Aquan (Tongue of the Sea)
Rank: "D"
Skill: Skill
Effect: A language spoken by Aquatic and water-based creatures.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: The so-called "tongue of the sea" is spoken primarily in the sunken world—those who trade frequently with the ocean lovers often speak this tongue as well. Aquan grew from a proto-elemental language which was the progenitor of all elemental languages. Much of its vocabulary is taken up with water-related terms. It is a guttural language with many long syllables made up of dense, throaty sounds. Each time learned user gets 5 die roll to increase the skill.

Takius enters the clearing, one of her favorite spots in the Village as she strolls along to a tree near by. Once there she sits up against the cool bark of the tree and places her bag next to it. From her bag she pulls out her most recent purchase, a baby blue text book on the ancient language of water creatures. Most common villagers probably just passed this by as they looked for something to read but this shaman saw the true potential in it. You see, some creatures of this world and beyond speak elemental languages.
Languages that are tired to the element they align with. As a shaman it is Takius' duty to communicate with the spirits and elements. Although she has connected to Earth, Wind and Fire her strongest connection is Water so she thought it would be best to start there while studying these languages. With this she opened the text and started to read.
The language of Aquan, also known as the language of the sea is used when communicating with aquatic creatures and spirits of water. The language itself is nothing like the human common language and thus is hard to master for humans untouched by the element. The first thing you need to know when learning Aquan is that most Aquan creatures have deep voices that most thing are hard to understand. When in reality the language ITSELF is very deep in a creature's register and sits in the back of the throat. For example the word for HELLO is zdravo . Now you may pronounce this Ze-Drae-Vo but really you need to push it back in your throat almost like you are chocking on it and it should sound like ZDrau-vo.
Takius looked up for a second, moved her tongue to the back of of her mount and gargled out a very broken up "Z-dra-u-vo" she looked disgusted with herself. "Gah! It feels like I am just gargling on the word instead of pronouncing it." It will probably feel more naturally as her training goes on... hopefully.
