Hey everyone! Gift Giver here again and once more... It's December! Filled with all sorts of fun holidays, and of course... The snow that I love so much... It's time for another fun filled event that's going to bring people coming back for more! Or so I hoped! But first.... a bit of a story...
You see, over the past couple of years, I've brought the Gift Exchange to you. Ever since Santa Claus passed on, I tried to take over for him and follow in his footsteps. Unfortunately, he has some big shoes to fill (No pun intended). And with the Gift Exchange, it made things a little bit nicer! However... Last years Gift exchange kind of fell apart. What with server errors and the like, I found it incredibly difficult to keep up with the requests and make sure everything was sent out. So this year, I wanted to make up for it with something new.
You've all heard of Advent Calenders, I hope. Basically a calender with compartments that's you open up on each specific day and generally receive some sort of prize or candy for each day leading up until Christmas (For those who haven't heard of it). Well... For you, the people of NFRP, I bring my very own, Large scale version of the Advent Calender!
How will this work you ask? Simple! Each day, I'll post up something like a little challenge. Maybe a mini-contest to participate in, or a riddle to answer, or whatever the case may be. Some may be repeated throughout the month (Because coming up with 24 different different options can be quite difficult). Some of the challenges will also last longer than a day, but each day will get its own challenge. So don't be too distraught if you can't participate in every challenge.
But whatever really cares about is... the prizes that go along with it. Well... Each day will offer it's own prize, to fit with the theme of the advent calender. Furthermore, there are other prizes to go along with it. Here's how the prizes will breakdown, in a sense. Each day, 2 or 3 prizes will be offered. It all depends on the challenge involved and the amount of people that participate. In most, if not all cases, the prizes will remain hidden until after the challenge is over. At the end of the event, every entry into every challenge offers an entry into a drawing. So if you complete all 24 challenges, you get 24 entries. Of that, 5 people will receive prize packages. Anyone who completes all 24 challenges will also receive a separate prize package. Anyone who participates in at least one of the challenges gets a different prize package. AND Everyone on the site will receive something as a special holiday gift.
This Advent Calender will be unlike anything you've ever seen before. So hopefully when it's all said and done... You'll forgive me if I go into hiding and rest for a little while afterward. The first Challenge will be posted up tomorrow (December 1st). The challenges can be posted up at any time, but will run for at least 24 hours, to give all timezones a fair chance to participate. They don't end until I post in them again, so with certain day to day activities, some might not end for a bit after they were supposed to. But times will be posted for each thread in the thread. All times are in MST (Mountain Time Zone), and that will most likely be stated in each thread.
This thread here is for you to post any holiday wishes or thoughts about the event. I will also be announcing new challenges and winners here in this thread (As that allows me to keep one thread as an announcement instead of a new one each day). So get yourself ready to win big this holiday season. Because the 2014 Advent Calender is about to begin! Listed below are a few rules that spread across all threads. By participating in the Advent Calender contest, you agree that you have read the following four rules.
- Unless otherwise stated, you may only enter on one account. And if you are known by a common name, please at least state that name so I can keep track of who is doing what. If it's a hidden account that you don't want everyone knowing, at least PM me so I know who it is and can keep the drawing correct and the 24 entry package can go to you if you complete that.
- No arguing over the winners. In some cases, winners will be directly picked by me. I will remain completely unbiased in this, because it doesn't matter to me who wins or loses. If you absolutely believe there is bias in it, then this can be discussed with you and the three members of Head Staff. But in most cases, there will be either a timed thing or a vote amongst members.
- Prizes are, for the most part, final. There are some cases that you can receive an item that your character physically cannot use (Such as a free Augmentation ritual on a character that can't receive them). If that's the case, we will discuss an appropriate substitution. But PM me if that ends up happening so we can figure it out.
- NO BASHING SUBMISSIONS! If this happens for any reason whatsoever, you will be banned from the event. Any prizes you received prior to this will be removed. Any benefits you've gained from those prizes will be voided. And all entries will be revoked, meaning no prize packages at the end. You will also not receive the one given to all members as this is the ultimate disrespect with this event. Furthermore, an automatic 66% will be placed upon your account. It might sound extreme, but I will not tolerate anyone making fun of any submissions. This is your only warning.
