Stockings

Greetings Everyone and welcome to the 2014 Advent Calender. Today is December 16th, which means Day 16 of the Advent Calender and the theme for today (If you couldn't see the big letters above) Is Stockings! Yes, the colorful, extra large socks that hang on your fireplace mantle for the Christmas Season. Often decorated with your name and filled with candy, they're just one more thing that brings joy to the people of the holidays. And this event... You're creating your own! Just like with the Candy Cane event, I have a template for you to use if you'd like. Of course, if you don't want to use my template... You don't have to! If you find one that you like more, then personalize that one instead.

Here are the rules for this event!

[li]This is a two part event. 1) Design/Color your own Stocking. You don't need supreme Photoshop skills to be able to do this. Just something simple will be fine. 2) Explain what you designed. Why did you decorate it the way that you did? What are the colors for? You've got to have some sort of description to accompany the stocking.[/li][li]Stockings are commonly decorated with the name at the top of it. As this is meant to be anonymous voting, I ask that you do not include the name. Or if you do, include a real name or perhaps initials, or something of that nature.
[/li][li]Here is the template that I've provided for you. (LINK) Again, you DO NOT have to use this template. If you'd rather use another, feel free! If you genuinely do not have any way whatsoever to color anything like it, let me know. But I believe most computers have some way of allowing you to color something, same with most smart phones and tablets having a free app that can be downloaded. If you don't have one on your computer, see if this in-browser program will work (LINK)
[/li][li]This is a Submission Event! This means that all entries into this event are to be PMed to Gift Giver. The thread will be locked until the voting phase begins.
[/li][li]This is a TWO DAY EVENT! That means that 48 hours from the time of posting, this event can be closed. Will it be closed immediately after that point? Nope! The thread isn't closed until I say that it is. So if I haven't posted saying it's closed, you can submit! However, each day is for something separate. The first day is for submissions, the second day is for voting. So submissions will only be accepted in the first 24 hours.
[/li][li]As it says above, voting will be done to decide the winners. After the first 24 hours, I will post the submissions. After that, another 24 hours will be given for the site to vote on what they think is the best designed Stocking.

I will give you an extension equal to the amount of time you were waiting on me to respond. Now for the fun part... The prize! The prize for Day 16's event is... a mystery! Yep, keeping this one hidden (Most will be like this). However, I will say there is a First, Second, and Third place prize here. The voting is what will determine that. There will also be a participation prize just for submitting. And, as with all events, a chance to win one of five grand prize packages at the end of the event. Plus, remember that you have to participate in all 24 events to receive a special prize package at the end! So go out there and show us what kind of Stocking you can come up with.

The Stockings are Hung!

Thank you all for your submissions on Stockings today. And now they all look so pretty hung on the fireplace mantle. But now its up to you to cast your vote for your favorites. As usual, you can vote for up three stockings. And you cannot vote for your own. So let the voting begin!

ST 1

the text reads "ashe" in silver and "nfrp" in black. the candy can is wintergreen and blue raspberry, with a rather plain gingerbread man adorned with cherry gumdrop features. the present too is fairly stereotypical, though I went in a different direction with the stocking. its orange! I just thought I should do SOMETHING differently

ST 2

I decorated this stocking with very Christmassy colors, staying traditional because of my love for the holiday. I also added the black because black and red are my two favorite colors and they look cool together. It had a bit of my personal touch on top of something traditional, which is a combination of things that are very important to me.

ST 3

I've got a lot of problems with a lot of people! And since I don't celebrate christmas, this is the PERFECT stocking for me! It's sexy, it's witty, and most importantly, it's a FESTIVUS FOR THE-REST-OF-US!

ST 4

The picture is not advanced in any way, based on the simplicity that christmas really is. The warm love we all share with each other is enough for most and a couple of gifts and some food enhance that experience.
The colors are mostly in red, green and white as red and green is the colors of christmas and white the color of snow covering the lands. The sock is brown as to look like the boot of the santa-claus, someone we all think about as we go down and look into the sock for the sweets and presents hidden within.

ST 5

HULK COLOR! THEN HULK GOT ANGRY...HULK SMASHED PUNY CRAYONS!!!! Hulk like green though. Hulk used green too hard and burned paper. Hulk depressed now. Hulk think he is going to loose. *Sad music as Hulk walks off*

ST 6

I went with a, what I find to be, a traditionally colored stocking. The dark and lights reds bring in the feelings of the holidays, and the gold stitching symbolizes the sharing of wealth amoung your fellow man.

ST 7

Decided to go with the classic Christmas stocking. I love this one because it represents everything to do with christmas, so I also included the classic holiday colors. I wouldn't want to change or put a twist on the spirit of this holiday in any way. I like Christmas the way it is.

ST 8

The traditional stocking for NFRP's eighth christmas. The eighth christmas still means quite a bit as it means we've passed through another holiday season without loss of activity nor failure of the site. This is the stocking filled with joy and cheer from me to the site and all those who agree.

ST 9

The stocking I have colored is a tradition red color on the outside, with an interior of grey. Inside it lies many things, one being a blue present wrapped in golden ribbons, which gives it a more festive feel. There is a snowman inside as well, with a red and white scarf, like a candy cane, and a black bowler hat and an orange carrot nose. Though the interior is filled with a variety of sweets, of all shapes and sizes, we only have view of two. An orange one which would have a taste akin to citrus and a round pink one, akin to a jaw breaker. A few dark green leaves, accompanied by a peppermint cane and finally a gingerbread man, with edible red bow for those added cavities.

The things in the stocking are just either the colours I associate with those items (IE, snow is white, carrots are orange) or just christmassy colours (red and green mainly). I am however a terrible artist. Really terrible I might add. And I didn’t really like the previous assignment, the one with the candy cane either, so doing this a second time is quite depressing. Thus, I picked the colour for the stocking that most complemented my mood and my artistic skills in all this: Shitty.

ST 13

A green and red stocking in the design of an Elf's shoe, rests in front of a warm cozy fire for its owner. Little bells jingle as the stocking is moved, hanging off of the tips from various places. Small little items are placed all within, inviting the one who owns it to come and peek inside and look for their goodies, to see what they've gotten for this holiday.

I decorated the stocking to match Christmas colors, and redesigned it to fit a classic Christmas Elf's shoe.

ST 14

Christmas is steeped in tradition. Whether for good or bad there are some things that never change. The stockings lovingly hung on the staircase. Candies and assorted treats for snacks throughout the month. Little toys and gifts designed to put a smile on your face. The colors, the gifts, opening them one at a time, all of it is a tradition that you take comfort in. The familiarity of it all.

An EMP emitter is found inside the Device and can release an EMP pulse that reaches 20 meters around the user disrupting all Surveillance Gadgets for 5 minutes. All recordings will be erased however. The Disruptor is unable to "disable" the Sonic Emitter, however it does detonate the Sonic Emitter. The detonation has a concussion effect, knocking anyone out within 2 meters of the device. This enhancement was created to disable anyone who comes near the Sonic Emitter. The device may release the pulse 3 times before having to recharge 5 minutes.

Normally used against ice blockades. Causes light burns. The Thermal Enhancement releases 20 armour points worth of fire damage on top of an attack. If the item makes continuous contact with a target it emits 10 Armour Points (20 Armour Points against Ice Defenses) worth of Fire Damage per second against said target. 10 Armour Points of Fire damage may be transferred to another item (1 second activation) allowing that item to cause a single fire attack on top of its own striking attack for 1/2 a round.

The system is devised as a transference system, pumping all the heat, and converting it into extreme coldness with multiple gears and fans charging a metal to give a burst, or keep cool. Due to this system through the weapon, cryo coolness is transferred from the components inside to an impact point, and causes the weapon to glow with blue energy when activated. Normally used against flaming blockades. Causes ice burns and can freeze a 1/3rd of a meter per impact. The Cryo Enhancement releases 20 armour points worth of cold damage on top of an attack. The password stops an opponent from using the Motion Sensor for themselves. The Motion Sensor cylinder opens into a tripod when deployed. A single green light emits on top of the cylinder. The Motion Sensor releases a 30 meter pulse every second. Anything that is moving within the 30 meter radius will be seen on a radar screen. The pulse also notifies how long a wall may be, how thick it may be, and if something is moving behind that wall as well. If anyone is 2 meters away from the object they will hear the pulse. User will need a Surveillance Monitor to see the radar screen.
