Animal Mimicry
Rank: "E"
Skill: Skill
Effect: A character with this skill can imitate noises made by various animals.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: This skill allows the user to imitate any animal and/or monster noises that he is familiar with. This may be for common birds and farm animals, but the howls, cries, grunts, and bellows of monsters require the character to hear the noise at least twice before they can mimic it. Higher skill levels allow imitating louder and more complex sounds as well as ensuring a greater success rate. A successful check mimics the noise precisely, but a failed check means that the sound is wrong in some way (pitch, resonance or volume). Creatures and persons familiar with the noise detect the fraud, but other creatures or characters in earshot could try to determine if they detect the fakery (assuming they know anything at all about the actual sounds). Those clueless to that particular beast are duped. Hunters often use Animal Mimicry to fool animals while scouts use this skill to send signals to their allies. Look in Task Skills thread found in the Skills and Traits Index for more information. Each time learned user gets 5 die roll to increase the skill.

Ever heard the cry of an albino mongoose, or perhaps that of a rare spotted-salmon? No? Well, Yoko hadn’t either, in fact, she had no comprehension what so ever, she couldn’t even conceptualise what sound these animals would make. Did the mongoose bark, surely it made some kind of squeaking noise? As for the fish did it just splash about frantically? The whole situation seemed very confusing for Yoko.
Pausing for a moment she thought it best to start with some easier cries, stuff that anyone could make. After all any half decent cry of a dragon would scare an adventurer, right? It was the smaller, well-known calls that she needed to know, as they were the most likely to be opposed by an opponent? Or at least that was Yoko train of thought. Rising to her feet she let out a cry.
