Claire was the last member of Blitz Squadron to arrive, and it seemed as if things were already getting heated, with an argument and even physical violence breaking out. The Sakurai wanted nothing to do with that nonsense and felt like she would probably be fine as long as she avoided the more volatile circumstances in the area.
Her garb was her typical combat gear, a white coat over a mithral chain-lined crop shirt and mithral pauldron on her left shoulder with her Leaf band threaded through gaps in the front, a combat skirt with utility belt, leather boots and gauntlets with steel backing, and a leg pouch containing several clips of ammo for the signature crossblade hanging in its sheath behind her thighs. All of her clothing was of exceptional quality, of the kind wealthy nobles might wear, though it was also slightly fireproofed and could be torn away from her body in an instant without causing any permanent damage.
Her crossblade, the Blazefire Saber, was a unique transforming weapon which could mechanically transition between two forms: a curved longsword with pyro and cryo enhancements, and a heavily upgraded standard crossbow with an internal configuration bearing a DNA lock in its pistol grip, a red dot sight and scope, a removable stock, and a stabilizer. It was also easily disassembled for repairs and further modifications. In crossbow mode, the sword blade ran along the bottom of the barrel, allowing the pyro and cryo enhancements to transfer heat and cold energy into the bottom bolt of the currently equipped magazine, which was currently nothing but plain ordinary broad head bolts with razor fletching.
The spare clips of ammunition in her leg pouch consisted of two additional magazines of ordinary bolts like what was currently loaded, and a magzine each of more specialized high-impact and explosive lightning rounds. In an otherwise empty pocket was also a gem of vitality and an awareness stone, as well as a recently earned colemans travelling stone.
Strapped to her left forearm was an unremarkable lightweight buckler, while her right bore a sleek and shiny P.I.P.-Boy unit. She was also outfitted with several jewels - a white agate lightning stone and a pearl gem of the wise in either ear, a skull of strength and a skull of the ghost as rings on either hand, a spirit amber navel piercing barely visible in the gap exposed by the open bottom of her coat, a brooch with a fear charm setting, and a pendant with an all seeing eye.
Her utility belt's pouches carried numerous holodisks and grenades of various types such as those to inflict elemental damage or create smoke cover or even seal enemy movements, as well as different sword oils for dealing effective damage against various types of creatures, some blood clot and soldier pills, and a fast healing herb.
She signed up with the exams committee confidently with her true name as Claire Sakurai of Konohagakure. There was no need for aliases here. The specialized seal for the event she was comfortable being placed wherever was easiest for the caster, and would obligingly remove or adjust apparel to allow easier access as needed.
She would have to find a good perch to keep a safe distance from, maybe a couple dozen meters or so, away from the action, while being able to keep an eye on it. Ordinarily she would greet her allies first and foremost, but that could wait until she could find a path to them that didn't risk earning unnecessary ire from the other competitors.
