The next version of the bold stare that Yoko attempted to learn was called Disquiet, again it favoured her stealth type build for under normal circumstances Yoko would attempt to operate at night. The technique in question furthered the opponent's sense of tension their displeasure with their environment. Turning even a small fear of the dark into a raging emotion that could easily overwhelm low-level guards.

This seemed particularly effective when combined with some of her other abilities in which she could create areas of total darkness and thus meet the requirements for the shaken condition to take effect. She could also combine the effect to heighten their sense of fear even further making it quite a useful ability in the scheme of things. Yoko looked off into the distance attempting to enforce the ability.

Of course, she wasn't quite sure how to go about such a thing, did she have to picture the emotion in her mind and then impart that into her gaze? It certainly seemed different stuff especially when one had to try and learn it by themselves. She couldn't help but wonder how this effect was only situationally useful, given that in particular darkness like a torchlight the effect would not take hold.

Yoko decided to skip over the next few abilities for the time being having no real need to increase the difficulty of poison or disease nor reduce night vision for her opponent. Instead, the next technique that she focused on was called oscillation, as the name implied Yoko could only assume that this had a negative effect on her opponent's vision. She quickly pulled a text out and began to read into the particulars of the technique.

In doing so she seemingly ignored her previous desire to be done with books for the day, but she was so caught up in the moment that she had seemingly changed her mind. Indeed the technique did in fact negatively affect an opponent's vision, specifically beyond ten metres. Everyone beyond this distance minus Yoko would obtain concealment. This was again quite a narrow application of the technique but one that she intended to make great use of.

For example, under normal circumstances when one was one this technique had little use. But when used alongside a companion one could render the companion concealed without the need for a stealth check. This could be further augmented by Yoko's natural ability to conceal herself, therefore she could effectively hide her whole party, while she herself hid in their shadows, an interesting all be it a limited application of the technique in unison with other techniques and abilities.

Yoko had initially skipped over Psychic Inception believing its effects to be rather subpar, however, upon further consideration, she had managed to figure out a rather useful application of the technique. She quickly flicked to the page in the text to confirm whether her beliefs were correct. Yes, this version of bold stare allowed the hypnotic stare to effect a range of creatures that were normally immune.

The prime application of this technique that the youth had thought of was the undead, why one might ask. Well, the undead didn't normally light their way? They normally remained in darkness having either no cause to use a light due to darkvision, or a lack of means by which to generate it and hold a torch in the case of the shambling zombies or skeletons. The application that she was now contemplating should have been clear with that information in mind.

Yoko wanted to combine the recently acquired disquiet with this ability to affect undead to cause debilitating effects upon them. Of course, the other applications of bold stare would also be useful, but for the time being this combination seemed to be particularly useful against any opponent that naturally inhabited the darkness. She even stopped to contemplate the effect of the technique on the creatures she had encountered during the chunin exam.

In light of the new addition of a technique, she had previously overlooked Yoko elected to reread the applications of bold stare to see if there was anything that she had missed. There was indeed a new addition to applying to the list, however, that would be added to her list at a later date. For the time being, she instead elected to move to the next technique in alphabetical order, restriction.

Much like disquiet before this technique dealt with lighting conditions, namely, dim light and darker areas. Given how frequently areas of dim light occurred this technique seemed to have a far more wide application to disquiet, and could, in fact, be combined. Hmm, it seemed that this technique could also be particularly effective against undead. The ability meant that the opponent would have to treat these areas as difficult terrain.

Yoko sat and pondered why such an effect would occur, perhaps it was to do with their own vision. They lacked the ability to perceive what was in these areas with any great clarity so had to advance at a slower pace in order to avoid harm? The real flaw, of course, was the use of a lighting source, namely, that you brought said lighting source with you in most circumstances, and as a consequence where rarely advancing in unlit areas.

Yoko had taken an interest in the intimidation skill set since she had reformed her body, she had never really thought about it due to her small stature but she could quite the intimidating presence. The rate of crime in her village, for example, was very low, or at least what the young Mizukage considered crime namely the serious offensives murder, rape, slavery and the like. The latter of which she had little leniency with.

She could not abide slavery, and instead operated by an idea of treat those how you would like to be treated without impacting on their personal liberties, she was rather chaotic at heart after all. The laws either way had been followed with great success mainly due to the fear the criminal underworld had for the young Mizukage. She did not mind the trafficking of drugs for example, so the underworld still had the means by which they could make a profit.

But the fact that she was a master of stealth weighed heavily on many of their minds, at any time during the trafficking of slaves she could be there silently watching, they could be mere moments from death. This technique further augmented this ability for those who were under her gaze causing her powers of intimidation and persuasion to grown before those with a feeble mind.

The next application of the technique centred on sapping the opponent's power, mainly their physical power. Of course, the Sharingan had no means by which to drain the power in reality but rather the effect of the Sharingan on the mind tricked an opponent into feeling sluggish. Of all the technique's variations, this one seemed to have the broadest application in Yoko's mind at least.

For it imparted a penalty upon the opponent's movements, literally allowing them to take fewer actions within a given period. Needless to say, this was totally debilitating for a low-level guard or ninja robbing them of a high portion of their motions. Against a higher skilled opponent, this wasn't quite as effective but still against those specialising in ninjutsu or genjutsu it could be devastating.

Yoko looked across the training grounds and began to impart the effect of her stare upon a few of her ninjas, they were, of course, unaware of the source of their tiredness. And instead must have attributed it to their hard training, in all situations their movement slowed and it seemed that most simply took a break. Unfortunately for her opponent's on the battlefield they would be unable to take such action and would instead have to power onwards. Although that being said making a guard go on a break was a useful side effect.

The final application of the skill that Yoko sought to obtain for the time being was the ability to destroy an opponents grip on reality. Alas, she had to make do with something called susceptibility, a technique that reduced their ability to tell whether someone was lying or build a general hunch. Of course, this was effective as Yoko could help to augment her acting skills with it, but it also applied to people that she observed.

That was to say that their eyes did not have to meet. Thus, she could influence people from afar, essentially assisting them with their actions. In doing so Yoko helped to assist her allies with their deceptions and feigns. In fact, this could have been particularly effective against a boss type opponent, as the whole party would benefit from the increase in feinting odds amongst other effects.

It seemed to hold true that one should really be careful when facing an Uchiha. Alas, unlike before Yoko had no real means of testing this technique out, a matter that was further complicated by her high skill in this area already: if she was to try and deceive your average ninja in the area she would have succeeded with or without the technique. Thus, she resolved to try it with some of her ANBU at a later date and see how she got on.

The next technique on Yoko's list was there with good reason, Enigmatic Stare. Yoko was a stealth-based ninja, a traditionalist as she liked to put it, therefore she was always engaged in an arms race with her opponents as they constantly invented new gadgets and abilities designed to overcome her ability to hide from them. As such, an ability that aided in this endeavour was highly sought after.

Enigmatic Stare was one such ability, allowing Yoko to make herself harder to perceive much as she had learned to do previously with the oscillation ability. The idea was that by gazing upon them even an oblivious opponent's mind could be bent to her will making it harder for them to perceive her presence, a powerful ability when applied correctly.

Again, however, Yoko faced a bit of difficulty with its application for training, she had read through her textbooks, but her skill with stealth was already so high that normal people could rarely observe her. Thus, she lacked a real control group from which she could base the technique's effectiveness, thus the reality of the situation was that this technique, unlike its counterparts, would only really be effective against highly skilled opponents.

There was one last Uchiha technique that Yoko sought to master at the current moment in time, the ability to blur her appearance. But how would she accomplish such a feat? Well, the shimmering body technique allowed its user to inflict a considerable
debuff on an opponent, providing they were the focus of the Uchiha's gaze. Yes, when Yoko moved around the battlefield she would appear as a shimmering blur to her target.

Needless to say, this technique was highly prized due to the evasive options it offered its user. Yoko under normal circumstances would elect to use her stealth based tactics to remain hidden from an opponent, as such this technique would only really be used against a powerful opponent. This was in line with the power scaling of the technique as well: what Yoko mean by that was a dodge effective was more useful against stronger opponents.

Namely, stronger opponents generally used stronger attacks, thus, gaining an increased chance of dodging said the attack could prevent higher levels of damage. Thus helped the youth in her effort to be able to resist higher levels of damage through the idea of becoming a dodge tank: essentially soaking damage for the party through being the target of attacks but dodging them as opposed to withstanding them with a shield or the like.

Description: Picture The Sharingan is the most feared ability of the Uchiha Clan. This unique ability manifests in a clan member's eyes, and while some might call it a genetic aberration of deformity, the Uchiha have used this gift to devastating effect. In some members this ability will only let them anticipate or predict the path of an attack. The user activates this ability as a "C" Rank weaving movement that does not provoke an opportunity of attack. Each Rank learned the user gains a Tomoe (maximum 3). User gains a +10 insight bonus to Investigate, Observation, Reading Lips, and Forgery (to copy writers) checks per Tomoe. User gains a +10 insight bonus to Sense Motive against Feints per Tomoe. User gains a +2 insight bonus to Intimidate per Tomoe. User gains a +2 insight bonus to Will Saves against GenJutsu and Mind-Affecting Jutsus per Tomoe. Yoko had successfully managed to cultivate a sharingan for her new body, she had gathered together the DNA from various uchihas from a bygone age and applied her alchemical knowhow to them. The process had been a long and drawn out one, one that many considered impossible but she knew better. Yes, it was currently impossible for modern technology or medical ninjutsu to effective transfer a sharingan between a host.

Once the sharingan was implanted it lost all of its effectiveness turning simply into a normal eye. The process had captured the attention of many a medic and alchemist and as so often was the case with the field of research had consumed many of their lives. In some cases, this had literally lead to the death of the researcher due to grave robbing whilst in others, it was more in the figurative sense: they had studied all of their life to achieve nothing.

As was so often the case with alchemical gemstones, herbs or even advanced medical jutsus. The fabled dye wood armour was an example of this, a wooden armour that apparently rivalled the hardness of starmetal. No living alchemist had managed to achieve such a feat nor had there been reputable documentation of such experiments working.

Yoko, however, did not see it that way, to her mind they had not failed, but rather they had discovered many different ways in which to not unlock the Sharingan. She, on the other hand, had a rather ingenious plan, it seemed futile after all to attempt to transplant the Sharingan into a host body. So instead she had to approach the problem from another angle, much like the alchemists that came before her.

Many of the rarer and powerful gemstones, for example, had been discovered within living memory, further proving the point that there was still things out there that they had yet to discover. To her mind, the Sharingan transplantation was simply one amongst the many things that humanity would eventually learn. Yoko, however, had a keen plan, rather transplant an eye into her body she would instead cultivate a body that contained Sharingan.

The idea, of course, was far simpler on paper than it was in practice, but the idea seemed to be a solid one. This had all played into Yoko's master plan in which she intended to reforge her original body into a perfected one. Or to be exact she was to create a new body and transfer her consciousness into it. This was a feat that was considered a mere legend amongst alchemists, and came with a terrible price per the sayings of old
