Yoko had no prior experience with formal acting training, she had never been so much as a stage hand never mind taking part in a school performance or anything of that nature. She was however quite skilled at playing different roles when required, or at least she believed herself to be—this was in part because of her role as a ninja, she was frequently required to hide her true feelings from her opponent. Allowing an opponent to discover that you were, in fact, a ninja, could make for a troublesome encounter.
If they were aware of your identity, they could prepare a countermeasure, guard against an oncoming attack, or perhaps even worse alert those around them. Sounding off an alarm was in most cases a shinobi’s worst fear, well perhaps that was an exaggeration, but it certainly put an end to any stealth tactics one was attempting to use.

Thus, it was important to convince them that you were someone else, or at the very least someone who harboured no ill will towards them. Logically speaking there were thousands of ninja within each of the major hidden villages and even the smaller ones were the home to several hundred, as such it was foolish to believe that you knew everyone. Thus, Yoko did not have to convince a fellow ninja that she was not a ninja.
Rather she simply needed to convince them that she was a ninja from their village, or on some kind of peace mission. The options were near endless, but the first option was highly preferred after all one might look upon an outsider with a sense of distrust, even if they did not act on it for fear of the repercussions: killing someone under your kage’s protection was often a foolish idea.

The underclass, unemployed and poor, they were the lowest social stratum in a community hence the name. From Yoko’s experience as a member of a nomad had discovered that these people were not all that different from anyone else, and in fact, if anyone was to be deserving of discrimination it was, in fact, the upper class, the exact reverse of the underclass. The lower class readily accepted people into their own houses and the like.
Perhaps this was a result of being a nomad but the youth had often found herself blending in with criminals and other vagabonds. Once you got to know them they were often just normal people, who had turned to a life of crime out of necessity rather than by choice. After all, what was someone to do when they had no money, mouths to feed and no notable skills? So, as it turned out if you offered these people a slice of understanding, and accepted them for who they were rather than discriminate against them without getting to know them first, that they could actually be quite helpful.
Yoko also knew that select characters in stories had tried this and had great success, Sherlock Holmes was an example, and if it were good enough for him, it was good enough for Yoko. She soon sought to it that she developed her own network of connections, bolstering her acting, through supporting references. Her knowledge of the local area, and ability to know the motives of people through the collection of rumours. And her observational skills, by listening to tales of escaping from the law.

Having been introduced to the basics of how to act Yoko now sought to incorporate said acting skill into her combat style. The youth sorted through various scrolls and spoke to her clansmen all with the aim of adding some benefitting to her combative style. Eventually, she came across a style, or rather a stance: Wolf style. When one adopted said stance it had a particular effect on their feints, it made the user harder to strike.
While this certainly did not improve her probability of hitting home with a feint, it did increase the benefit that she derived from it. The problem was that it was a stance, and to use her bow she already had to adopt a different stance, namely, a marksman based one. Thus, the two were incompatible. This did not rule out close quarters combat, however, so the youth was still keen to learn the technique and thus use it on the battlefield.
As the youth read more and more into the technique and continued to practise it she was soon to pick up on its limitations and benefits, first she could not use this new-found concealment as a source for a sneak attack, second, it did not stack with light based concealment. Thus, when fighting in dim light this technique was practically worthless, but this was only when fighting someone without darkvision. Against someone who had the capacity to see in the dark, this technique would still provide concealment—assuming the feint was successful.

haHAA what a prankster! That’s what they said about Yoko. Only they did not. Yoko had never been known as a prankster within her clan, but that did not necessarily mean that she was bad at pulling pranks—quite the opposite in fact—nor did it mean that she was poor in relation to everyone in general. No, whilst the youth fell short of what a prankster in the Inuzuka would normally be when compared to those outside of the clan Yoko could be perceived one.
This was because of the nature of the clan: everyone was up to no good, they all enjoyed playing tricks and generally playing around. Thus, Yoko’s own subtler brand of pranks often went overlooked, with nobody ever figuring out that she was the one who had pulled them. Naturally, this environment was quite constructive for one such as Yoko, who was learning how to augment their sleight of hand abilities.
Fast movement and nimble hands were not reserved solely for masters of the chakra arts. The Inuzuka clan was living reference to this fact, and thus the youth found it rather easy to pick up the art of hiding daggers on her person, her umbite knife blends in with surprising ease. And thus, from this, the youth could further develop her sleight of hand, hiding small coins and the like was a trivial task for her.

Yoko had never really been one for crafting, or at least so she thought. Her initial preconception of crafting was working on something to create a masterwork: the lock on a chest, a beautiful katana that could cut steel, or maybe a set of well-fitting clothes. The youth had never really considered that she was, in fact, a natural crafter all this time, after all, she was well versed in bushcraft and as the name implied it heavily involved crafting.
For example, when Yoko was out in the wild and required a place to stay the night she would, in fact, create a small shelter from the environment, the same was true for the fire. Thus, at every stage of her life, she had been a crafter as were all Inuzuka, as they had no home and were nomadic the clan had to constantly move around and recreate things. Even the weaponry that the youth had initially fashioned in the wild could be considered crafting.
Taking the bone from the jaw of an animal and fashioning a spear out of it by attaching it to a piece of wood, a branch cut from a nearby tree. While it might have been primitive to some, to Yoko and her clansmen it was this type of sustainable easy to make craft, that could make the difference between life and death. It took only a few moments to fashion an effective quarter staff whilst crafting an equivalent weapon from metal could have taken weeks.

The third and final technique in this tree of knowledge passed down amongst pack members, Yoko felt that it was an extension of the clan’s renowned memory, but apparently, the two were mutually exclusive events, you could, in theory, have both but it was not a necessity. This final technique revolved around understanding the environment you were in and automatically remembering how to return there. It was quite the talent.
The youth was keen to understand how one was able to achieve such a feat, did you look for natural landmarks and cross reference them building up a mental image from which you could navigate? The reality was much more depressing—or exciting depending on your viewpoint—one simply remembered. There was no given reason, no foreplanning, simply just a mental understanding as if pre-programmed into your body.
Yoko reasoned that it was the same thing that caused animals to migrate, or to hibernate for winter. They simply knew how to do it, from which Yoko would be able to navigate to any place she had ever been, and recall with perfect accuracy the geographical makeup of it. Perfect, she had been looking for a skill like this for a while. With it she could memorise and relay information for the ANBU, recalling exact layouts of areas, thus allowing them to drill missions over and over.

By its very definition, a forced march was quite the task, generally undertaken for an exact purpose rather than taken lightly. The exact definition of said march was one that exceeded eight hours, under normal circumstances one would take a break after carrying such a task out. But in certain situations, this was impossible—or at least inadviseable—for example when being pursued, or acting as the pursuer.
Imagine that the Mizukage has been kidnapped, and you were on their tail. The last thing you would want to do after an extended period of following the opponent is to break just to make camp, no the ability to keep going was essential in this regard. As the distance generated between the two targets, was simply relative speed, the speed at which the opponent outpaced the pursuer. When either party stopped, this distance changed drastically.
If Yoko was top stop, then her opponents relative speed increases to their actual speed and they add quite a distance to her—potentially even escaping. And the same is true for if her opponent stops, their speed drops to zero and thus Yoko would close the distance by her rate of pace. Given both parties can be assumed to have around the same level of speed when moving, it was these small windows which ultimately made the difference in a chase.

The forced march was taxing on the body, and with each passing hour, the difficulty checks one would be required to pass increased, failure to make the check induced nonlethal damage and fatigue. A crippling condition by all accounts. Thus, by learning this technique, Yoko saw to it that she would be better able to resist, and thus march for a longer period before becoming tired out all other things being equal.
Of course, if her opponent had trained their body through other means this advantage would be negated or lessened to an extent, but such a mentality was a poor reason not to learn a technique. As such the youth continued to drill the marching exercise long into the early hours of the next day. And in doing so started to build up a resistance to fatigue and exhaustion. Even chakra Jutsu that would normally induce such an effect seemed to lessen.
This was not the only change that the youth noticed, she also started to notice that the suns intense rays no longer caused her as much damage. She no longer felt such a draining of energy, normally spending hours under the sun could cause heat stroke but Yoko felt none of the normal symptoms. And upon further investigation the same held true for cold weather conditions: she no longer felt the negative effects of the cold, bare extremely low temperatures. Safe to say she had built up a resistance.

The youth sought to build on her prior training with regard to heat resistance, through the careful study of a clan technique. As Yoko’s clan were from the Badlands, they had spent a large amount of time in the desert and other such areas, in which the temperature could reach extreme highs. A vital part of living in such an environment was hydration, young pups frequently died in periods of drought.
Thus, it made the development of a chakra based technique a logical next step, the clan had devised a method in which they would no longer require water. That was to say that they could not be dehydrated by the sun’s rays nor the humidity in a jungle. It was quite a simple technique in nature, but that was its beauty, it was a short and easy solution to what can become an extremely difficult situation.
As anyone who had even been dying of first would have known, a lack of water really is no joke. In fact, Yoko was of the belief that mother nature’s wrath was harsher than any Jutsu, try walking for days with no water and see how far you get. With this, the youth was able to withstand the baking sun up to one-hundred-and-forty degrees Fahrenheit, a substernal increase over what a normal ninja should be capable of.

Limit: Must be an Inuzuka member.

This technique was in Yoko’s opinion a steal: she gained a sizable advantage when dealing with her companions and other members of the canine family tree for a start. This in and of itself was a good boon, given that Yoko interacted with such an animal on a daily basis, the twenty additional points into the skill checks were not to be taken lightly. It also helped her with the other purpose of the skill, appeasing guard dogs and the like.
By boosting her capacity as an animal handler, she could ‘disarm’ guard dogs in most cases at least, and if given the chance could possibly even appease the companions of enemies. As such this technique was on Yoko’s list to learn. The second part of the technique was just gravy, the ability to speak with them was quite cool. She would have basically become The Dog Whisper; the thought alone was enough to make her laugh out.
Throughout the day, the youth observed her companion—Johan—and worked to mimic his speech pattern this combine with some helpful assistance from the clan elders meant that Yoko was eventually able to communicate in canine. And thus, she was able to talk with Johan and discuss battle plans if need be. This was certainly a boon, as she could now ask trivial questions of the canine, for example, how many opponents he detected.
