Hey everyone! Gift Giver here again and once more... It's December! Filled with all sorts of fun holidays, and of course... The snow that I love so much... It's time for another fun filled event that's going to bring people coming back for more! Or so I hope! But first.... a bit of a story...
A few years back, I held a large site wide event. It was the first Advent Calendar, and it had a lot of people loving each and every event that took place! It took up a lot of my time, and I didn’t want to do it again the next year. So I tried a 12 days of Christmas event that only lasted for about 4 days. It didn’t go as well as I had wanted it to. SO! I’ve decided to re-do the Advent Calendar but space it out a little bit. Last time, I did 21 events across 24 days and it drained me of everything! This year, I’m trying to change it up to make it fun and exciting, but to keep it a little less draining!
For those who haven’t heard of an Advent Calendar before, it’s usually a special calendar that has 24/25 boxes on it. With this calendar, you open the box corresponding to the day that you are currently on. Inside Is some sort of special treat, a little toy, or any number of things. Mine is a little bit different, but it’s the same basic concept!
How will this work you ask? Simple! Roughly every other day day, I'll post up something like a little challenge. Maybe a mini-contest to participate in, or a riddle to answer, or whatever the case may be. Some may be repeated throughout the month (Because coming up with so many different options can be quite difficult). Most of the challenges will last longer then a day, but keep an eye out for new threads. If I find myself with a lot of time on a specific day, I’ll post up a new one! Keep in mind that all event threads will be open for at least a full 24 hours, so don’t worry about missing one so long as you log in at least once a day this month.
But whatever really cares about is... the prizes that go along with it. Well... Each day will offer it's own prize, to fit with the theme of the advent calendar. Furthermore, there are other prizes to go along with it. Here's how the prizes will breakdown, in a sense. Each day, 2 or 3 prizes will be offered. It all depends on the challenge involved and the amount of people that participate. In most, if not all cases, the prizes will remain hidden until after the challenge is over. At the end of the event, every entry into every challenge offers an entry into a drawing. Of that, 5 people will receive prize packages. Anyone who completes all challenges will also receive a separate prize package. Anyone who participates in at least one of the challenges gets a different prize package. AND Everyone on the site will receive something as a special holiday gift.
This thread here is for you to post any holiday wishes or thoughts about the event. I will also be announcing new challenges and winners here in this thread (As that allows me to keep one thread as an announcement instead of a new one each day). So get yourself ready to win big this holiday season. Because the 2017 Advent Calendar is about to begin! Listed below are a few rules that spread across all threads. By participating in the Advent Calendar contest, you agree that you have read the following four rules.
- Unless otherwise stated, you may only enter on one account. And if you are known by a common name, please at least state that name so I can keep track of who is doing what. If it's a hidden account that you don't want everyone knowing, at least PM me so I know who it is and can keep the drawing correct and the “Complete every challenge” package can go to you if you complete that.
- No arguing over the winners. In some cases, winners will be directly picked by me. I will remain completely unbiased in this, because it doesn't matter to me who wins or loses. If you absolutely believe there is bias in it, then this can be discussed with you and the four members of Head Staff. But in most cases, there will be either a timed thing or a vote amongst members.
- Prizes are, for the most part, final. There are some cases that you can receive an item that your character physically cannot use (Such as a free Augmentation ritual on a character that can't receive them). If that's the case, we will discuss an appropriate substitution. But PM me if that ends up happening so we can figure it out.
- NO BASHING SUBMISSIONS! If this happens for any reason whatsoever, you will be banned from the event. Any prizes you received prior to this will be removed. Any benefits you've gained from those prizes will be voided. And all entries will be revoked, meaning no prize packages at the end. You will also not receive the one given to all members as this is the ultimate disrespect with this event. Furthermore, an automatic 66% will be placed upon your account. It might sound extreme, but I will not tolerate anyone making fun of any submissions. This is your only warning.
