Since the best he could do right now was to simply follow the tracks while others were likely hunting down the main prize, he made sure not to lose his head. Even though it seemed all the tracks that were remotely fresh belonged to large felines, he could not take the risk of underestimating his query. The fact that these animals were predatory made them dangerous, and since they were used to hunting animals that were either as large or larger than he was had the potential of making things potentially harmful to him. Still, he had been training as a tracker for a while now, and as a Shinobi a lot longer.
Feeling like these things would make him more prepared for what was to come, he figured that fighting these large cats would be fair game. Since he did not know whether these creatures found in the hunt had been bred and trained to kill or if they had just been captured elsewhere, he had to consider the fact that the former was the case. It would prove why some of the animals he had faced so far were rather hostile when compared to their cousins he had encountered in the wilderness, and why some of them had abilities beyond that of which he had ever seen up until now.
Though incapable of telling the kind of animal he was tracking, he was sure of the fact that they were as close to fully grown as they were likely going to get, and that there were three of them. Following their tracks, the three eventually broke off into different directions. One went straight onward, while the other two went to the side, proving to Hamura that they were hunting something. This was something he could not be sure about, though the fact that three of them were headed primarily into the same direction with one taking point and two going to the sides as a means of flanking made it plenty clear to him that this was the most likely scenario.
"Clever, that's exactly how I would go about it. Now lets see what you're hunting."
Thinking to himself as he surmised the tactics and likely behavior of the animals, it made him wonder exactly what they were hunting, and if it was something that might award any additional points or not. Not planning on wasting any of his chakra, he kept his eyes and ears open for anything that might give away the predators. Soon, it would become clear who of them would be the hunter and who would become the prey, a thing that was not entirely clear as of yet, but would be soon enough. Preserving both chakra and his energy, he was not going to become like his hunting buddy and exert to much of it, not now that he was out on his own. He had to be more clever than that.
