Channeling the same kind of concentration and chakra that is required for her desired technique, Harue steels herself. She readies herself for what she's about to attempt, and takes from the Kawarimi and applies it here, hoping that it will translate at least somewhat flawlessly. Her expression is a studious and inquisitive one, if not similar to constipation as she tries relentlessly to make something happen. Could she learn how to do this through fail after fail? She had to succeed at least once before she felt confident enough in herself to continue, but she needed a sign that she was hopeless in order to give up. She was caught in some kind of self-educational limbo loop, unable to pry herself away from what she's already begun. No matter how close failure seems to be.

Failure seems to lurk and mock her, so she tries to ignore it in favor for concentrating on the clouds in the sky that litter the blue and the falling yellow. She supposes that, even though it's a dimming already, the technique would still make a gigantic difference. If anything, it would at least dim the world a few notches if she performs it too late, or perhaps even cover the moon. She tried not to think about having to take that long, instead allowing her pinkish eyes to dart all over the sky, trying not to sigh and grumble angrily and just cast it with her handseals first for a test run.

She focuses primarily on the clouds, at least first, because she knows that the basis of this will use those to surround the sunlight. In some sort of way, she attempts to use her eyes to direct the clouds towards the sun. She's not sure what the movement of her occulars will do if not make her seem like a head-jerking weirdo, but she attempts it anyways. Briefly, she even tries telepathically asking the clouds to move for her. She scoffs, annoyed endlessly by its refusal to cooperate with her. Or is her chakra refusing to obey her? Maybe she really did have magic fingers.

Frustrated, Harue concentrates harder and harder, then less and less. She wavers, trying her best to make something work for her as she stares up into the clouds, eyebrows knitted downwards as her off-pink eyes scan desperately across the horizon, the clouds she needs to manipulate. Handlessly. It was always like that though, right? Nothing stemmed directly from the hands, it was all the chakra, directing the chakra. That's why you used handseals right? To direct your chakra? Where do you direct it... Harue's chin snaps hellwards, tucked downwards as she scans the meadow now instead. Not many people littered it now... in fact, she seemed to be among the only few at this point. 

You direct it outwards. At least, with Genjutsu, right? No... well, yes, outwards, but to what? Not on what it's going to affect, but who... Everyone, then. At least right now. If it were NinJutsu, the direction would be to the hands, to the core, the the throat... wheverever it is you need your element to appear. With GenJutsu, it was no different - you directed the chakra where it needed to appear, which was usually in the mind of others. Of course, that wasn't always was. Sometimes GenJutsu affect the caster in order to alter the perceptions of those who surround them...

So simply outwards, then. Project it? Harue's expression twitches, pressing her lips together tightly as she inhales deeply. She channels her chakra, which is becoming increasingly easier the more she does it, though she supposed it was the most simple thing to do without handseals. It wasn't hard, though she supposed this shouldn't be either. With her expression tight, she looks briefly around her, over her shoulders, before forcing her chakra outwards, into the atmosphere. Past her bones, past her muscle, past her skin. She focuses, almost desperate, on the outwards projection of her chakra.

Incidentally, Harue had an easier time projecting her chakra when she realized it wasn't much unlike manipulating her aura. And that never had handseals with it - in fact, everything she discovered about herself to this day has been completely accidental or by miracle-like chance. Her soul reacted to her subconscious, and with work, she was sure she could condition her chakra and casting to do just the same. Her chakra, clear as usual, seeps finally past the last layer of her skin. Though the chakra itself doesn't move very far away from her, its effects do. To her enthusiasm, the clouds tremble under her control.

She lets out an unintentional hoot, her anger dissipating and allowing her a rather childish reaction. "HELL YEAH!!" She shouts into the clouds, tempted to yell profanities. She holds her tongue instead, still controlling her output. The clouds, though slower than usual, start to swirl and mix. They darken in color as they swarm across the sun, drawing an eclipse-like darkness. Though Harue can see through it if she wants, she chooses to bask in her created darkness in celebration of actually doing something without the use of handseals.

So she'd been right in the end, she supposes. It's a thought that draws a bubbling excitement to her throat, proud of herself for the first time in a while because's she'd managed to understand something about casting jutsu. She wasn't sure if she was spot on, but she knew she at least had a grasp on how to do this. But she couldn't stop here, but only because she'd probably end up forgetting if she was one and done. With a calming inhale, she takes a needless step back and dispels the jutsu. She thinks momentarily about how that's done without handseals, and how it was always just a subconscious knowing. Or maybe she learned it in the academy.

She was still happy with herself and beaming, thankful the frustration had paid off, but Harue had to do it again. At least one more time. Or at least replicate the same process, anything to prove to her that it wasn't just a fluke. Though she feels a bit anxious, she doesn't quite understand why. Nor understand why she paces awkwardly, going over each detail again in her head to make sure she's got it right. Brushing a strand of pink hair behind her ear, she looks to the sky as her lips move wordlessly with the thoughts that rush through her head. Project it like aura, manipulate it the same way you channel it, don't exert too much chakra or else you might exhaust yourself. Be precise. 

Swallowing thickly, Harue looks to her hands, still thinking deeply about how she'd done it. She'd focused her chakra outwards, and it had tickled her ribs specifically as it left the pores of her pale skin. She didn't stop pushing until she'd felt it meet its limit, though it had been a slow approach. Maybe the speed at which she exerts her chakra has something to do with how quickly or efficiently the jutsu is performed. It only makes sense, at least in her mind, that it would work that way. Cause and effect, or... something like that. Her forehead crinkles with another frown.

This was all so tedious. But so was her soul, at first. In time she would understand this just as confidently. Some day, she wouldn't even have to think about it, and instead just do it. It would definitely help in incidents where handseals would give her away - she keeps this in mind especially each time she questions her intentions or the usefulness of this training. It would benefit her hopefully indefinitely. Another steadying inhale and exhale soothe her before she gets to physical trial for another time. She was close, she could feel it... Or was that hunger pangs? She'd been here for quite some time trying to do this.

Although she didn't really want to, she had to try it with a different technique. Make sure it translated well. She decides on something rather simple and inane, the chameleon affect. She gives her immediate surroundings a once over, taking to standing right beside the large trunk of a tree. She didn't want to look like she was being suspicious behind a tree, so she stands on the side that faces the most populated area of the meadow. No matter how vacant it was in actuality. She closes her eyes and inhales, channeling her chakra for the umpteenth time with finesse. She can feel it as it expands, moving past her core and seeping in tendrils through her pores, like vapor as it clouds around her invisibly. 

Concentrating on herself while still projecting her chakra, she hums subconsciously with frustrated thought. She wondered if projecting her chakra, as opposed to only the effect, was necessary. If the effects could reach greater ranges than her chakra but was still at the will of Harue, then could she not condense her chakra instead and focus the effect outwards? It seemed a lot more practical than always summoning a lot of chakra outwards, when she could instead just direct her desired affects.

As effect slowly began to lose its meaning to her due to the repeated use of it in her head, Harue focuses it outwards instead of her chakra. Slowly, the glow about her dims, and instead turns slowly to a strange patchiness. The patches consume her, brown and similar to bark, until she blends entirely in with the tree behind her. Her eyes finally part and she exhales hard, thankful she was able to do it still without so much chakra this time. It was a liberating feeling, somehow.

First looking to her arms and then her legs, Harue admires the way she blends in with her surroundings. It was like a moving camouflage, though she figured that people could still see at least a shimmering outline of her. At least, she could. Or was that a projection of her brain's understanding of her own movements? Maybe it was another subconscious thing, much like what she hoped this whole ordeal would turn into. A subconscious movement, a flawless new way of casting her GenJutsu and... whatever usually required handseals. For a moment, it makes her want to dabble in NinJutsu. Only because it would be fun to manipulate elements without ridiculous handseals. Handseals were a nuisance anyways - more people should do this!

Though, maybe she was one of the lasts to have a grasp on it. Harue frowns, looking to her new chameleon skin as she reminds herself about how much work it took her to understand this stupid technique. And a useful technique it would prove itself to be, Harue had no doubts about that. She wonders about how other people might go about performing jutsus without handseals, and if they understood it the same way she did. Or if someone was right and someone was wrong, or if it was all just interpretation. She clears her throat, stepping away from the bark.

Instead of her body's image shifting to register her new surroundings, she dispels her trial run and instead goes over one more time how it works, at least as she understands it to. The projection of chakra is no different from essentially manipulating its affects outwards, as long as you can separate the two in your mind. It seemed simple and theory, but even simpler in action. In fact, she would probably forget the break down in due time, and instead only understand how she does it. Even if someone asked her to explain it, she wouldn't have coherent words to put her steps into. Perhaps it was all interpersonal, whatever one made it out to be for themself. It was an almost comforting fact.

    In the dense woodland of training area one, Inoryu stood ten meters across from his shadow clone. He weaved through twelve hand seals that aligned with the phantasm perception. A lich dressed only in a dark robe with golden embroidery appeared before the shadow clone. It was a menacing figure, only visible to the target. The lich opened it's jaw in a way only an animated corpse can.
    Since mastering the phantasm perception, Inoryu's genjutsu have become more believable. He was able to affect the mind in a myriad of ways and on his first attempt, he recognized that the shadow clone believed the phantasm. Inoryu watched as the vague shape drifted closer while it reached out with its hand. It was only a second past when the phantasm touched the shadow clone. The instant the lich had made contact, the shadow clone fell and castrated himself. 
    According to his studies, the affect of the phantasmal lich jutsu was permanent paralysis. To his detriment, the paralysis could not be removed with genjutsu dispel. Inoryu examined the body by placing his cheek near the shadow clone's mouth. He listened for the shadow clone's breath through his nose, waited for physical contact of breath through the mouth on his cheek, and watched the shadow clone's stomach sink and rise with each breath.

    After feeling the evidence of life within the shadow clone, he proceeded to check the clones pupils. The shadow clone merely stared ahead, showing no recognition that his eyelid had been opened or that his person was kneeling over him. It was quite unnerving. Inoryu began imaging horrible situations where he became paralyzed and helpless. He lifted the shadow clone's wrist and it fell limp. 
    Inoryu closed his eyes and focused on his chakra. He directed the flow until it was flowing to the palm of his hand. He then put his palm on the shadow clone's chest and sent a surge of chakra through him. He wasn't quite sure if it was enough to dispel him from genjutsu, but according to the scroll, it shouldn't have an effect. He waited a moment for some kind of reaction but there was none. 
    He would repeat genjutsu dispel two more times until he could no longer let his shadow clone suffer that way. The shadow clone was dismissed through a small cloud of smoke and Inoryu found the silence haunting. The silence, as if it were aware of Inoryu's practice, seemed to accentuate the danger of it. There were many situations where Inoryu would prefer death than paralysis. For instance, being captured by enemy ninja and forced to share Intelligence.

    How wary was the silence; the quiet observer, but Inoryu was getting used to it. It was a shame that Inoryu had no medical practice, otherwise he might have a way to remove the paralysis. He closed his eyes mindfully and produced four shadow clones. He wasn't a medic, it couldn't be helped, but this technique was within his knowledge and he had the talent to learn it. He was sure that being on the casting end of this jutsu would give him the option of removing a foe from combat permanently without taking that person's life. 
    It could be the key to capturing an enemy ninja, and for this reason alone Inoryu wanted to learn the jutsu. If he mastered it, perhaps he would be able to capture several enemy ninja and deliver them to the Kusakage. He knew the value of Intelligence and he was taught that it was more valuable to keep an enemy alive for interrogation. However, when all of the Intel had been gained from the enemy, what happens to them next would depend on the circumstances. The shadow clones appeared ready to take the jutsu. 
    Inoryu weaved the twelve hand seals and targeted shadow clone number one. He prepared a movement for the mind transferal. If the genjutsu was successful, it would transfer to shadow clone two. Then he cast the phantasmal lich jutsu on shadow clone two and prepared a movement to transfer it to shadow clone three if it failed. He proceeded to cast the same jutsu on shadow clone three and prepared a movement to transfer it to shadow clone four if it failed. Lastly, he cast the genjutsu on shadow clone four and prepared a movement to transfer it to shadow clone one if it failed.

    Inoryu sensed that his genjutsu was only successful on the last shadow clone and he fell where he stood, hitting the ground in an unsightly manner. He hurried and weaved the hand seals for the jutsu repeatedly casting it again on the first shadow clone, and preparing the mind transfer to the second. Then he cast it on the second shadow clone and prepared a mind transfer for the third. Lastly, he cast it on the third shadow clone and prepared a mind transfer for the first. 
    Shadow clone one and two dropped to the ground after being touched by the phantasmal figure and only shadow clone number three was left standing. He quickly weaved through the hand seals again and he was able to resist another time. Inoryu was determined to paralyze all of his shadow clones as quickly as possible, since they were merely targets and not in this instance sparring partners. He weaved through the hand seals again and still he resisted. 
    The chunin hadn't expected he would need to exercise so much patience. He weaved the hand seals again and though the shadow clone believed in the creature, he was still capable of resisting the effect of the phantasmal lich's touch. Inoryu tried again, weaving the twelve hand seals fluently and shooting the phantasm into the target's mind. Still the shadow clone was able to resist. Inoryu took a deep breath and patiently worked through the exercise.

    Inoryu weaved through the hand seals as he was prepared to cast the genjutsu as many times as need be. His next attempt, the shadow clone believed the lich but resisted it's touch effect. Then the shadow clone resisted again and again until finally the he succumbed to the genjutsu. The shadow clone dropped to the ground completely and permanently paralyzed with the other three shadow clones. 
    Not wanting the clones to suffer the effects anymore than necessary, he dismissed them immediately. He took a breath and reflected on the exercise. He applied what he learned to possible scenarios where capturing an enemy was desired or the mission. Such a mission would be easier with support but his impression was that a mission like that would be too much for him to handle on his own. 
    He considered the time it took to paralyze all of the shadow clones. It definitely took at least a minute due to the last one standing, whose luck was on his side. Then again, maybe Inoryu was exaggerating, he couldn't really tell. He hadn't thought about using a stop watch before beginning the exercise. He breathed deeply, happy that he had at least gotten an impression of the jutsu.

Description: Affects anyone who sees the user. The user is able to perform this technique on themselves. duration of this technique lasts for 50 minutes per class level. User can seem 1 foot shorter or taller, thin, fat, or in between. User cannot change their body type. For example, a human user could look human, humanoid, or like any other human-shaped bipedal creature. Otherwise, the extent of the apparent change is up to the user. The user could add or obscure a minor feature or look like an entirely different person. The Jutsu does not provide the abilities or mannerisms of the chosen form, nor does it alter the perceived tactile (touch) or audible (sound) properties of the user or their equipment. A battleaxe made to look like a dagger still functions as a battleaxe. A creature that interacts with the Glamour gets a save to recognize it as an illusion. For example, a creature that touched the user and realized that the tactile sensation did not match the visual one would be entitled to such a save.

    Inoryu paused as his mind roamed to a lesson from his father. Shoza had explained that a a non-chakra related disguise was the most reliable kind due to the special properties of various doujutsu. He explained that any chakra related disguise could be observed by a doujutsu's property to see chakra, therefore using a disguise kit was recommended. "But even a chakra-related disguise may have it's applications," Inoryu thought, "I could layer myself in disguises, one using genjutsu, and the other using the disguise. If I was caught using genjutsu as a disguise, then in order to escape, I would have another disguise already prepared. I could hide in plain sight while my pursuers are looking for someone in a glamour. Also, while using a traditional disguise kit was more reliable, it also took time to prepare. If the target or their associates did not have a doujutsu among them, access to a disguise would be swift. And even if I was discovered to be in disguise, I would still be concealed by the glamour." 

    He hadn't practiced how to craft a disguise by using genjutus, but he was always aware that it was within his power to do so. Having learned about disguise from his father, he was sure that he was mature enough to discern when to apply a disguise by using genjutsu or traditional means. Since he understood the pros and cons of each method, he decided that it was time to learn how. The process was really quite simple. He focused on which hand seals he would need and remembered from a book he had read long ago of the glamour perception. 

    He weaved two hand seals and transformed a tiny amount of chakra into a glamour. The chakra enveloped him and he used it to change his appearance completely. His hair had turned black and his irises turned to the color of chocolate. His dark grey shirt turned into an off-white colored button up shirt with brown vines that embroidered the right side and seemed to spill over on the left. His black cargo shorts took on a brown color, and his shoes became black with a flat top, wide toes and a thick border. His skin tone became a tan that was almost golden. He knew the disguise to be complete. He was satisfied with how simple it was and how little chakra it took.

    Upon working the disguise self jutsu, Inoryu noticed something that he hadn't been able to pick up on before. There was a subtle reaction between the glamour chakra and the chakra still stored in the body. He figured this was because improving as a ninja meant acquiring an even finer perception of chakra control. It was as if two different energies of the same frequency coalesced. It was a marvelous union of glamour and bodily chakra.
    Inoryu wondered if this union happened with every jutsu that targeted the self and began to experiment. He formed two hand seals and expedited a small amount of chakra to render him invisible. He remained perceptive and witnessed the same union of glamour and bodily chakra. He thought that there must be some way to improve his genjutsu in light of this new information. The swift invisibility jutsu naturally faded after a short duration. 
    The lone chunin repeated the same two hand seals and his objective was to somehow improve his genjutsu. The glamour chakra enveloped him like an invisible wind that swept away his visual presence, all the while Inoryu was fixated on the coalescence of the chakra. It was the same premise: two different energies of the same frequency becoming one, so he concluded that this affect happened every time. He decided to try another self targeting genjutsu after the swift invisibility glamour faded. He weaved through eight hand seals for the original invisibility jutsu.

    Inoryu observed as the glamour overcame his physical body and render him completely invisible. He noticed that this effect wasn't a coalescence of two energies but rather the glamour was like a barrier to the bodily chakra. He found it interesting that another self targeting jutsu would have a different affect on his chakra network and it provided him a hypothesis. He dismissed the invisibility jutsu and reappeared, ready to implement his theory. He began weaving the hand seals and completed them in a matter of seconds. 
    He observed the glamour chakra as it was made more subtle in order to coalesce with his chakra network. His method revealed some improvement, as some, though not all, of the glamour chakra was softened and intertwined with his chakra network. He dismissed the invisibility jutsu and tried again. After the hand seals were completed, he observed as the chakra was softened further and even more chakra entwined. He dismissed the glamour and tried. After the hand seal component was complete, the nature of the glamour was so subtle that it and his chakra network unified completely. 
    This was a great improvement on his method as he determined that this coalescence of chakra made his genjutsu more believable. Now he wanted to determine if he could manage the same affect on another variation of the invisibility jutsu. He dismissed the glamour, reappearing to the world another time. If someone were to observe his training, it may look as though he was flickering in and out of existence, or to the rather resilient mind, merely look as though he was practicing hand seals. Flickering into existence again, revealed him weaving another series of hand seals and vanishing.

    This variation of the invisibility jutsu allowed the user to choose which creatures would negate the jutsu. It was a good jutsu for using invisibility in the midst of allies. For this instance, he would select the insects that were in the vicinity so they may see through the glamour. However, that was inconsequential. His real focus was to perceive how the glamour chakra interacted with his chakra network. Would it coalesce or would it act as a barrier? 
    The glamour chakra in this instance seemed to mix and the affect was a different type of energy. Not so different that this type of chakra did not already exist in the body and outside, but rather different that it seemed the resulting mixture was neither chakra or glamour, yet at the same time both. However, the effect was the same, that he would be rendered invisible to all who succumbed other than himself and the insects. Still, this was an interesting finding. He hadn't expected that the two chakra would change. 
    Prior to the selective invisibility jutsu, the swift invisibility jutsu was the same frequency as his chakra network; most likely because the glamour chakra wasn't as potent and lasted for mere seconds. The invisibility jutsu had to be softened quite a bit in order for it to mingle within his chakra network. Perhaps the frequency of the selective invisibility was more different than the previous ones, like a note belonging to another octave. He dismissed the jutsu, flickering back into existence for a short moment, and weaved the hand seals again while selecting the same onlookers.
