Rock of Remembrance

Effect: This unique Enchantment imbues a single rock, stone, or boulder with the ability to “remember” all sounds that occur within 40 meters of it.

Description: Affects 1 rock. The user is able to perform this technique on the target they touch. The duration of this technique lasts for 5 days per class level. This technique may be negated. By speaking a special command word, the user (and only the user) can listen to the sounds. Sounds are retained by the rock permanently unless it is destroyed, turned from rock to mud, or other similar Jutsu that affects stone, in which case all sounds retained are lost forever.
Limit: Must know the Enchantment Perception.

As she had discovered the second rock and was now also getting a feel for its chemical makeup and chakra abilities, she aws ready to form a second rock of remembrance and see what else she could spy upon. There was a building that she had never been inside of before where she went, holding the rock in her hand and looking away. This gave her the time and privacy to form the handseals and do the same thing with this stone that she had done earlier. Soon her chakra was imbuing its inner networking and informing the stone to mirror auditory cues. She took the rock and left it outside of the entrance doors of the building, not wanting to go inside herself. It would be better to be prepared for a new mentor and choose the one that would work out the best. All of a sudden someone walked past and Valerys thought that she was in trouble, but they just assumed that she was tossing a rock on the ground.

The person didn't look at her much but walked into the building, and Valerys went off to meditate on her own for a short time. As she did, she found herself looking around at all of the rocks and pebbles which littered the sandy desert. She had gained a new appreciation for these stones and thought of them as a new tool to be manipulated by her genjutsu. Who knew that enchantments could work on so many things? After sitting alone for some time underneat the hot sun, Valerys made her way back toward Sekai's building to collect the rock that she had left behind the lobby. It had been about three hours and Valerys thought that should be enough time to get some valuable information. When she had collected this one, Valerys also began making her way toward the unknown building where she had left the second rock.

When she had both of them in her possession, noticing them out of all the other rocks thanks to her observations of them earlier, she got down to business. She sat cross legged in her room and held them close by, using her chakra to investigate each of their exteriors and feel the chakra that had been absorbed into them. Soon it was funneling back into her body and Valerys was listning to the sounds from inside of Sekai's building. She had several students over and instructed them in a way similar to how she had taught Valerys, always about the rock of rememberance. After listening for some time, and hearing many students taught this technique, she heard Sekai's voice say over the recording, "Hello students. I know you're listening. Good job on mastering your rock of remembrance technique. Your sensei is very proud of you."

Valerys didn't know what she wanted to train on this day, as she appeared into the courtyard of the dojo and looked up at the ever bright sun of the Land of Wind. She looked at all of the buildings, and none of them seemed to speak to her or intrigue her to learn their techniques. There was, however, always something that she fell back on which was her cold and cunning personality. After several days here she had started to become familiar with many of the students. Rarilue and Eldwich are a couple of them, but she had also met a young woman with red hair by the name of Rogue. All of them were nice enough people, but Valerys saw them for what they truly were: bait to be used to make herself more manipulative and decietful. As the four of them began to hang out more regularly, Valerys began to gain a better appreciation for their skills and attitudes on life. She used this information to change the way that she behaved and held herself around them, as well as the very nature of her acting abilities.

As the four of them would talk, Valerys would act as if she were a part of their group -- that she actually cared about whatever crazy jutsu or fighting style that they might be talking about on that particular day. They were fanatics for power, which appealed to Valerys and she did not have to fake, but they had a loyalty to one another that was hard to replicate. Valerys acted as if they were her friends, and in this way she was able to train while they had their conversations. A ploy that she was sure none of the others had thought of yet. It was good to have company Valerys found, healthy competition could push her quite a bit. When she had decieved the group enough to believe that she was on their side, she found that they opened up to her more. Rogue liked to talk to Valerys (her red-haired female friend) about all of the battles she hoped to fight. Valerys would act like she was excited about this as well, but really wanted to fight Rogue more than anything else.

As the four of them would hang out, they would often go out to either catch their own meals in the wild or take them together from the cafeteria and local students who sold these sorts of goods. As Valerys traveled with them and hunted with them, she also found it easy to steal from their pockets and bags. The students were not as well-versed in detection and observation as they should have been, meaning that when they left notes in their pockets Valerys had an easy time picking them out. Inside she would find hidden messages, usually to other students she did not know describing various hints to power. It seemed that this dojo truly had its own little community of people who sought to gain knowledge. It was through these activities that Valerys' gleaned this information, and used her acting skills to keep it hidden. No one knew that she was catching on to the truth of the Senpu Dojo.

Now that she had been closer to all of the students who trained at the Senpu dojo, Valerys decided that she needed to meet with each of them separately and begin acting as if she were looking out for their best interest. Due to her leadership training, Valerys was quite skilled at leading and telling other people what to do. In order to enhance this skill, Valerys knew that she would need to be able to act like she was friendly or otherwise toward allies. She had gotten close to one of the men named Eldwich who had told her a lot about the Land of Rain. One day after some classes, Valerys met him and said that she would love if the two of them could go meditate out in the desert. Eldwich seemed a little concerned that no one else was coming along, but Valerys bluffed her way through it and in time he was agreeing to go out into the desert with her.

As the two of them made their way out into the desert, Valerys began saying things to Eldwich in hopes of gaining his trust. She told him that she had a complicated backstory and immediately Eldwich was enthralled, imploring her to go on. Valerys hoped that she didn't mess it up, knowing that if she was caught lying it could be very bad for her. "You know that I was born here in the Land of Wind, but did you know that I was once part of a cult? There is rumors of an ancient cult here in the Land of Wind and I met them." Eldwich seemed genuinely surprised and as if he believed her, asking her to go on out of his curiousity. Valerys smlied and knew that she was doing quite well at acting so far.

"Well, while living on the docks near a large mountain range, their leader arrived on a ship claiming to be from some distant land. I didn't know much about where he came from, but he immediately picked me out of the crowd. I was young at the time." All of this were lies that Valerys was coming up with in the moment, using her excellent imaginative skills and ever-changing personality to craft the story. "He told me that I was special and meant to join their organization. I believed him." Valerys tried to appear sad, to gain sympathy from the man and put her acting skills to good use. Eldwich seemed to believe her with a deep look that continued to grow throughout his pupils at he peered at her. Valerys continued with her story.

"So I listened to him. Oddly enough, the man did show me great power as he took me further into the Land of Wind and told me about a city -- a city that I was destined to go to." Although this (like all of it) was a lie, Valerys felt that it held some secret meaning. She had often thought that she was destined to find some great place or person, but did not try to convey too many details as she spoke to Eldwich. "After teaching me some powerful techniques, he left." Valerys said simply, knowing that acting as if she had been taught techniques by a powerful cult would enthrall him. She had found the notes in his pockets earlier detailing powerful techniques he wanted to learn -- Valerys knew that this would only draw him in even more.
"That's profound," Eldwich said, "Would you be willing to tell me more of these powers?"

"I don't know," Valerys said cunningly, using her acting skills to try to draw him in further, "I'm not sure that it would be the best idea just yet. But maybe if we were to sit out here and be among one another I could feel more comfortable." With that the two of them sat among the sand and Valerys acted like a calm, introspective individual -- while she appreciated a good meditation she was by no means thinking about god or ethics. As the two of them were sitting there, and Eldwich had his eyes closed, Valerys would attempt to perform a genjutsu technique without him seeing her handseals. It was over very quickly, less than a second, and it seemed that Eldwich never even heard her hands move. In that moment his intelligence was raised -- as Valerys thought it best to keep him happy. For now.

After that Valerys and Eldwich drifted apart, he continuing with his studies and Valerys with her know (although he didn't know it). Valerys then rought out Rarilue, a young boy with white hair, who she had met only briefly through Eldwich. After some searching she discovered him and ran up to him, saying, "Lue, it is so good to see you. I've gotten into a little bit of trouble and need your help." Lue looked concerned, a good sign, and asked Valerys what was going on. "Hurry Lue, there is no time for questions. Even as we sit here, he is getting away."
"Who is he?"
But Valerys would take off running before answering the questions, leaving Lue looking after her and deciding what to do. Although Valerys hoped that it was not even a decision, that she had acted so perfectly that he would follow. Lue watched for only a second before running after Valerys.

Lue followed after Valerys as she ran away from the dojo and down the sand dunes toward a spot that she knew well not far away. She would often travel out here to think and plot her schemes. As Lue chased her he yelled, "Where are you going?" But Valerys payed him no mind, using her acting skills to create a distraction and cause him to want to follow her. Eventually the two of them came around a bend and huge sand dunes to discover a small puddle of water. "Here," Valerys said coming up on the spot and looking around wildly, "This is where the man was."
"Who?" Lue asked, looking around wildly.
"The man. A man who said that he was here to kill me." She tried to act as if she genuinely believed a man had been in this spot, using even her body language and looking around wildly for signs of life. "He could be anywhere. He seemed to appear out of nowhere." Valerys hoped she was good enough to convince Lue that this was true.

Lue looked around, clearly concerned that he couldn't see anybody that Valerys might be talking about. He looked at her as if she might be a little crazy and said, "Are you sure?"
"Of course I'm sure," Valerys said trying to keep the look of fright on her face. Lue sighed and said, "Alright then, let's get to work. We'll go around each side an attempt to look for the man." Valerys knew that she had succeeded in tricking Lue at this point and went along with the facade, searching for the man that she knew was not there. Although Lue seemed to be very into his job, looking over sand dunes and trying to sneak up on the man who did not exist. As the two of them found nothing after a long time, Lue asked Valerys to talk to him and tell him about the man that she had seen. Valerys started to think of a lie, a deception, that could get her out of this conversation and created the image of a man in her head. With that, she started to tell Lue about his appearance which had been completely fabricated within a few seconds.

"He was a tall man, well built and stocky. He had brown hair and stubble all across his face and neck. He didn't wear any headbands or have identifying marks, except for a tattoo on his left arm." Lue seemed impressed that she had remembered so much and said, "It's admirable to want to find and defeat this man, but let's go back to the dojo." Valerys agreed and the two of them went back. As they were walking, Valerys said to him, "Thank you for helping me out Lue. I know that we know many of the students here well, but I want you to know that I really consider you a friend." As she was saying this, Valerys tried to change her body language so that Lue would not guess that she was being unfaithful. It wasn't that she didn't like him, it was just that Valerys found no enjoyment from friendship -- but she sure planned on acting like she did. Soon of the two of them had reached the dojo again and Lue asked Valerys if she wanted to train together for a bit.

As the two of them arrived back to the dojo, they went to the genjutsu training building, led by Sekai, and the two of them began to spar for a short time. As the two of them trained with one another, Valerys found that her bloodlust was becoming greater and she wanted to engage in greater combat. However, she could not let these emotions show -- knowing that she had to show Lue that she could handle such a simple session. As the two of them continued to train, Valerys controlled her breath and her body as much as she could to show that she was not getting combative. Her body seemed to mimic her breath, and it took her just a few seconds to put her body more at ease. Soon, even though the bloodlust was radiating throughout her body, Valerys knew that she was not going to act upon it.

After Valerys and Lue had sparred for a little while, Valerys told him that she had to go and meet with another by the name of Rogue. Rogue was a female student that she had met only briefly and never spoken to, but she was excited to use her new acting abilities to persuade her toward her side. She looked around the dojo for a little while before stumbling upon the red haired girl training just outside one of the buildings. She had a sword in her hand and armor covering her body. "Hello, it's good to see you again," Valerys said as she walked over. "I don't believe that we properly introduced ourselves. My name is Valerys. It's nice to meet you." Valerys beamed at Rogue, trying her best not to seem at all intimidating but kind and friendly. Although, Rogue's expression didn't seem to be one of pleasure.

Rogue looked at Valerys and said, "Don't be so friendly. I can tell what you're doing. Your acting skills may be good, but if an opponent has the ability to sense motives then you'll be deflected everytime." Valerys looked at the girl and asked her, still trying to improve her acting skills but knowing it didn't work, "And how do you know so much about it?" Rogue smiled and moved forward, looking Valerys over and probably using her own form of acting. "I am an actor myself," she said, "And if you want to get good, you'll need to start embodying the persona that you display. Become the actor that is within you -- it is all a game after all." Valerys grinned, this was true. Often her interactions turned out as games and acting was an ominiscient hand that seemed to be able to place her into better positions on the board. As Valerys was talking to Rogue she started to think about the persona that she was displaying.

She wanted to be a friendly woman, seeming to come over to give advice and make friends. She envisioned herself as this persona and thought about that a woman of this nature would move and talk. She decided that it would be with confidence but not pride. That a woman like this would have a smile that was not too wide, but just the right size and fit. She looked at Rogue and tried putting on various smiles, and her Kedoin shapeshifting abilities helped to make this possible. Rogue watched a bit in shock, and Valerys tried on several different sorts of mouths, lips, and even tongues. She tried to find the perfect smile and left it upon her face, looking at Rogue and saying, "Is this better?"
"Holy shit!" Rogue shouted and said, "Hell yea. Now fix up that devilish look aand you'll be well on your way." Valerys tried her best, but she wasn't sure that she had mastered her "devilish" gaze.

Valerys left Rogue after that, to go to sleep she claimed. Apparently, her acting abilities had been good enough to get this lie past her and Valerys went to her room. Once there, she began to meditate for a short time and contemplate herself as an actor (just as Rogue had said). She saw herself weaving in and out of conversations and people with ease, knowing that her Kedoin abiltiies already gave her a stiff advantage. As she was meditating, Valerys would allow her bloodline to alter and shift her appearance. Suddenly she would no longer appear to be Valerys, or even a woman for that matter. Suddenly she would become Rarilue, the student who she had sparred with earlier. She imagined him as clearly as possible and allowed her body to alter her skin, chest, waist, and everything about her. Then she looked in a mirror and trained herself to make sure that she was acting well. She gave that perfect smile and tried her best to get rid of her devilish gaze.

After Valerys looked enough like Rarilue and could act like him enough, she decided to go out and see if Rogue was still training in her usual spot. While it was one thing to act while you were still in your ordinary appearance, she suspected that this would be a different type of acting all together. Now she would need to rely on Rarilue's mannerism, body movements, and thoughts. She wasn't sure if her training had prepared her enough for this but trusted in herself, and did indeed find Rogue training in her usual spot. She snuck up from the back and emerged saying, "Hey, how's it going?" Rogue turned around. "Oh hey, Rarilue, how are you?" Valerys silently complimented herself and looked over Rogue, now a bit taller than her in Lue's body. "I'm doing well. I saw you training her and thought that I would join in."
"Please do," Rogue said and Valerys wanted to burst out laughing, but her acting prevented her. She was learning quite a lot from this girl.

Valerys, acting as Rarilue, trained with Rogue for about an hour. She acted as she was becoming more familiar with weapons, which she thought was something that Lue had mentioned, and threw some of her kunai and senbon at specific targets. Thanks to skills she already had in these areas she was able to hit the mark almost every time. Rogue watched on with fascination and completely believed that it was Rarilue who was accomplishing these feats. Valerys acted as if she were learning slowly over time, missing her first two marks and then getting better and better. Rogue's sense motive abilities must not have been perfect either, or else her Kedoin bloodline had given her an unfair advantage, as she never figured out that it was really Valerys. Until the end when she let down her disguise and said, "Would you say that I've gotten better at acting now?" Rogue stood their with her mouth open and dumbfounded.
