Ryutatsu due to his kenjutsu nature became fascinated with a technique tree of the Ikebana that would allow him to create another kind of katana. Unlike his other katana techniques this would be made up of multiple real flowers and able to handle most of his kenjutsu brethren. It wouldn't be an easy tree for him to learn however. But the combinations available to his imagination were numerous. But for everything there was a beginning and his beginning was simple.
Ryutatsu had to focus his chakra into the flowers to make them have steel like edges. Normally a flower's petals was quite flimsy but this technique would change that. The purpose would be a building block for later techniques but this one already had uses. For the petals would shoot off ten meters in every direction and act like Kunai. This would be a nice surprise for his enemies.
Ryutatsu also like this series of Ikebana techniques for another reason. It was because he saw Shiki and other Kyoudo as a rival. But with his clan's mastery over the electron forces of magnetism and electricity fighting another Kyoudo was difficult. More so because mastery of their heritage made it hard to surprise a Kyoudo with a lot of the weapons. But with his Ikebana techniques that lacked any metal was another story. This would put the advantage in his realm.
Ryutatsu knew it always went better when one was well prepared. Anyway getting to the actual technique instead of visualizing the use of the technique he channeled chakra into the petals of the flowers he had around him. He flooded the flower that he had chosen with his chakra until it was ready. It gained the properties of steel like hardness without the magnetic limitations of electron flow.
Suddenly when it was ready the Petals flew out from the Flower striking deep into the bark of a tree that was too close to the flower. Once it struck the flower lost its consistency and fell to the ground soft as it's usual nature was. If used right the flower would be a deadly surprise. And the was Ryutatsu's Point in learning the techniques a Shinobi's life was deadly. And to live in it one must be more deadly than the opponent.
