As he fell into the darkness again, medical staff and researchers rushed the scene. They were talking very fast to each other and Sai could not hold on long enough to listen to what they were saying. That was the last thing he knew before waking up again in that cold clean room. He sighed, wondering what the plans were for the day. He took the free time to compose himself and clear his head. He steadied his breathing. He noticed that he had drugs in his system. He was not sure whether they were administered to him to heal him or to keep his mind weakened. But it was fine. His power to resist the abilities his enemies wielded was still there. Drugs of this level would not take that away from him. They were most likely there only as a precaution.
As Sai was in the midst of meditation, the doors slid open. A group of people swiftly entered. One of them lifted Sai up by his collar and stared deeply into his eyes. A flood of chakra would pass between the two, subjecting the Protean to another Compulsion technique, one of great power. So his greatest fear came to pass. They were using Proteans to track down other Proteans. It made sense since there was no other way to detect one unless they chose to reveal their powers. He had to let himself go. He had to gather his strength and gradually let his soul adjust to this level of mind control. Not to mention the most crucial part would when he actually encountered a Protean. That was when he would have to summon his power. As he was thinking up his plan, his body was led outside to a platoon of other Proteans.
As Sai did his best to observe his surroundings, he noticed that there were miniature surveillance equipment attached to each Protean. It was safe to assume he had a set too. That meant that unless he somehow managed to accidentally break his equipment, he would not be able to easily fool them and use his time in the outside world to his advantage. Regardless, they were sent off and they scattered into the surrounding lands. Their only mission was to sustain themselves and find other Proteans. Their special eyes that could see others of their kind was always activated. It took Sai only 36 hours before he found one. A large and muscular looking man happened to the one he encountered. In his heart, he rejoiced. The opponent seemed strong enough.
The two would instantly clash. Sai was driven by the force of the Geas that was placed upon him. He was awed by the fact that it actually was giving him power in the act. As an outside observer within his own mind, he marveled at the strength of the mind control technique. He would have to examine it after he gained back control for good. But for now, he resisted its power within his mind, letting it affect only his physical body. As the two tangled back and forth, Sai's natural talent was picking up the movements of his opponent. To the discovered Protean, it must have seemed as if Sai was continually getting faster and faster. That's when he got serious. Sai smiled inside his mind. The man had just opened the Initial Gate.
The man's speed and power now overwhelmed Sai's. He was slowly losing ground. To his overseers, it must seem natural. Sai chose this time to slowly push back the encroaching chakra in his mind, slowly gaining control over this Geas that infected his mind. With the combination of the two, Sai created the perfect opportunity for the man to get away. This time, he let himself smile for real and his opponent realized what was going on. A near lethal blow would drill into Sai's chest and blow him through several trees before he fell onto the hard earth. As his eyes rolled to the back of his head, he could see the man fleeing the scene. Sai wished the best for his kinsman.
