Character Depth
Personality:
Tomoko is a true believer in upholding justice in her own way, although she isn't quite sure what justice is outside of sentai shows and comic books and thus has become somewhat dramatic when it comes to the world of shinobi believing that a shinobi needs to be a hero for all people. With this rule of thumb Tomoko follows some odd rules in her life mostly derived from her comics this includes avoiding killing others, helping with any task given to her and genuinely trying her best to be a hero.
Although she may not be very strong in the ways of combat she tends to focus on utilizing her skills to assist others in combat. Although this may be seen as a lack of self confidence it is rather an understanding of her position, though she doesn't show fear (on the outside atleast) she has realized that she is not "The 6th Member" or the hero to the show and would rather support those she feels fits that role better.
In terms of friendship, Tomoko has a tendency to call back to her dramatics going out of her way to help her friends and trying her best to ensure that everyone gets along. She finds herself as the heart of many groups and tends to be a pure loyalist to whoever she deems a hero. Unfortunately, this leaves Tomoko's heart open to being broken or let down when people don't meet her high standards. This can leave her to be very vulnerable when it comes to being manipulated.
Tomoko does have a darkside to a degree, not in the sense of an edgy teen or a hidden demon headmate but rather she tends to be empathic to a point of fault and thus is able to tend to 'alter' herself to a degree to fit in. This, obviously, can be seen as quite manipulative.
Appearance:
Tomoko has a tendency to be a little on the hippy side, her raven black hair unstyled and long, her eyes shaded in dark rings and never a shoe on her feet. With only a ragged white hoodie on her that works as a dress she looks like something of a homeless child. She tends to stand quite short, even for her age and doesn't seem to be growing in the slightest possibly due to her diet of exclusively greens, nuts and water. Because of this she is quite trim and lean but has no mass or muscle to her instead letting her 'bugs do the work' as it was. Being on the short side as well she is easily overlooked or mistaken for a child much younger than her age and hasn't grown since around 9 years old when she was seen as tall for her age. This lead her to find arrested development in a lot of activities mostly in the way of sports and the like and her sheltered house life has lead her to become quite pale.
Her eyes are green, raven black hair as said and a crooked near cat like mouth that curls at the end slightly giving her the look of a permanent frown. Her body is like that of a young boy, with no figure and something of a hollowed chest, coupled with her posture and her inability to keep her hair maintained she is often mistaken as a ghost or the like at certain times of night.
Her voice is a croaking yet high pitched tone reminiscent of a toddler that had been smoking since the womb, a stutter here and there followed by a low inflection on words causing the croak to become more prominent.
In combat Tomoko tends to wear a gas mask, mostly due to her obsession with poison and long drawn out strategies in battle. Whilst she plays a support role the idea of hindering an enemy with status effects is key part to any strategy she has and will tend to favor the mask as soon as a whiff of battle comes. When not in battle it tends to hang around her neck usually just outside of her hoodie.
Tomoko's posture is terrible and she tends to stand as if pidgeon toed, her toes pointing inward and her hands usually kept behind her back. Her demeanor is usually of that of somewhat glum despite her idealism and glorification of others, tending to opt for a relaxed and aloof sort of disposition when approaching others though it is blatantly obvious she is putting it on.
Background:
Tomoko grew up in an average house hold, nothing noticeably special about her or her family in the slightest outside of being shinobi. Her father is a keen shogi player and her mother a fantastic cook, two skills she inherited. When she killed her parents- nah just kidding, they're both fine. Tomoko tended to get a C average grade wise, always just passing but never failing entirely or wowing anybody. In short, Tomoko is average. Average at everything. She may know strategy, but she isn't the greatest strategist, she may know how to cook but she is no gourmet chef. She is simply a young girl who has a tendency to mess around with bugs.
When she was quite young her family migrated from the Land of Fire to Yukigakure for a better life, not to say their life was terrible in the land of fire was one of hardship but more so that they needed a fresh start so what would be the best way to start a new from the flames? Well, ice of course!
Yukigakure proved to be something that honed Tomoko's sense of the world, whilst in the hotter villages running about and jumping from tree to tree was a common occurance in the harsh winters it was more practical to stay in doors and thus she did, reading away and watching old sentai shows.
Growing up Tomoko tended to find her school days alone, eating alone, reading alone, playing alone and due to this had a tendency to be - well - alone. She grew up without too many friends but had a feeling when a team would be formed for Yukigakure it'd be the time to start making such bonds. Until then, she kept her head down and studied ensuring that she would pass her exams atleast barely so that she might one day reach that goal of joining a team and forming bonds like the characters from her shows and books.
Currently Tomoko is attempting to find her 'hero', the person she would give her life for and her quest is ever ongoing to find that person she would die for.
