10 miles outside the village of Amegakure, a large amount of stone buildings were placed in a strange pattern with a tower-like building in the middle. There were no ordinary buildings as they no longer contained any humans and the structures had been torn down by the hundreds of years they had been standing there alone. A few animals had taken refuge in the ruins as it seems like the predators refused to enter the vicinity. Despite that the vegetation had reached all the way into the center of the area, non of the buildings were covered by it except for the roof of the tower which was covered in a dark red moss which gave away a thick green gas.
The small Hoshigaki had been walking around in the swamp surrounding Amegakure for a couple of hours when he had noticed the tower in the far distance. Since it wasn't that far away from his village and he hadn't heard anything about it before, he got quite curious and disbanded his search for the local herbs found in the swamp. His clothes were drenched in the impure water oozing out from the mud. The normal water walking technique didn't work on that kind of water as it was basically a part of the mud and just sucked the person into it, something that had always annoyed the small boy. It sounded like the ground was sighing as he walked around in it, quite depressing and quite draining. He did however know that it was a good exercise since his legs would have to do some work and his feet would need to learn to find proper footing when there were little to none there.
When there were a few hundred meters until he'd reach the shore of firm ground on which the tower was standing, Emi brought out one of his kunais and began to spin it around in his right hand. It went fairly good which he wasn't that surprised of as he had been training on using kunais for several years. But when his left foot sunk into a deeper hole of mud, Emi lost a little of his concentration and most of his balance, making the kunai slice up a small stripe on his right forearm. It didn't hurt, but it made him flinch slightly before he h corrected his footing. Was the difference so vital? He thought as he continued to walk forward. His control with the kunai appeared to be extremely sensitive to his footing. So as he walked forward in the swamp, he tried to bend his knees a little before throwing the kunai a few feet ahead of himself. His goal was to have a perfect aim by the time that he reached the other shore. It did however not take him that long, the bent knees appeared to be a lot more effective that he ahd thought, so he then changed his directives and began to make difficult somersaults before throwing.
The most important thing with that was to make sure to have a fixed position in his head before making the jump. That was so his eyes would easily return to same spot while he was about to hit the ground, then he just had to make sure his body would be able to move in in a good way to improve his throwing capabilities. When he was about to walk up on the shore, he laughed a little to himself, it was good that no one had been around to see that, it could've been embarrassing. But as he walked past the first set of trees, he heard a faint sound of footsteps and a familiar aura coming from the same direction. So Emi jumped up in a tree while throwing a kunai on the ground below himself, it was nowhere near the incoming man as it was just a last practice throw.
I didn't know I would receive some company all the way out here.
He exclaimed to the man.
You are however welcome to join me if you'd like Sai.
