Jäger had made his way across town to a place in the village he had never seen before. The lights and the atmosphere here were so much different than back in the Rust District that he called his home. People were out and about, and he felt quite uncomfortable under their curious gazes. Though he was readily able to appear in public, these people did not seem to be simply gazing at him out of curiosity, their stares were judging him and casting him aside as a freak. Though he could not hear the whispered words they spoke to each other, he could tell from their looks, and the way they moved as far away from him as possible in order to keep from being near him, as though he would smell like the fish he took after. Their contempt was not enough to keep him from doing his job though; and he would never hide himself away because of cruel words and judgement, these people simply were too shallow for him to register. He could not undo what had happened, and allowing these people to rule his life was simply not an option when he had a job to do.
Gleipnir sang quietly under his sleeve, as the chain clinked as he walked. With all the noise, no one would notice the hidden weapon, and for once the sky was not laden with rain, and the world here was merely sodden for a moment. This meant that instead of sticking to his skin and revealing the weapon hidden by the orange gi, it was comfortably loose and breezy. The burnt orange tattoo on his chest was partially exposed by the gi hanging loosely upon his chest, and he had seen a few people trying to crane their necks to see the remainder of the sun that had been burned into his chest. Droplets of water dropped from the buildings above as he walked, some falling into his thick black hair, others beating a tune into Svalinn, the shield that clung to his back. Though it may not have been raining now, it had certainly done so for most of the day, so even when it was not falling from the clouds that were a constant cover for the village, they still could never quite escape the torrent.
If there was one advantage to the inherent fear he imposed in people due to his grand size and Shark-like looks, it was that making his way through the crowded streets was far more simple due to people moving out of the way. Though this was of very little comfort to Jäger, he still noted it. His wooden sandles clicked as he walked, and he hummed to himself to their beat as he carried himself through the street towards the hotel. The warm tune was lost to all but himself as the chatter of the people enveloped it, but he did so only to please himself. The hotel was lit up brightly and there were many people about with cameras, which flashed brightly and made him wince as his sharp eyes were not used to such effects. The shouting and rudeness of the mass of flesh and machines was quite overwhelming and the goliath found himself questioning why anyone would wish such miserable fame upon themselves, to have vultures picking at your body and life with their metaphorical beaks and claws. It was quite abhorrent, and he saw now why this Ame Hilton woman wanted help.
With his large hands, he scooped people aside, and easily pushed through the mass of people, all of whom yelled with surprise and anger at their sudden displacement, threatening him with bodily harm until his massive blue frame came into view, and suddenly they clammed up. After a couple seconds of disorientation, the crowd seemed to realize that they were not going to stop the massive figure, and parted ways to allow him through, revealing to him a very beautiful, svelte figure who did not seem annoyed by the clawing voices or flashing lights, and merely raised her eyebrows in surprise at the large figure that approached her. Before she could speak, Jäger held his left hand over his heart, knelt on his right knee and bowed before her, showing his respect to the woman. Though she was not someone he knew anything about, she had called upon the village to protect her, and he was under her employ, to do her disrespect would be to disrespect his village.
"Lady Hilton, I am your village appointed body guard, and I --"
He was cut off in surprise by her soft hands pressing against his shoulder, and her now bare feet pressing against his knee as she clambered atop his shoulder while grinning like a child. The shiny silver heels she had been wearing (And which Jäger imagined cost more than he would make in his entire life) were left upon the red carpet, and she patted him on his thick curly hair as she whispered into his ear.
"Get me out of here and we'll talk about it!"
The Hoshigaki could not disobey a direct order, so amidst the jeers and yells from the people holding the cameras, he brushed them aside as they tried to stop him, and took off at as quick a pace as he could move down the street. For his size, he could move rapidly when required, and the paparazzi were left in quite a daze at the fact that such a massive creature could move so swiftly. Jäger did not stop until she tapped him on the shoulder again as they were passing the park, and she said she wanted to go in there. The sun was going down now, and he tried to protest, but she insisted that he needed to listen to everything she told him to do.
