Greetings Everyone and welcome to the 2017 Advent Calendar. Today is December 3rd, which means Days 3 and 4 of the Advent Calendar and the theme for today (If you couldn't see the big letters above) Is Letters! Yes, the pieces of mail that we receive from friends and family during the holidays wishing us well, or that which we receive for our birthdays, when we're sick, when we get married, and for all sorts of other occasions. For this event, you'll be creating your own! Commonly, it would be a Christmas card, but people don't always celebrate Christmas, so feel free to make it about any holiday or other event that you'd like! Can you create the best card?

Here are the rules for this event!

[li]This is a TWO part event! The first part includes creating the card. This card can either be for a holiday or for another event (get well soon, congratulations on your engagement, welcome the new baby, etc.) Once the card is created, then submit it! The second part is voting. By casting your vote (Yes, you can vote for yourself) [My apologies! I am contradicting myself. It was always intended for you to not vote for yourself], you help decide the winners (And sometimes I give things out just for voting, even if it doesn't count as an event completed)
[/li][li]This is a Submission Event! This means that all entries into this event are to be PMed to Gift Giver . The thread will be locked until the voting phase begins.
[/li][li]This is a TWO DAY EVENT! That means that 48 hours from the time of posting, this event can be closed. Will it be closed immediately after that point? Nope! The thread isn't closed until I say that it is. So if I haven't posted saying it's closed, you can submit! However, each day is for something separate. The first day is for submissions, the second day is for voting. So submissions will only be accepted in the first 24 hours.
[/li][li]As it says above, voting will be done to decide the winners. After the first 24 hours, I will post the submissions. After that, another 24 hours will be given for the site to vote on what they think is the best designed candy cane.[/li][li]There is no limit on length here. If you want to tell a little story, go ahead. If you want to do a little small quote, that's up to you. Whatever length you want to put on is fine by me. Just remember that the members on site are voting for this!

I will give you an extension equal to the amount of time you were waiting on me to respond. Now for the fun part... The prize! The prize for Day 3/4's event is... a mystery! Yep, keeping this one hidden (Most will be like this). However, I will say there is a First, Second, and Third place prize here. The voting is what will determine that. There will also be a participation prize just for submitting. And, as with all events, a chance to win one of five grand prize packages at the end of the event. Plus, remember that you have to participate in all events to receive a special prize package at the end! So go out there and make a wonderful card!

Just a quick note to everyone that this will remain open for about... 13 more hours from the time of this post. A question was sent to me that took awhile to get to so I have to leave it open to make sure that this person can get to it. You still have plenty of time to submit your cards (Only received 6 so far), so feel free to throw them my way!

I also said to others in the Cbox earlier that the card can be for any event. It can be a holiday, it can be a get well soon card, it can be a congrats on your engagement card, and so on. It also doesn't have to be designed as a card! If you want to put your writing skills to the test, type up the description of the card or just what the inside of a card would look like. These are all meant to be in good fun, so don't be afraid of how it looks. I guarantee it looks better than anything I could do!

This Christmas Card is set on flexible peach colored paper, its smooth to the touch and has a glossy sheen to it that made the colors on the card vibrant and full. The front of the card has deep pink borders, designed to look like prickly rose vines that curled into and away from each other somewhat wildly, the vines had a light pink gradient, with pale pink and white flowers sprouting from it in small patches of three. In the upper center of the card, the vines curl into form a pretty border to the title of the card, which read in a festive cursive font, “To my sweetheart.”. The bottom of the card that has no words is decorated with small playfully place hearts of darker peach, bright pink, and soft rose.

The inside of the card is designed like a scene, both side of the inside showing one whole picture. The picture was a mono colored pink, showing light pink grass filling up the bottom, with spots of darker pink and sweet lavender, white speaks floated above and throughout the grass, casting the illusion of rising sparkles. The Backdrop was the lovely peach of the card, but with a sky that fades into darker magenta as it reaches towards the edges. The entire inside had a small border that was two vines snaking their way around all the edges, the same kind that is in the front of the card. On the left side of the inside, a dark pink silhouette of a man stood amongst the grass, head down and arms drawn toward the center crease of the card, where his hands held the smaller one’s of the female silhouette, who was wearing a sundress that bellowed in the wind behind her, her long hair also flying with the breeze.

Starting from the top left, a poem written in the darkest pink cursive was wrote, its words dancing down the page and ending in a long curly tail. It reads as follows:

“Dearest Love, who saved me from the darkest hour and showed me love that would never cease to fill me with power.

You have stood beside me for so many years.

Seen me beaten and broken, nearly drowned in my tears.

Although I scream and shouted, consumed by my fears.

You stayed with me and never disappeared.

Even when the shadows came and whispered lies into my ears

And the voices surrounded me and laughed countless jeers

You remained still, pushing me to always persevere

Its thanks to you that I’m still able to feel cheer

Thanks to you that I can still stand and remain sincere

So even when this life tries to ruin me, destroy me with its piercing spear

I’ll remember the strength you showed me and continue to be strong through the rest of my years.”

Once you close the card, the back is a simple peace with vine borders, some snaking into the center, but not having the defining purpose the front of the card has. The same hearts that appear on the front appear on the back. In the middle of the card, “Let us be together for forever.” is written out in cursive.

I would like to wish both of you a wonderful ten year anniversary. Staying together as wife and husband for ten years is no mean feat!

For my cousin: You were the first of cousin in my family who got married. We all saw it coming since the two of you had been together for several years. But seeing the two of you saying "yes" in front of us made us all smile.

For my cousin-in-law: I don't have that many female cousins. There is no doubt why my cousin wanted to be your boyfriend (and husband later on). You're a smart, headstrong woman who is a wonderful role model for younger people.

The two of you have three wonderful children together. It's easy to see that you love them just as much - if not more - as each other. I know the two of you will stay together for many more years to come.

Blood Increasing Pill [1/10 a slot]

Effect: A pill that increases the blood flow of the body to stabilize and close bleeding wounds. Can restore a dead person to life within 1 minute of death.

Description: Mix the anserke, balisse, culen, and the peony using a filtration method. Then pour the mixture into a spherical hatch filled with the mulungu resin. Allow the mulungu resin to harden. This takes 20 minutes to create. This creates 1 thumb-vial of "Blood Increasing Pill". When eaten, on the user's next turn the blood increasing pill speeds up the formation and increases the blood in the body. All bleeding wounds are immediately sealed and the user is no longer bleeding. The user also gains armour points of healing equal to 6 and automatically stabilizes if in dying condition. After having lost a significant amount of blood, a user can use this pill to replenish their blood so they can continue to live. If a user is forced to eat this pill after being dead less than 1 minute, the body's heart will begin to pump again and the body will automatically be stabilized.

Effect: A slashing and piercing weapon enhancement that provides temporary additional qualities against Animal Creature Types.

Description: Mix the dog tallow and the wolf's liver using a filtration method. This process separates the components of themselves through a filter that catch larger particles. The liquid residue left over is what makes the oil. This takes 1 hour to create. This will make 1 flat-canister of "Beast Oil". Beast Oil is a blade enhancement which provides specific, though temporary, additional qualities to slashing and piercing weapons. Beast Oil has a duration of 24 hours or until all is used up. Only 1 type of Oil can be applied per Weapon at a time. The effects do not stack. Using a new Oil on a weapon will replace any current oil and its corresponding effects. +10% Armour Point Poison Damage against Animal Creature Types. Damage is allocated if the target takes damage. Oil is not applied against defenses, however will negate and bypass Damage Reduction (Not Natural Armour). 1 flat-canister of Oil is enough to apply 20 attacks. User may apply 1 flat-canister per weapon.

Effect: A Gem used for payment or for status purposes.

Description: Out of all the jewelry found adorning the fingers, heads, necks, and clothing of high royalty, you will see more of this fine gem than almost any other. The reason is the rich purple color found in most amethyst stones, since purple is very often associated with royalty and nobility. So valued is the status of this stone that some kings and queens have gone as far as outlawing the wearing of amethyst by anyone of lower station than the king or queen’s immediate family. It is also symbolically an important stone to the clerics of many good-aligned gods; many high church officials have their holy symbols cut entirely from large amethyst stones. Description: Carving a single piece of amber to resemble a flame or other sinuous form harnesses one of the Alchemical properties of amber. When the natural Alchemy has been harnessed, the amber increases the wearer’s spirit, granting a +1 sacred bonus to Weapon Size attack damage against all opponents. The spirit amber is usually worn as a necklace, but can also be set as a jewel in a weapon, sewn into clothing, or made into other jewelry. If set into a weapon the spirit amber still grants its Alchemical bonus even when the weapon is not used, but if the weapon is no longer in the persons possession, the bonus is lost until the weapon is again held or carried.

Scratching or otherwise damaging the skull negates its alchemical property.

Fear Charm

Description: The fear charm is harnessed from a single crystal of aquamarine. The crystal is no larger than the a marble and, once properly crafted and the alchemical property is released, is either held or attached to clothing. When held or worn, the Fear Charm provides a +4 Alchemical Bonus to saves against Fear Jutsus and effects, including cause fear and a dragon’s frightful presence. It also applies a +4 Alchemical Difficulty Bonus to Fear Jutsus against opponents.

Coleman’s Traveling Stone

Effect: A harnessed Gem capable of creating a structure to protect from outside environments.

Description: Adventurers have always faced the problem of where to sleep when on the road. Sure, in the more civilized regions there is always the chance of an inn or tavern to stay in, but a lot of adventures do not take place in civilized regions. When traveling through the wildlands, or spending the night deep in the dungeon with no inn in sight, bedding down to rest can be fraught with danger. Gavin Coleman wanted to solve this problem and harnessed the Alchemical Properties within the mineral feldspar. Since harnessing the mineral’s Alchemy Coleman has gone on to specialize in products to make the adventurer’s life in the wild a little easier, to his considerable financial gain. To harness feldspar's natural Alchemy properties the mineral must be cut into a four-sided pyramid. When Coleman's traveling stone is placed on the ground and the command word "pitch" is spoken in Common, the stone transforms into an unmoving, opaque sphere that blends perfectly into the surrounding terrain providing complete concealment for the sphere. Half the sphere is above the ground and half is below ground. Up to 10 medium size creatures can fit into the sphere. The temperature inside the sphere is 70° F no matter the exterior temperature. The sphere provides protection against the elements, such as rain, dust, and sandstorms. The sphere withstands any wind of less than hurricane force, but a hurricane (75+ mph wind speed) or greater force destroys it. The interior of the sphere is a hemisphere and can be illuminated dimly upon command. The sphere is transparent from within. Missiles, weapons, and most Chakra effects can pass through the sphere without affecting it. The sphere remains in place for 10 hours or until the command word "break" is spoken in Common. Coleman’s traveling stone can only be activated once each day.

Effect: A harnessed Gem used to stop bleeding.

Description: Hematite is usually found as a mineral with a dull red-brown color and sages and commoners alike have long called hematite bloodstone due to the bright red streak of color it makes. To make a bloodstone, the alchemist first carves the hematite into a triangular shape about 3 inches in size. The carved bloodstone is then boiled for several hours before being treated with a special liquid. After treatment, the stone is dried in a kiln and then powdered and stored in a vial. The red powder can then be spread over a bleeding wound, clotting the blood. The bloodstone powder provides a +10 alchemical bonus to the First Aid: Healing check. One vial of bloodstone powder can be used 10 times before it is consumed.

Description: A Large Leather-bound book with "B.I.N.G.O. Productions" written on it. No Authors are listed within the book. The Botany Studies is a multi-volume of books pertaining to the study of Plants and what these Plants can do. Each Volume discusses the plants found in a specific Region. Each volume gives a +5 Competence bonus to the user's skill pertaining to that region, and the user gains a +1 Competence bonus per die roll when learning the skill according to the specific region. Example: User has a volume on the Forest Region. They will gain a +5 Competence bonus towards their Botany Forest skill, and gain a +1 Competence bonus to every die roll when learning the skill for Botany Forest.

The Botany Studies is a multi-volume of books pertaining to the study of Plants and what these Plants can do. Each Volume discusses the plants found in a specific Region. Each volume gives a +5 Competence bonus to the user's skill pertaining to that region, and the user gains a +1 Competence bonus per die roll when learning the skill according to the specific region. Example: User has a volume on the Forest Region. They will gain a +5 Competence bonus towards their Botany Forest skill, and gain a +1 Competence bonus to every die roll when learning the skill for Botany Forest.
Limit: These items may be bought inside any Book Shop within the Region. 25% chance finding Outside Region.
Cost: 4,500 Ryo

So basically going with the 100,000 Ryo on this one.

On a side note, I still need to claim two ticket stubs I got in the Thanksgiving event, which totals up to 150,000 Ryo. So if someone is doing the Ryo adding thing, it might be the fastest thing to add that right in along with it.
