First and foremost, Harue breaks the jutsu she'll use into parts. Whatever that jutsu is. There were components to casting jutsu, and one of them was obviously handseals. One was chakra, and... concentration? Harue clicks her teeth, disappointed in her lack of understanding in this whole thing. They never really went over this stuff with Harue, no one that she could remember. Frowning, looking like somewhat of a fool with her arms clamped up behind her back and bent slightly at the waist. Her face is one of concentration, though instead of channeling anything she's simply thinking. Perhaps thinking too hard, because her mind seems to fizzle out and give her the utmost trouble. Sighing, she considers unraveling her arms and giving up.

But she didn't like giving up - not really. She did sometimes, but she if she already was this far, with her arms behind her back, then she might as well see it through. It can't be too hard, can it? She scans her brain for any sort of answer or solution, but all she comes up with is "Learn by doing." No use in just standing there with her hands purposefully bound like a fool, right? With another sigh and a roll of her pink eyes, Harue begins to compose herself and the chakra that courses through her body, her veins and to her core.

Unlocking her chakra wasn't a problem, though. It came naturally to her, though she was unsure if that was natural for everyone. Perhaps she was a step ahead, or maybe she was at the same starting line as everyone else. Instead of dwelling on it, she moves forward with it and continues to work through what she would normally do for a jutsu, without actually... doing it. Was there a way to do the seals in her mind? She scoffs outwardly in amusement and wondered if it was that easy.

Finally, Harue decides on what it is she'll do. Kawarimi. This could be very simple in retrospect, honestly - they taught the basics without the use of handseals! She remembers that now, but.. it doesn't help. Not really, not how she thinks it should upon the realization. She decides to perform Kawarimi rather slowly, to refeel it and understand how it works without handseals. This should be easy, now that she thinks about it. She did a lot of things without handseals, for a lot of her abilities. Not everything she did that was outside the realm of TaiJutsu needed handseals, so applying that to jutsu that do need handseals should stem from that, right? It only made sense.

Although it was usually one of strategy, Harue was under no impending danger and could use Kawarimi at her leisure, so worrying about finding a proper or appropriate thing to switch with wasn't under crunch. Looking around briefly, she settles on a loose branch that's tucked behind a tree, one she hadn't noticed until now. Before, it had looked eerily as though it was a branch connected to the trunk, but upon further inspection it was indeed fallen. All the while, she continues pondering how this will work, how she can use this to her advantage later on.

Satisfied with the setup, Harue takes a few steps away from the branch and concentrates, arms still tangled behind her back. To be honest, it feels more like she's re-training Kawarimi rather than learning how to perform without her hands. Would it translate to other jutsus? There was no point in being discouraged by that thought, though - after all, she'd train everything she knew again if she had to, if it meant she could better utilize her abilities. Taking time to perform handseals was a drawback, and it left her open to people apt with jutsu lore to understanding what she was attempting in dire situations. Going through this was as strategical as she could currently think, at least for the moment.

So, things were a bust. She'd performed the damn Kawarimi and appeared where the branch was, the branch poofing to lay limp where she previously was. But it happened all so fast, she barely had time to register what it was she was even doing to understand. It was like riding a bike - you don't forget how to do it, even if you can't consciously understand what it is you're doing. It was... annoying. Sucking at her teeth angrily, Harue switches places with the branch again in an attempt to... try again, she guesses. She was going to keep trying something, or anything, even if it took her all day. Though, the thought of staying here all night was daunting. The sun was already falling way down, leaving the air cool. Harue's completely tuned everyone around her out at this point, focusing solely on her objective.

Her objective, her lame and pathetic attempt at understanding how to do something by doing it repeatedly. She seems to almost spam the Kawarimi in frustration until she ends up with a slight heave in her chest. Frustrated, Harue tries to inhale and exhale deeply, closing her eyes to analyze the technique she'd just spammed in her mind rather than physically, as she did it. It had to be a combination of the two. Her eyebrows knit together as she stands there, still again but this time for good reason. Her thoughts were moving rather fast, hard to keep up with, and her eyelids flutter as she thinks about what it was she had been doing in the moment the jutsu was performed.

She was... thinking about what she wanted to do. What was the trigger? She needed to know the trigger, but it was so second-nature to her, even after all this time since she'd dabbled with Kawarimi, that it was hard to pinpoint what exactly it was that she did in her mind, or outwardly, for it to work. It wasn't anything prominent, obviously. That could only mean that it would be that easy someday with other jutsu, but for now she'd have to struggle with the attempt to make things work. She wasn't feeling as frustrated now that she'd gave it a thought. She supposed taking a step back and examining things from another angle was always the best bet, and that was what she was doing now after all.

    Inoryu weaved the two hand seals to cast jink's indescribable creep. The shadow clone was well within range and Inoryu sensed that the genjutsu was successful. The shadow clone perceived Inoryu as his source of fear and entered a panicked state. As he began to flee, Inoryu drew a single bo shuriken. The chuunin was learning to rely on his instincts and his instincts were informing him subconsciously that he was able to throw further than before. Just as the range was with the first shadow clone, Inoryu allowed the shadow clone to flee until he was around twenty meters away before throwing the bo shuriken.

    The shuriken speared the air and stuck into the shadow clone's back only after he had managed a few steps. The shadow clone looked back fearfully, saw Inoryu as his source of fear and continued to flee. Inoryu drew another bo shuriken and after the shadow clone had taken a few more steps, threw it with an overhand throwing stance. Again, the shuriken speared through the air and landed with a direct hit. The shadow clone was 26 meters away. 

    Inoryu drew out another bo shuriken and the shadow clone wouldn't hesitate in his attempt to escape. He took another few steps and another shuriken stuck in his back 32 meters away. He flinched from the pain, sidestepped behind a tree but continued to flee. A few steps later, another shuriken stuck his back. This time he was fourty meters away.

    Determined to find the parameters of his new range capabilities, Inoryu drew out another bo shuriken and threw it. This time it went wide of the target. Inoryu absorbed the information quickly and drew out another bo shuriken. He aimed quickly before throwing it and the shuriken found its target 48 meters away. The shadow clone mis-stepped due to the impact but continued to flee. 

    From that point Inoryu was beginning to fully understand the new limits of his range. He drew another bo shuriken, aimed and threw it. The shuriken speared the air and struck the shadow clone 55 meters away. He observed that his new throwing potential was incredible. It was astounding to watch as his shuriken flew past the numerous trees and struck his target so deep in the woodlands with only a quick aim. He contemplated what his aim would be like if he took his time.

    Inoryu would find a new angle to throw clear of the trees and observed the shadow clone over sixty meters away. He drew out another bo shuriken, took aim and threw it. The shuriken speared the air and struck the shadow clone at a range of 65 meters and Inoryu wasn't yet at his limits. He couldn't find any more openings through the different angles of trees so he went after the shadow clone. From his little experiment, he concluded that he had an overall range of 80 meters now, if he took his time aiming.

    As Inoryu chased the shadow clone through the training area, he would pick up the bo shuriken that had missed on the way and shunshin ten meters closer where he could get a clearer view. He weaved through two hand seals to cast the phantasmal force but the genjutsu was unsuccessful. However, the only movement that the shadow clone could do now was flee so he had time and opportunity to try again. With the shadow clone in his sights, he weaved the two hand seals and attempted again. 

    This time the genjutsu would succeed and a phantom version of Inoryu would appear before him and throw a straight punch, which landed and forced a sudden halt to the flight while causing subdual damage. The phantasm then dropped his main hand down while shooting out his off hand, successfully landing that strike, and shooting out his off hand again in the same movement. The shadow clone took both hits and a fourth surprise heel kick that hurtled him a few steps and caused him to fall prone and disappear in smoke. 

    Still with the bo shuriken in hand, Inoryu went to recover the others as well that remained where the shadow clone had been prostrated. He returned them all to his butt bag but one. He went to the edge of the training area and leaped into the meadows of the second. He weaved two hand seals and constructed a wooden dummy with bulls-eye paint over its torso 80 meters away. The distance was incredible, but with Inoryu's newfound skill, it should be possible. He took his time with the aim as he loaded the bo shuriken in an overhand throwing stance. When he was ready, he threw it and observed the results. The bo shuriken speared through the air and struck the target, just as he expected.

    Inoryu was impressed with himself but he knew that he could be even more impressive. To really test out his improvement, he weaved two hand seals and manifested a second wooden target with a bulls-eye torso 105 meters away in the third training area. Even in the open field of the training area, the target looked to be a mere speck in the distance, but if his aim was true, he should hit the target. He drew a small disk from his butt bag, that had a natural range increment of fifteen meters. This target should be the limit of his range. 

    The chuunin wound back his arm in the overhand throwing stance and was patient with his aim. After four seconds of analyzing the range and the wind, he was ready. He threw the small disk intuitively so the wind wouldn't interfere and he watched as the small disk soared over the field. To his amazement, he watched the disk's trajectory keep to the target and heard a loud 'thud'. He ran over to see the results as quickly as he could, and in the distance saw the small disk stuck near the center of the bulls-eye. He went to retrieve his weapons from the targets and the targets vanished in thin air having served their purpose.

    Since he was in the meadows of the second training area, he decided to use the open field to further improve his art. He dismissed the shadow clone still suffering from vertigo since it would be quite some time until he came to his senses. Instead he opted to start the field mechanisms so various targets would appear randomly throughout the field and stop in their tracks after taking a hit. As the machines appeared and disappeared throughout the meadow, Inoryu made his way to the center of the field. 

    At the center of the field, he could maximize his jutsu range. He began by reaching in his butt bag, drawing a single bo shuriken, and in a quick, fluid motion, his storm of throws began. He started with the targets that appeared directly in front of him, striking both of them in the center of the bulls-eye with shuriken. Then worked at ten o' clock and three o clock, hitting the bulls-eye of four additional targets at varying distances. 

    He turned and threw another bo shuriken dead center at the target 35 meters behind him. Two more targets appeared at 4 o' clock; 15 and 34 meters away, and two more at 8 o' clock; eight and 16 meters away and managed to hit them all with bulls-eyes. He worked again at four O' clock, striking three more targets 25, 30, and two meters away and back again to ten O' clock hitting the target 40 meters away. The targets were beginning to litter the field and add obstructions to the new targets that appeared. The more that this went on, the harder it became to discern the new targets from the old ones.

    The targets kept appearing alongside the ones that have already been struck and Inoryu kept on throwing. He had expedited all of his bo shuriken and resorted to his supply of hira shuriken. Dark steel shuriken shaped like stars next struck their targets with razor edges. The target fifteen meters nine O' clock, a target two meters twelve O' clock, another target 27 meters three O' clock caused Inoryu to spin to opposite directions but stopped as they were struck by the shuriken. None of them had escaped Inoryu's uncanny, perfect accuracy.

    More targets kept appearing in the midst of former targets. One appeared and moved behind a stopped target for cover so he was forced to throw at the target 35 meters at four O' clock, and then again at another target that appeared in the same direction at seventeen meters. He turned back to the target that had taken cover and saw that it was exposed. He threw the hira shuriken so the target stopped its movement just two meters to the right of its former cover. Two more targets appeared at 22 meters, eight O'clock and seven O'clock and both were struck dead center with hira shuriken.

    From the corner of his eye, he caught movement of another target twenty meters away at 2 O' clock and was quick to throw another hira shuriken which struck the dead center of the target. Four more simultaneously appeared around him at six O' clock, nine O' clock, three O' clock, and 12 O' clock at ranges; 33 meters, 12 meters, four meters and 17 meters. He struck the target nearest to him first, then struck the target the target at nine O' clock since six O' clock had some cover. His target at six was next and before the hira shuriken even hit he had already thrown the other 12. Both hit with 'thud' consecutively.

    Three more appeared at five O' clock, ten O' clock, and two O' clock at 30 meters, 22 meters and 18 meters. The first one had some cover but not enough to ward off a hira shuriken. The other two had no cover at all, but merely had some stealth as Inoryu had to discern movement from them. They were struck by hira shuriken as well. Inoryu reached into his butt bag and realized he had exhausted his hira shuriken and resorted to darts.

    He paused as he realized the field was becoming cluttered and the targets were becoming less obvious. He had the option to retrieve all of his shuriken and start the session over, but he wondered if that would be conducive to training this particular technique. Should he instead challenge himself with the new targets who had opportunities for cover and stealth? Without putting much thought to it, he continued. He found several targets, immobile, yet unscathed and he put darts in them. 

    The chuunin waited and observed, striking another target and another bulls-eye. Another appeared between two targets, moving around him and he put a dart in it before it reached cover. He caught the movement of another at two O' clock and a dart stuck it with a loud 'thud'. These newer targets seemed to be further and farther between because there were many places to take cover and it slowed his pace too much. Instead, he relaxed his posture, casually went to retrieve all of his tools and returned them to his butt bag.

    After jogging to retrieve the tools to his butt bag and restarting the target mechanism, Inoryu was ready to go again. This time he amped up the speed of the targets so that they would appear and move about more quickly. He had inputted the function for the targets to stop all movements after having been struck, same as last time. When he returned to the center of the meadow, he took a second to observe the more erratic movements of the targets. He was ready; he reached behind to his butt bag and threw a hira shuriken with an underhanded throw that hit dead center of the bulls-eye. 

    His movements continued in a fluid motion as his sight picked up on the next targets moving about the field. His throws were quick, and accurate. The interval of sound being made when the targets were hit was a loud 'thud' that beat one to three times a second. A single hira shuriken soared through the air until sticking the target 40 meters away. It wasn't perfect accuracy since the target did move within that time, but it was well aimed nonetheless. 

    More targets were being struck and halted their movement. Over fifteen targets had been struck already. The sixteenth target was struck by a bo shuriken, as well as the target beside it, and the targets that followed. Every target, near and far, became marked with a shuriken, despite their quicker movements. Three targets all beside each other, were struck all at once after a single throw.

    More targets appeared moving about mid-range on three sides of him. The first had no cover at all but would halt beside another and provide a small barrier to any targets that were beyond 20 meters, the second had moved behind cover, but the third was far and wide open. He threw the bo shuriken at the third target first, then the first target that had moved further away from the other as to not provide a barrier, and the last as it moved away from cover. The 'thud's were loud and consecutive. Another target appeared directly in front of him and he struck it before it fully escaped the mechanism from the ground so it wouldn't impede his jutsu. 

    Inoryu was entering a flow state and felt pleasure from practicing the jutsu. His mind became more clear as target after target was struck and his fluid movements were releasing dopamine and had a calming effect on his mind. His shuriken became faster and hit harder as he found a way to be more relaxed in the execution. The more he practiced, the easier it became. The field was becoming more riddled with defeated targets. 

    As he threw more shuriken, the condition of the field was starting to influence his jutsu. His fluid movement needed to take pause and wait for the new targets to be open. A few more targets fell this way. Several more appeared very close and they impeded his area of effect as well. He paused another moment and found a couple of targets that were far away and after a brief moment, they were struck by bo shuriken.

    Five more targets appeared mid range but were somehow all open despite the clutter. With five fluid throws, the targets were stuck with darts and halted their movement. This time though, he was able to continue due to the targets more erratic movements. Unlike his previous session, their movements weren't disguised and if they went behind cover, they wouldn't stay there for long. It only took some judgement and timing. 

    Judgement to analyze the new target's position and movement and deciding the best approach. It took good timing to throw the best way according to their movements. Through practice of this jutsu, he was improving these qualities as well. The five targets were struck, one after another, intelligently. Targets continued to appear, and with practiced strategy would fall.

    The field was becoming more cluttered, timing and judgement became more critical every passing second. Yet the new targets would continue to be open in some fashion. The darts that were being thrown would spear past one or three other constructs now before reaching its destination. The targets that appeared furthers took the best timing.     There was a target fourty meters away that moved behind a barricade of three near targets. Inoryu turned his eyes to the opposite directing and struck a target ten meters away with a dart. Another appeared behind that and had ample cover due to it. Behind him and in front of him, all he could see was clutter and a single target beyond it moving in and out of it. He observed the target, but the timing was such that he was no longer doing a storm of throws. 

    Too much patience, and too much deliberation. He no longer needed to aim for such far distances, nevertheless, his storm of throws was concluded. He returned the dart in his hand back to his butt bag and jogged around the field, making sure to retrieve all of his tools. He went back to the field target functions and set a different format for the targets to appear. This would allow him to continue practicing the storm of throws but it would also direct his efforts. 

    Ready to begin, he stood at one end of the meadow. Fifty immobile targets appeared before him. His storm of throws began as he worked on hitting every target on the field. When a target was hit, they quickly returned to the ground to reveal the numerous targets behind. The targets were close enough that Inoryu threw three shuriken at a time which made the jutsu even more effective for this exercise.

    He was throwing at targets thirty meters away now, hitting every bulls-eye. He finished the line and began on the line of targets fourty meters away, reverting to single shuriken throws due to the wait time of his shuriken. To his understanding, the storm of throws jutsu was a single fluid motion in a single conscious effort. After that line was finished, he worked on the line fifty meters away.

    Still he had more targets in his full 105 meter range and was determined to get through them all. The flight of the shuriken took a few seconds which allowed Inoryu to pace himself between his throws. Due to the length of time it took for the external ballistics, a single target was struck by the time Inoryu had executed his next throw. One by one, the targets returned to the ground and the storm of throws became more systemic for this exercise. Systemic, but still effective. 

    He didn't need timing, or judgement, just the conscious and subconscious effort as he continued to work his way through the targets. Due to this system, one by one the targets returned to the ground. Eventually was on the last row, a full 80 meters away. He threw the senbon consecutively ten times, one for each target and Inoryu waited to hear the sound of the senbon striking their targets. He strained his ears, because he lost sight of the senbon after about fifteen meters, and heard evidence of the targets returning back to the ground. He returned to the field functions and set all of the previous targets to appear again so that he could retrieve all of his tools. After a vigorous morning of training, he realized he had skipped breakfast and would take a well deserved break and order barbecue for lunch.

Not wanting to simply overdo it in some way or another, she doesn't go straight into performing her task. She untangles her arms from behind her back, stretching slightly as the blood flow regains its full potential. She sighs, thinking it over with her head and not her actions, standing somewhat impossibly still in the far off fields of the meadow. She was glad to be further away from everyone, and that things seemed to be dying down as the day went on. She had more room to herself, felt less restricted by outside peekers. Her eyes closed and her body rigid, she searches her brain for the keys to this lock. Handseals were just a series of turned keys, she reminds herself, over and over, to try and condition herself into understanding.

Maybe, unfortunately for her griping mind, she'd have to figure out how to do this mindlessly. Maybe there was no formula - there certainly was no directions or how-tos. This was basic stuff - you could or you couldn't, and she doubted it was something you could force. She looks at her hands as she walks slowly through a few basic handseals, examining them and the kind of charge it activates in her chakra. After all, handseals were ways of handling and manipulating your chakra, and therefore it was simply a type of control over your abilities. Or, something like that.

Although she did want to put some instructions on this, a few details she could use for future predicaments that involved casting without movement, she attempts once more to learn by doing. This time she decides to simply act a passive genjutsu. Though it might startle the lesser-understanding folks, Harue didn't think anyone would mind if someone practiced their gen on their field, if it wasn't necessarily meant to affect any of the training people there. She looks to the sky, where her genjutsu would be pinpointed, and studies it momentarily as she considers how to continue.
