Kuma Tsume - Hogo (Bear Claw - Block)
Rank: “(D”, “C”, “B”, “A)”, “S”
Skill: Taijutsu
Effect: Allows the user to effectively block corresponding ranks of attacks with their shield.
Special: Effective while in fully-formed Bear Claw Stance.
Drawback: Shields used with this technique will still be damaged according to item breaking laws if the attack being defended is higher than the user’s knowledge of this technique. Less effective against non-impact based Ninjutsu. May be bypassed by all-encompassing area-of-effect attacks.
Description: With training and raw physical strength the user learns the basic principle of how to block attacks with their shield. Standing steadfast, the user will simply place their shield between themselves and the threat, nullifying it with forward fortification and, if executed properly, stopping the attack’s power. The user is only able to remain on their feet and have their shield undamaged by attacks of equal or lower rank to the rank of this technique the user possesses.
Limit: “Bear Claw Stance”.
0-120
Draven entered the ring, the world was full of new and interesting things. He smiled as he entered the dirt square drawn in the basement of a factory. As he did he pulled out his shield, which was resting on his back. He had found this underground fight ring when he was looking for a place to train. And he smiled under his helmet. His sword was on his side, next to his secondary sword. A masterwork longsword. On his hip was his pistol crossbow and he hefted his tower shield up, getting into the bear claw stance as he waited for his opponent. His opponent came out. A man about half his size, but as he was intering he removed two swords from his hips and draven backed up against the corner of the ring, to give him a good cover behind his back. He wasn’t here to win, but hed gladly take on a challenge to test out his new shield.
As the enemy advanced he watched his movements carfully. Ready to turn to protect himself. The man attacked, blow after blow landed on the shield and the impact rattled Gavins bones. He knew this man was skilled, but is attacks were brutal. He took each blow, the swords bouncing off hiss hields as the man moved rapidly around him to attack. But he was safe from behind. The blows made hard contact with the shield. But Gavin knew the shield could take it. He grunted as each one hit. Doing his best to take the hits. The hits were getting weaker, and Gavin smiled. His shield was doing its job. He dodged to the left and soon was circling the enemy, keeping his shield between him and the fighter.
