Withered Roots [Event Thread]

The season was autumn almost winter, the Duchess knew today was the day she would meet one of the entertainers of this village. The main reason why she has entered her old home once more, long ago she considered this her home until succeeding to the Duchy. She herself lead Konoha at a time as a Hokage although that stage didn't last long. Walking in the busy streets of Konoha with an apple in hand, she slowly ate its juicy content and enjoying the moment she wore her usual dark blue kimono with golden laces and her sash that bounds the the kimono is glossy silver. There was a white cloak over her left shoulder with Japanese symbols for Duchess. She had a happy expression while entering the Hyuuga district. The buildings looked pretty good for Hyuuga. She knew they were nobles around here with plenty of money but not even all Hyuuga mansions put together would be as grand as her palace, in fact she thought the palace was one of the wonders of this country. Only rarely was the palace shown to the public eyes, its protective magic guarded her households secrets for generations never to be revealed and defeated.

She only carried 25 kunai with strange hiraishin markings, 5 of which had exploding tags attached to them, each kunai was well hidden out of view yet still easy to reach for. Inside her tactical vest that she was now wearing over her normal dark blue kimono with golden laces, 19 senbon were hidden which 1 was between her teeth. The vest was made to match the colors of her kimono. On her hands were a pair of tactical gloves protecting fingers and helping to not get scratches while having to use senbon for slicing. Apart from those dangerous weapons she also carried 4 decks of playing cards, of course they were marked with hiraishin markings, they were easily accessible as well, a pair of knuckle busters were hidden on her body. She was stuffed with weapons, yet she carried herself as if no weight was put on her, no doubt this was all thanks to her training in kratos style. The Duchess has walked past the Hyuuga district, next should be the Uchiha district if her mind was working right.

The woman was still young looking considering her age, it was thanks to secret ways the souls has she gained control over ageing altogether. With simply little concentration she could turn young or old depending on the mood. She was accompanied by a large war fan on her back and a longsword on her hips. In one of her side pocket she carried a two doses of pargen with 2 blood clot pills and 2 smoke grenades. She wondered what Willbell and Linca were doing, those girls were very perceptive and diligent at their studies. Although they were genetically modified from her DNA they were still her daughters, together with Esty the oldest child. Ohh that child was something though, the brute strength she possesses was scary. The Uchiha district was just around the corner, if she goes past them then the man called Varo'then would meet her in a local pub called the "The Slaughtered Hokage". Definitely a strange name to call a pub, whoever thought of that had a thing for Hokages, hopefully it wasn't due to her reign.

The woman was totally out of loop with recent Konoha events, not knowing who was the Hokage or their leadership positions. She would occasionally meet a few young shinobi walking around in this busy hour, they looked pretty green. Lucky village got new soldiers to command, they still looked like kids to her but sometimes looks can be deceiving. Oh, I should maybe go ask if they have made a grave for Solus. she never got that answer from one of the previous Hokages. Thinking back maybe he did say something but she just forgot, after all she trusted him enough to grant him one of her kunai as a gift. Right, after I meet this Varo'then then I will go meet the Hokage. her shoulders were grazed by a drunk man who looked at her face carefully, his fingers pointed at her but then he turned around taking a sip from his beer bottle or some other kind of alcohol.

The smelly drunkard was weird, however what weirded was how other people acted. There was something fishy going on, why was everyone like on edge? The Duchess finished her apple in time to witness a smoking building, she was standing in front of a shop of some sort. Interesting she tilted her head, should she enter to find out what was going on? But then if smoke was rising from the place the people inside will surely come out soon, no need to do anything then. The Duchess stood outside the shop waiting for answers.

And so the ranks split down the middle, the unrecognized Red head, Braum, marching up tot he doors followed by a charging Loki and Titania. However Titania left that oh so pleasant tear gas bolt which would do an excellent join of flushing out the last few villagers from the vicinity and making it an impossible building to sit in for the next 15-20 minutes while it aired out naturally unless someone had an interesting idea to solve the dilemma. There where four villagers who listened, turned their back to the others and marched up with them, their faces scrunched with uncertainty or just slate blank without emotion, looking pale.

For those who stayed they were more than likely to start a frenzy, looking around at one another with worry as they gestured this way and that, some taking off to their homes to pack belongings. Seems the roots of Leaf were very much shallow and malnourished. It left poor Zakari with only Hiro on his side and even then Hiro had eventually fallen silent it seemed after the villagers continued to look towards the two with fear. "Why did they leave? What did that girl mean? Are they going to help us?" Very valid and dismal questions came form the crowd while others just meandered in confusion. Perhaps The two nin could conjure something.

Far back at the shack where the Duchess roamed the smoke rose but not heavily, being a teargas fog it dissipated rather quickly, leaving little trace save for te lingering smell and taste to make the eyes burn. this far out into the town it would be hard to find anyone who knew what was going on.

The group of three would indeed be permitted, the doors would open and before them a wall of black smoke remained absolutely still. As if held in place by something, it coiled up to the entrance of the lobby and stopped. From its void the voice of the speaker would come "Welcome, welcome." shuffling could be heard but no voices, just breathing and the subtle footfalls of those who worked in the background. Assuming the girl still had her Byakugan active she too would still see this all as a negative void, but where the smoke roiled up a thin layer of chakra stood. Perhaps what was keep in the smoke? Or keeping in something much worse.

“Oh shit “ Hiro shouted as he ran to the door covering his ears as tightly as he could before walking in to the shop checking on Zakari who was in the building when the noise went off what the hell was the hyuuga girl thinking attacking a comrade of the leaf. Hiro’s vision began to blur as he quickly grabbed Zakari pulling him from the building getting him a safe distance away from the building…”Zakari are you okay” Hiro asked as he rubbed his eyes trying to clear away the tears from the gas.. “fuck its just me and you everyone else bailed “Hiro said sadly as he knew the odds were stacked against the duo.

“I am not gonna lie I am not particularly skilled to be quite honest my only skill is with senbon and even that is sub par compared to everyone else.. I am sorry I let you and the hokage down “ Hiro said lowering his head as he knew no matter how far he came he would never be good enough to save anyone. “I guess its better to fight and die than give up knowing you let a bunch of people die..”Hiro said pulling a kunai out of his butt pouch before turning in the direction of the tower walking slowly toward it almost hesitating.

Looking back Hiro said “We have to stand and fight it’s the only option man and i mean the only option nothing we do now will make any difference for the village it’s put up or shut up for us… It may be a suicide mission but i can’t sit on my ass knowing the village is in danger and that people I used to see as comrades became traitors… No I just can’t… I am a shinobi of the village hidden in the leaves and I will stand up and fight no matter what the cost!” Hiro said with a newfound determination

A chill danced down the Hyuuga’s back as she took her first few steps into the tower. She had been running pretty quickly so she was completely unprepared for the wall of smoke that she would inevitably take a few steps into it. Apart from the smoke, she could hardly see anything except possibly the chakra systems of whoever was within her Byakugan’s all-seeing eye range (40m). The only vivid source of visible chakra would be some kind of standing outline which made Titania think that this was some sort of projection.

In this eternal blackness, Titania suddenly felt alone. She didn’t know any of these people. Hell, she didn’t even know if these guys were as peaceful as they first seemed or if she was 100% on joining them. Her thoughts jumped to the kage; was she feeling just as lonely? Fuck, Titania would think as her heart sank, what have I gotten myself into? She truly wanted nothing more than to run far away and hide under her sheets. Hell, running away was her #1 combat specialty! But she couldn’t run. Loki had followed her and now she was implicitly responsible for whatever ended up happening to him.

Clearly, it was too late to turn back without a fight. Titania slowly accepted this fact and took a deep breath as more people found their place inside the lobby. It couldn’t all be bad right? If someone could just put her at ease all doubts would fall from her mind. She would keep silent for now, but she would soon ask questions regarding the gameplan regarding the original authorities and any non-compliant villagers.

Loki's run had stalked to a very slow walk, as the wall of black smoke lay before them. Loki raised an eyebrow saying, "A wall of black smoke? I'm so lost..." He then looked around at the others that were in this little group of three, with a smile seeing if anyone got the joke, "Get it? Black smoke? LOST?! Ahhh, forget it. My brilliance is wasted on you." Loki then focused his attention at the black smoke itself as he heard a voice come from the speaker welcoming them. Loki didn't like the looks of things as they were, but he honestly didn't except much in the way of friendliness, from these people.

He came in here fully expecting a degree of caution from the people inside, he wouldn't be shocked if their little group was attacked outright. Loki however was an untrusting sort of guy, so he always excepted the worst from people to begin with, regardless of how benevolent their intentions seemed, and this lot didn't come off as angels to begin with. Loki looked over at Titania while she took a breath, she was clearly getting herself back together. More than likely, this wasn't what she was excepting. Loki didn't honestly know what she could have been excepting in the first place.

She seemed like a rich girl, so maybe she was excepting a bountiful feast in her honor, who know.  He did know one thing though, "You're almost crazy than I am...and that's not a compliment... well maybe a little one." Loki said to Titania with smirk on his face as he looked into the abyss that was the smoke. Loki leaned in and then whispered to Titania, "Relax a little, you're here now. What ever happens, happens. Besides if things get bad...well worst, you can always just run...lord knows I am." Loki  stepped back and then started to chuckle a little bit.

Loki folded his arms and looked over at the other guy that was in the tower with them. Loki couldn't really get a read on him. He couldn't get a real read on Titania either, but with her at least he had little bits to grab and pull at. This other guy though, there was nothing there, nothing Loki could pick up on...yet. That really pissed him off a little. "Hmm..." Loki mused as he gave the guy a looked and then refocused his attentions to the smoke. He sighed and then said to the men behind, within, around, controlling the smoke.... whatever, "Is there a purpose for this smoke? Other than making us feel like ASSHOLES for coming to meet you guys?"

Upon entering the establishment of the captured Andromeda, I noticed something astonishing: the man behind this must certainly have the same mind as me! My green eyes went agape as the darkness consumed me, having felt as if though I had somehow detonated my smoke grenade. Who ever he was, he was no novice; immediately, then, I noticed it had been perhaps a Genjutsu... 

So then, I cast my own. Fear of another's illusion had been abstracted from me, and thus as a death-touched entity, this darkness did not concern me; in fact, it aided in my disguise, having revealed my true mien to those who could scry through the illusion. I was principled to maliciousness - and that was key.  My hands as a specialist Genjutsu user had been exceptional; call it umbral sleight of hand. The illusion had been cast not towards my comrades -- the Leaf Antagonists -- but upon the blabbering youth Loki. May his darkest fears consume him in this atrous void. Of course, my actions, had they or could they even be observed by allies to Anti-Leaf, would show my sinister endeavor. And the hitojichi-kage? Unaware of one of her own shinobi's actions due to the eternal darkness enshrouding the area; even her beatings should have been enough to knock her unconscious. 

The equestrian, I did not worry about. Her teargas maneuver earlier already established her as an archaist to Konoha. At least for now, for my true objective was oh-so-spooky...

He was still waiting for prospective shinobi to enter when he heard the shattering of glass and saw the arrow that had landed inside the building, accompanied by a shrill screeching noise that assaulted his auditory organs. His hands pressed against his ears, trying to prevent any further damage while a thick dense cloud of gas emanated from the arrow. No way was that a good sign. His right hand would go up to his neck where his gas-mask lay and would pull it over his face. For his ears he couldn't do much, the pain might have been gone but now he couldn't hear anything at all. His proficiency in the Medical arts wasn't enough to restore deafness but there was another way. Still inside the shop, the Kedoins ears would be safe from observation as they were broken down and taken back into his body and then growing another pair, identical to the first, hopefully healing the damage.

There was no need for anyone to rush in and save him as Zakari would have already implemented his escape...by jumping out of the very window the arrow had been shot inside the shop. The reasoning behind it was that if the attacker was still waiting outside he/she would take the opportunity to fire another arrow if he tried to escape through the door. Jumping out the window was less predictable and would probably gain him a few more moments to ready himself in case of eminent incoming attack. Holding a kunai in left hand he would land on the ground in-front of the shop and surreptitiously look around for possible threats. So far he could only see Hiro who wasn't armed with anything that could fire an arrow and a youthful looking red-headed lady who was also probably not the person who had shot at him. Taking off his gas-mask would reveal a look of incredible pissiness/pissitude, rather it was simpler to say that he was pissed to the max.

Should Hiro continue his little speech the Kedoin would listen attentively without interjecting, the look on his face though would remain the same throughout, waiting till he finished before he put in his 2 cents: "Like I said before, don't do anything rash. You go running off over there without a plan and I guarantee that your odds of saving the Kage or even getting out alive are pretty much non-existent. If its just the two of us then we gotta be even more careful. So lets just think this out...By the way did you get a good look at who tried to gas me? I want to repay the favor by sticking this-" holding up the kunai "-up their ass?"

The Duchess didn't wait long, two males emerged from the smoke. The first one came from the building the usual way unlike the second one who jumped from the window, a gas mask was on his face thus she didn't realize how pissed he was. Hmm, pretty interesting duo. she thought, there might be more people inside just as interesting. Now that they were both outside they were shinobi? She wasn't entirely sure at first but then listening to him talking about letting someone and the hokage down. He went on and on about what should have been done, ultimately deciding to just drag his lazy feet towards the tower. While she wasn't paying attention much to the other masked guy he has taken it off, it was none other than that guy she once met when they were fishing with Esty and her pet.

She remembered how they tried to rescue a girl, although this guy left most of it on her and ran away for some reason. Although she could have remembered it wrong, sometimes she doubted even herself. The man was now trying to persuade the other one to not rush, so what was going on? From what she heard so far the Hokage and perhaps the whole village was in shambles, how dangerous was this situation however and who was the enemy? These shinobi seem to be on equal ranks, none of them were leaders. The Duchess hoped they weren't the only ones trying to do something, she was very interested to see what they will try. There was no need to go talk to them anymore, she knew roughly what was going on and as a one time Hokage she was curious what these shinobi were capable of.

The shinobi she recognized probably didn't remember her, for he didn't even speak to her. He was pretty pissed at whoever fired that gas at him, too bad she arrived too late to see the whole scene unfold. As for their armament, both seemed to be lacking although there were probably hidden compartments in their apparels. Chiaki stood away from them, on the corner of the house with enough distance to hear them and their plans. However she didn't deliberately try to hide herself, if they realize they were being listened to then that was good with her.

The remaining villagers standing outside began to get restless, glares and murmurs were everywhere and there was nothing going on. One of the shinobi had fallen silent and the other two seemed to just be unorganized. No one took notice of the Duchess in the group of residents save for whomever she had personally walked past, while the shop owner who offered up his business to the shinobi stepped forward, huffing. "Are you just going to stand around and squabble?! I thought they trained our ninja to handle hostile situations!" His face was a contortion of anger and a bit of fear. If three shinobi had already marched off, it was only known that the Hyuuga girl was a betrayer, the other two might have been more inclined to just taking the initiative that these two lacked. Who knew?

Back at the tower now things could finally get underway, once the trio passed through it all, chakra barrier and such, the void of black smoke became crippling to one person and one person alone. Titania. It was, in fact, NOT a genjutsu, but a thick and viscous smoke of pure chakra. Black in the perceptions of those with unaided vision, to a Hyuuga it was just a bright and blinding screen of pure white. It was Konoha, the village known for the famous Hyuuga branch and the occasional Uchiha, to overlook something so pivotal would have been their immediate downfall. Titania could very well keep her Byakugan active and suffer the excruciating pains if she wished, it would cause a sensory overload eventually and potentially ruin her optical efficiency or deactivate and be plunged into the darkness with the rest of the shinobi.

Loki spoke up after his little joke and it earned him a well to do chuckle from their host. Through the darkness it was obvious they were being watched somehow, some way, the antagonist observed Braum casting a blind jutsu of sort in the direction of Loki. Only because the youth was so noisy did it even seem appropriate he could aim at all in this darkness, a ball parking shot if you will.

Loki would indeed be subjected to WHATEVER his worst fear was as the invasive chakra of Braum coursed into his chakra system, distorting its flow. That pleased the faceless man. "You should feel like assholes dear child, you have turned your back on a village that housed you, fed you and gave you protection. Shame." The audible click of tongue echoed around them, shuffling as well. "However you will find no such penance here, it is obvious only to me that your arrival is either to stop us, or join the cause, so I ask to you three--" a flip of pages, rustling "Titania...Loki..." This other man wasn't registered, a new graduate? Perfect for the means of manipulation! Young and impressionable, red headed, much like himself, they might share a kinsbond if everything went well.

"My question is simple, for there is only one answer, are you willing to do whatever it takes to remove the heretics clinging to thee remnants of the past? Yes or no?" From overhead what sounded like plastic began to crinkle overhead, stopping a few feet from overhead. The silence was heavy and all it would take was a simple one word answer to break that silence, he kept eyes on the one who had cast the Genjutsu and another pair was on Loki, waiting for whatever joyful affliction Braum had cast to began REALLY taking effect.

The villagers that had remained behind were getting restless and he didn't blame them. They had just witnessed a few ninja gone rogue and join the other side and the remaining few that were left were still standing around and chatting on what to do rather than actually setting anything in motion. Even the shopkeeper was doubting their prowess in handling the situation and the Kedoin could only grit his teeth and ask Hiro to follow him, under his breath, so they would set off in the direction of the Tower. However he was not so foolish as to directly stroll into the lobby of where his enemies were situated, first they needed to get in a position from which they could perform some reconnaissance. From their current position they weren't that far from the Tower so he would look for a shop or building that was closest to the entrance of the Tower and then jump on its roof. 

Then he would make use of the capabilities of his Goggles and use their various functions and modes to discern what was going on inside the Tower. The X-Ray function could give him some idea of the layout inside, coupled with Thermal Vision an estimate of how many people were inside, as well as what items they were carrying. Hopefully his attempt would work and he could glean some information. After that he would reach into his cloak out the wireless radio he carried on him since the day the Kage advised him to, their enemies may be using radios to communicate and it would allow him to listen in on their conversation. The look on his face as he realized he left it at home was priceless. He would have started screaming and yelling if it were not for his remarkable self-control and manipulation of his cells to keep the expression on his face even. It would be stupid to lose it now, he just had to grit his teeth and hope for the best.

Should Hiro accompany him the Kedoin would pull out a Sadilla nut from the herb bag around his neck and hand him one, telling him to eat it as it would be good for his chakra reserves while taking one himself. If there was ever a time to eat these

This skill is important for ferreting out advancing enemies or ambushes, generally real-time events and actions occurring, versus scrutiny, which covers static objects or areas. A Game Master may roll an Observation skill check for a Character any time there is an NPC, monster, event or happening that a character might notice, even if he did not specifically state that he is monitoring his surroundings. Characters are capable of noticing any event within their perception. Observation reveals only facts, not motivation. Each time learned user gets 1 die roll to increase the skill. If you are Schooled in Anthropology you gain a +10% synergy bonus with Observation checks that involve noticing disguise checks.

[Madame Loki]

Loki looked around as they seemed to be engulfed in darkness. He squinted his eyes to try and see if he could somehow pierce the darkness, but he stopped when he heard the voice in the darkness speak. Loki sucked on his teeth when he man mentioned them turning his back on the village that clothed, and him. Loki rolled his eyes, as the last time he checked, he was the one cooking his own eggs this morning...excuse me, boiling his cheap noodles, as that's all he could afford at the moment. It also wasn't lost on him that these people were doing the same thing were they not? Unless he was trying to claim that they were not part of the current incarnation of Konoha. 

Loki was about to voice his opinions, but the man continued on with his speech. As Loki listened to the man talk one word in particular called out to him, 'heretics'. Loki facial expression didn't change, but in his mind he thought, "Heretics, huh? Oh brother...at best their a bunch of religious nut bags, at worst their a bunch of suicidal cultist." Loki was about to him his answer, but then something caught his attention. There seemed to be spectral chains starting to crawl up his arms and wrap themselves around his arms and legs. He did not realize it yet but he had a genjutsu cast upon him. Loki looked down at the chains as they made their way up his arms and legs.

"The Hell is this shit! Can I at least answer first you ASSHOLES?!" Loki shouted as he continued to watch the chains and then his attention was immediately drawn in front of him to see an orbitoclast and  hammer floating out in front of him. As soon as Loki saw this his heart sank. Were they going to lobotomize him? Were they going to making him a complacent particularly brain dead slave to their will? Loki's breathing started to pick up a bit, as he couldn't believe this was happening. He had never told anyone, but getting a lobotomy was his greatest fear. Not the process but what the process would turn him into.

Loki could understand why they would do this, but there were several things that didn't make any sense. Why would they target him, before hearing his answer? Why make him complacent with a lobotomy? Surely there was a ninja in there ranks that could place a genjutsu on a practically  fresh genin such as himself?....Genjtusu, Loki's heavy breathing quickly slowed as the the orbitoclast, and hammer got closer this eye.

It was pitch black he couldn't see two inches in front of his face, but now he was clearly seeing chains and lobotomy equipment? Not only that but he could see the chains clearly, but the darkness made it difficult to get a clear look at his actually body, and the chains weren't creating a light source. He actually started to pay more attention as the initial shock had worn. The chains had no tactile sensation, along with everything else he witness he knew they weren't real. So that meant none of this lobotomy garbage was real, at least he hoped. 

Loki didn't know who cast the genjutsu, or even if it was in fact a genjutsu. He was still relatively no to the whole being a ninja thing, there was no telling what people were capable of of. However, he at least had to try. Loki flicked his wrist and a Kunia came from out of his wrappings. He quickly squatted down sending the back of his kunia into his pinky toe, planning to break the bone in his toe, to use the pain  to dispel the genjutsu from his mind. As the kunia connected to his pinky toe he could hear the bone break. The man wanted to know if he would do what every it took, "SON OF A WHORING BITCH!!!!!!!!! YES!... that fuck'in hurt." 

As far as Loki knew, he meant what he said for the moment, but it wasn't completely unlike him to change his mind at a moments notice for little to no reason at all. As it stood this side seemed like they held the advantage, and winning was always fun. Although his had more pressing matters to deal with in his immediate future. This genjtusu, and it's caster, if it was not in fact the man who was questioning him, and his now broken pinky toe where his primary concerns.

Titania would be too busy writhing on the floor to pay attention to Loki's predicament. She was trying to figure out why she couldn't see anything but whiteness. What was once a black void was now whiter than a Klan meeting. The Hyuuga would reluctantly shut her doujutsu off and get to her feet. She wasn't all too happy about being toyed with so she answered the voice's question with a resounding "Oh hell no" shortly after Loki finished with his own little shpeal. She guessed that he had been hurt in some way, because he didn't sound too happy with his 'yes' answer.

If given the chance to continue, she would. She didn't really know what direction to face, so she'd just stand there several feet from Loki.

"First off, I'm morally against killing so you can just forget about asking me to do that. Secondly, I'm here because I am all for a change in leadership as long as it's done with as little bloodshed as possible. I guess now's the time to figure out if there's a place for me in your order or if things are going to get a bit messy."

At that, Titania would let go of her crossbow and pull on the strap so that it would end up on hanging loosely at her back. It was time to prepare for the worst and try to figure out exactly where Loki was in case things went any more south.

Good, so far the people or the duo weren't taking any interest in her. This was good, from this position she has heard everything they were talking about. Even that shopkeeper was angry and scared at the same time. The Duchess thought what the shopkeeper said was very disrespectful, the ninja needed to plan things, not just rush in. She almost wanted to step in, however that would only create some more chaos which they didn't need right now. The rest of the villagers seemed restless already, the situation might get out of hand real fast but there was nothing the shinobi could do. One of the ninjas was pretty chatty, thanks to him more secrets about this situation was revealed. He spoke of some Hyuuga girl, the Hyuuga clan and their visual prowess could be useful in this situation but they seemed to have a slight grudge on her.

Whatever happened between them will probably be revealed soon by this shinobi who chose to ignore what the shopkeeper just said altogether. Pheh, so far this guy turned out to be good for nothing, the other one looked like he at least had something in mind. The group moved closer to the tower, why did it always have to be a tower she wondered. Since the dawn of time this village was always ruled by a tower of some sorts, even during her time. Zaraki was using some of his goggles modes, hopefully it tells him what's inside. She on the other hand had better means, just a slight concentration brought her sensory powers to life. They were merely 80 m plus or minus from the tower, a perfect range for her to discern who was inside and how many. The Duchess remembers all chakra signatures when seen, her mind has registered those of the duo and the rest of those in range.

Too bad she couldn't gauge their strength as well, that would give her a better idea of how to proceed. Her Mind's Eye reached for about 100 m, able to pierce even walls and see what's on the other side. In just a seconds she was finished, although still leaving her senses active just in case. The duo were eating something, she couldn't make it out what it was, her guess would be maybe a soldier pill. After all they planned on doing something.

In this darkness, my sight was hindered severely. It was as if though one had cast a dark shroud over my eyes and nothing, not even my hands directly in front of me could be seen. But still, sounds could be heard... like the sound of a female falling to the floor in anguish. I could only assume that it was the horse-riding woman who had succumbed to perhaps tripping in this darkness; and as she rose to stand, she made known her true intentions. I could not gauge her power nor her ability as a kunoichi of Leaf; but as with my previous success, I ventured into the realm of Phantasm to attempt to cause her some mental duress, as I had done with the screaming child. It was a pleasure to sense him struggling within the loom of my genjutsu; I produced a giggle and my hands moved into seals as he screamed from a self-inflicted injury.

Help us destroy Konoha! I boomed in a Phantasmal Whisper towards the woman objected to killing others. What purpose had she come here for if not for the total elimination of a dead cause? The small group here, had we all been selected to join the ranks of Anti-Leaf, would be perhaps the new leaders of an umbral society. The thought brought pleasure to my senses as my anonymous message floated towards the kunoichi.

Of course, in a similar fashion, I spoke towards the voice who called out to us: "I am," in saying so, I even dropped to a knee to pledge my allegiance to this dark guild. Who ever they were, they had a similar motive as me and apparently enough power to cause even the ANBU a bit of trouble. For what reason would I not join them? As I arose, I would go to yet another length to prove my usefulness: the production of aqueous doppelgangers. Following the required set of kata, whatever faucets in the LEAF TOWER that operated properly would spout water as my chakra manipulated it into form. To keep up with my current guise, the three Mizu Bunshin would look just like I did while I masqueraded around as Sophus. They would walk into the room, subconsciously connected to me despite whatever darkness encompassed the area; like a moth to a flame, they were drawn in by my specific chakra signature alone---as one would expect from a elemental replication.

As four, we would stand and await further orders. Right now, no one within the Hokage's Tower seemed to be a problem to this new regime. Had anyone chosen to burst into the tower, they would do so blinded and foolishly; and that would be their swift downfall. My only points of frustration would arise in my ethos had the woman not decided to plot against this village whole-hearted-ly. The child, he was nothing but fodder in my eyes and had either one of them chose to act against this new and unknown leader of mine, then I would send them to a watery grave...

Back outside the tower there was little to comment. With a close enough range the goggles could see of so far through the wood, with the basic settings of X-ray it was possible to see the Hyuuga gal, Loki, Braum and over their heads hanging onto something were 3 bodies suspended over their heads, arms extended as if to ambush. The thermal would prove useless as it would merely obscure the scanning of the X-ray with bright florescent light.

The outsider and her long range of scope would see easily into the tower. She would sense everyone from her position to the tower. Hiro, Zakari, Titania, Braum, Loki, she could sense the three ninja above them, the two men standing behind the receptionist desk and over fifty people gathered in the lobby,. Their exact bodily positions, standing or sitting, hostage or participant would not be a direct reveal merely their chakra presence

With the loud screech of Loki he would note that all those images shattered instantly and that his vision returned merely to that of the black room. A bright smile was worn by certain observers of the actions taking place and even more handseals raised curious brows. This one, Braum, seemed very much interested in the things to come. Loki, with his broken toe, would find himself suffering a loss of 1/4th of his movements until the toe was either healed or removed.

Braum' seals would find themselves useless. Without a proper knowledge of the layout of the tower or how deep the water supply tanks ran, there would be no way to accurately pull water from the faucets, let alone manipulate the valves to turn through the sheer force of will or water, it would literally just explode if the water were to attempt freedom. It was noted of his due diligence that he was dedicated to the cause to some degree.

Titania was the black sheep of this group and with her disgustingly keen senses hindered by the chakra fog, her answer sealed her fate. A dis satisfied click of the tongue amid the darkness would possibly hint just how sad it was she would not be joining them. However she could hear the phantasmal whisper though with her prowess of mental fortitude she could easily discern that it was merely a Genjutsu.

The answers came to little surprise to the mysteriously voiced man at the end of it all. At the feet of Braum and Loki clattered something, light but clearly with a few metal reinforcements. How unfortunate for Titania. "Your former villagemate Titania seems reluctant to do what it takes for change. At your feet my new colleagues, you will find specially adapted low light dark vision lenses. Kill her. Now." Titania herself would not even be acknowledged at said point, merely deigned to be executed. There would be a bit of audible muffle, a loud wet thud and the heavy grunt of someone in the background, feminine by pitch.

[Madame Loki]

Loki let out a sigh of both annoyance and relief as the genjutsu faded away. He grimaced as the pain in his foot, was very sharp. Loki knew that putting any pressure on it was going to cause problems. He had already took of this as he struck his foot, and almost immediately after he existed the genjutsu he started to make handseals, and the sand out of barrel on his back started to spill out, and pool underneath Loki. As the sand began to form he heard 2 things. The first was Titiana’s stupid response. Loki just shook his head; the girl was most defiantly crazy. When the leader of a psychotic cult asks you a question, you give him the answer he wants to hear…ALWAYS.

The second sound he heard was the sound of something hitting the sand that was forming in front of him. The sand quietly elevated Loki and the equipment off the ground. As the sand cloud lifted off the ground, Loki descended his body and started to lay down on the sand, seemingly lounging on his sand cloud. He put the lens on and immediately he could see through the darkness and at everything around him. “Oh these are awesome!!! I can see everything!” Loki shouted as he started to look around the room like an idiot. As he looked around the room he took notice of Titiana’s position, as his sand cloud seemed to aimlessly drift closer to her location as the leader spoke, until it was in front of her. When he got in front of her,  he stared at her, as he sat up placing his legs in front of him. Leaving the other half of the sand cloud that held his legs floating there vacant.

He then heard his “new leader” tell him that Titiana wasn’t willing to do what it took, and that she needed to be killed. Loki reacted instantly, without missing a beat. The sand cloud exploded forward as he took his low light lens off with his right hand and reached out to grab Titiana’s arm with his left in one motion. He then said to her in a very uncharacteristically serious tone, “It’s time for us to go.” Loki knew from the moment he was placed in that genjutsu that these guys were no good. Of course he didn’t realize that Braum was the one that put him into the genjutsu, but it still worked out for him in the end. He had plans to leave the instant he had gotten out of it, and now he just had a little extra incentive.

If Titaina didn’t resist he would use his forward momentum, to place her on the sand cloud with him. She would be facing the enemies at Loki’s back, while he would be facing the open door. Once on the sand cloud she would feel the low light lens pressing against her. Loki hoped she would have the presents of mind to grab them to help ward off anyone who would pursue them as he raced them out the door. If Titiania resisted he would still attempt to make his escape flying through the door and into the open if no one would stop him/them. If they hadn’t realized it already, they soon would. Nothing Loki did was ever truly without reason, he maybe a loud mouth crazy asshole, but he was far from stupid or helpless. Although he realized that he had a target on his back now. He was probably the only one who had a clear picture of the enemies forces. And he wouldn't have it any other way, after all... that's what made the game fun.

The Cloud of sand is strong enough to keep the user placed on top of the cloud and stand within midair on top of a cloud. This technique is used for escaping or traveling purposes.

When the user learns this technique the user is capable of moving in the same amount of movements per round as himself in which designates as to how fast this Sand Cloud can become.

Completely blind, sentenced to death, and unable to give her little speech. Well this was a change of plans! Titania would never have had the chance to put away her crossbow. This was probably for the best because she was getting rather impatient with these people. She would shoot three more of her oh so effective tear gas tipped, screaming shafted bolts. They would be aimed both five, ten and fifteen meters from her current position. The actual direction of her shots would be completely random aside from definitely not being shot at Loki, who's positioning she was somewhat aware of.

Titania would then dolphin dive forwards by three feet as she triggered her multi-crossbow mechanism to switch to her flare-tipped bolts. This process would take yet another second but would allow her enough time to aim her flare bolts straight up and fire twice. Now, it was time to drop her crossbow and get to business. If uninterrupted, Loki would have place his arm around her's which was very convenient because she had just started to spin. Perhaps he would take a hint and let go before she fully revved up as holding onto a spinning Hyuuga was a sure way to upset one's stomach.
"Find the kage god damnit!" She would yell.

A ten meter radius dome of pure chakra would be emitted from the woman's tenketsu as she spun to win. She would spin for the remainder of the round unless she was forced to stop somehow. Her crossbow would be picked up by her spinning motion and would be thrown through the air in a random direction. With any luck, the flares would go off within a few more seconds and grant vision to the victimized Hyuuga and completely blind those people with their night vision bullshit.
