So, he had succeeded in these two stances? But what if Katsu wanted to attack or dodge properly? "Doing good so far, kid! Keep the work up and you may leave with just ONE broken tooth!" The hell was this guy's problem? Katsu shifted around on his feet, if this man came at him he'd have to be light on his foot work. Katsu would have to be light on his toes akin to a ballerina, not literally. Katsu shivered at the thought of being a dancer, disgusting! The boy decided he had to be quick, so to be quick he'd have to keep his feet close to the ground. Just in order to have them close to the ground, so a solid base was always present. Katsu nodded when he was ready, the coach began to hurl towards him. Ah, shit.. so it begins.
Katsu's eyes narrowed, he held the semi-crouched stance in preparation for whatever the man would do. His attacks seemed painful before they even hit.. Katsu wasn't ready to dodge right away, hell no. He hovered backwards, he needed to dodge this man a bit first. Just to tire him out and create an opening, so Katsu could weave in and attack! The boy kept on the balls of his feet, so he wouldn't fall on all flats. If Katsu were to be on the flat of his feet, the man would knock him out straight up. Katsu maintained a balance in both feet, his eyes shifted to examine each movement of the coach. The man had rushed towards Katsu and extended his right hand. The boy's eyes widened and he hadn't known what to do. Ah! That's it, he was prepped for this.. he was prepared for sure.
Katsu shuffled his feet along, he waited for the fist to extend into his exact range. Katsu would dodge this like a professional, he'd impress the coach for sure. The fist glided through the air and targeted Katsu now, Katsu's brows glistened with sweat. The right punch came forth and Katsu attempted to spin around it, the punch skimmed his right tricep and Katsu almost yelped in pain. The boy was sent in a spin until he regained himself with the footwork he had recently preached to himself. Although his arm hurt, he kept his hands up. The boy balanced on the ball's of his feet. "Got a bit cocky there, kid! See what it costs you to be cocky?!" The man tossed his head back and chuckled briefly. Katsu had to push it, the boy rushed forward on his feet. The mat pounded as Katsu reached the man.
The young Kaishin then began to circle around the man, the coach stopped and formed a puzzled look. Katsu would expect the instructor to punch him right in the face, but every circle he weaved, Katsu gained speed. The coach extended his arm and assumed a stance. He sent it into the circle and Katsu took a duck, the fist glided over head. The duck threatened Katsu to land on the flats of his feet. So, he quickly ascended and continued the circle, Got him where I want him! Katsu though he had formed this strategy perfectly. Did he, though? With the boy weaving around the man, in a circle. The coach had missed his first hit, Katsu kept on his feet and practiced around the instructor. Katsu's right foot then slid forward and assumed the upright stance, he had faced the coach and looked as if he was about to attack. Katsu's left foot slid backwards, his right now in front.
Footwork
Rank: "D"
Skill: TaiJutsu
Effect: A simple technique in which is needed to know in order to keep the boxer moving keeping them light on their toes against opponents.
Special: ---
Drawback: Get caught flat-footed and you will be vulnerable to counterpunches.
Description: Keep your weight balanced on both feet. Stay on the balls of your feet so you can attack, spin or retreat quickly to safety. Practice moving side to side or in a circular motion around your opponent. Shift and shuffle your feet quickly, but keep them close to the ground so you have a solid base under you. Switch stances often when training. This means you'll change which foot is in front. Work your calf muscles by jumping rope, biking and doing bag drills while moving constantly. Good footwork requires training with an integrated approach to movement, strategy, punches thrown and balance. It all has to work together, so you should always be thinking about your footwork.
Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing), Must know Upright Stance or Semi-Crouch
