“Greetings Tomoko.” Zuruel smiled as Mo’s sturdy iron walls opened to reveal his figure. He had arrived quite quickly. Almost eerily so thanks to the numerous Hiraishin seals littered throughout the village. “Ryu too and… A newcomer?” Spotting the Cloud headband on his person, the warm greeting was extended to the teen he had never met before. “We will leave these guests in your capable hands General.” Upon escorting the Cloud trio out of the cable car, the guard slammed his fist against his chest before entering it again and sending the rickety contraption back down the mountain.
“I trust none of you have a fear of heights?” He snickered as he analysed the group’s demeanor. The ride could not have been a pleasant one for anyone suffering with a touch of vertigo. “So, what brings you all to Mo? Business or pleasure?” Zuruel was curious just how formal this trip was for Tomoko and her cohort. He’d have to tailor the tour accordingly based on the answer. “Either way, make yourselves at home. The guards were warned of your arrival, so you are all free to explore as you please.” The group would notice that Zuruel wore his standard attire. Black clothing with a dark-grey cloak that stretched all the way to his knees. Lady, his black furred Moon Dog, appeared to not be with him.
Despite not having entered Mo’s gates yet, the group would notice several things. Six guards were stationed outside of the gates with attire very similar to the ones in the cable car. Although their expressions were stern and their postures strong like tree-trunks, the occasional glance couldn’t help but shift at the trio. Like the previous two guards, these men weren’t used to visitors. Outsiders usually meant invaders. This was one of the rare few moments they were allowed to enjoy the company of genuine guests.
The group would also notice several other key points about their surroundings. Mo’s iron walls were tall. Almost ridiculously so. The open gates also showed that they were thick. Able to withstand the strongest of onsalughts, the group would be able to see why Mo required so few guards around the perimeter of the village. Peaking beyond Zuruel’s shoulder, the group would be able to spot dirt roads and rectangular buildings with flat roofs within the protection of the circular walls. Being a lively village, cheers and general haggling could be heard as children played their games while the older individuals either trained or roamed around the various market stalls littering the entrance to the village. Despite being far from the heart of the city, there were signs of liveliness left and right.
