Well that wasn't quite what Katsu was expecting. When he heard the word “crone” he had thought of an ugly old woman, bitter from the long years alone. This lady seemed more like his grandmother. Still though. All an illusion, most likely. Ah well, in the end Katsu would still be nice whether or not his host was hideous or sublime in appearance. It was just the good manners his parents had rammed into his head.
"Goodness gracious, you both look famished! Come in, come in, you're just in time for pie.." came the voice of the little old lady.
Katsu gave her a polite bow as he filed into the kitchen the house, setting his hoverboard by the door against the wall, out of the way, ”Oh I see. When they call you the Crone they mean that you're a woman who's venerated for her experience and wisdom. Fair greetings to you, Ms. Thank you for the offer.” Katsu was about ready to move away from where he had lain the board when he heard her next words.
"It's good to see you again, Kirigane-kun. I'm very pleased to see you're doing well! - And you, Katsu of the Kazeraikou.. I've been waiting for you to come here. I am surprised it took you so long, I expected you weeks ago."
”Oh, and it seems you're a bona fide Seeress, as well. Either that or extremely gifted with scrying jutsu, either way... As to the delay, my apologies. I like to enjoy traveling the countryside and Kirigane-kun here didn't tell me there was someone waiting on our arrival.” Katsu traded banter back and forth with the old woman as he opted to place his bow and cloak/hood with his hoverboard, as well as a good bit of his strapped on weaponry such as his quiver and pouch projector system. The logic was that a Seeress would obviously be a very treasured resource for just about anybody with a brain; and wouldn't dare try to attack her abode for risk of her “customers” coming to her aid. Thus, Katsu felt relatively safe from an attack where his weaponry would do any good.
"...So Katsu-kun, you're to ask a simple question. Depending on the question, I require a price to answer. The more valuable my answer, the higher my price. Consider your question carefully. The cheapest answers come from the most thought out questions... The prices will be either material; Money, items.. Or it will be emotional, costing you something you wish you could avoid.. Or it will be personal. Taking something from you, which you will never get back.
“When you ask a question, I will name my price. Then you can accept or decline the price. However, you may not ask another question if you have not accepted the price to your last question. Just like Kirigane here, who was too afraid to give up what I wanted of him, khehehehe...~"
Up to this point Katsu hadn't yet touched his apple pie slice, and had also been careful not to say anything that could be considered a question. Everything was a statement. When the old woman had been speaking of her rules Katsu had been writing them down in his little journal, writing out not just the rules but the information that Katsu felt he could safely assume from the information already given. It still seemed like Katsu didn't have nearly enough information in order to be able to make an effective call here.
Still, Katsu had paid attention and realized that he was essentially being used by Kirigane in order to try and get some information out of the Crone, perhaps to negate his own having to pay that price... ”... Well, it seems I'm being used. At least that appears to be the case... Kirigane I think it's time you come clean with me. You should give me the details man. Things like your goal, the information in the little book, and the question you feel would be best to ask our Hostess here. I think I'm done being led around without any information on what we're actually doing... Still very careful in wording his speech as statements only, not a single question. It seemed Katsu was going to have to actually think on this quest here, so it was time to have all the information to think on...
