"Ask as many questions as you like," Eldwich replied, and Valerys intended on keeping him to that promise. She started out by asking about the organizational nature of the Uchiha, and how their hiearchy was structured. Eldwich told her all about it and when she asked for the names of his leaders and mentors, he gave them gladly. In this way she discovered many of the most powerful Uchiha and kept this in mind in case she ever needed to find them, or impersonate them. As Valerys was learning more and more, it occurred to her that she did not even know the insignia of this clan -- the metaphorical symbol which they adhered to. Valerys asked Eldwich to show it to her. He turned around and took off his coat, letting Valerys seen the back of his shirt underneath.

There was an image of a red and white fan on a black background, and when Valerys asked about it Eldwich smiled. He took her out into the desert and formed handseals, blowing out an enormous ball of fire in response. Valerys looked on in wonder, her face getting hot, and asked, "And what was that all about?"
"That," Eldwich said, "Is why the symbol of the Uchiha is the fan. Most of us have a fiery nature, and the fan represents the power which fans our fire jutsu." Valerys was proud of this response. She knew that the Kedoin had their own symbol, a faceless man, and how appropriate both seemed to represent their cultures. As night was beginning to fall Valerys said, "Spend just a bit more time with me before you go, Eldwich. I am happy of how I've learned bu there are still just a few minor issues that we must go over." Eldwich was now a bit curious as to why she was studying the Uchiha.

"The Uchiha have been around me for years," she lied, "I thought that now that I knew one, it would be nice to learn about their culture." Eldwich seemed to believe her (perhaps thanks to her new acting skills) and allowed her to continue picking his brain for a bit. Eldwich answered many of her questions and told her legends and myths, which she asked for, about the Sharingan eye and the Uchiha past. She found that myths often held more truth than facts and wanted to know as many of them as possible. Many involved brother killing brother, and friends killing friends. Such a murderous clan, Valerys thought, A shame I don't have their powers. Although, as Valerys looked into Eldwich's eyes, she remembered the look of the Sharingan and thought on how she would replicate with her Kedoin abilities in the future. As it was getting much darker, Valerys said, "Thank you for your time Eldwich. I'm sure we'll see one another again." He was proud to help and soon the two of them had departed, Valerys filling much more educated than before.

Valerys was walking out of her room and into the sun as she strolled through the dojo, taking some time to relax after all of the studying that she had done. However, as she was walking through the towers, she stumbled upon Eldwich who she had recently learned was a member of the Uchiha clan. After having met one another, they decided that they might as well get down to some training -- since it was apparent that each one of them had powerful skills. The two of them went to Sekai's Tower and to a large room, which looked similar to a battle arena, where several figures simply stood and looked at one another -- holding handseals. They were engaged in genjutsu combat. Eldiwch and Valerys watched them, enchanted by their performance.

The two of them took up a spot along the other students, the room oddly quiet for so many people, and Eldwich activated his sharingan eyes. He looked at Valerys and began to train his own brand of genjutsu, while Valerys stared upon him and prepared herself for it to be used on herself. Valerys knew that she had to learn how to dispel genjutsu if she was ever going to be a genjutsu specialist, so she built up the chakra throughout her body and kept it circulating. Her chakra system was like a river, always twisting and turning and never standing still. Valerys hoped in this way the genjutsu would never be able to take hold of her chakra or network of consciousness. Eldwich was strong, however, as he formed a set of handseals sending his chakra storming toward her.

Valerys stayed fluid, and when his chakra confronted her body it just seemed to roll off at first. Valerys held her middle and index fingers together on each hand in a mudra, just for concentration, and her chakra filled her entire body -- not letting anything inside. Eldwich was trying to force his way upon her, sending his chakra all around her. Although she could not see it, Valerys knew it was there. Eventually the genjutsu seemed to break her and Valerys could no longer see Eldwich. It was as if he had disappeared. Valerys cursed, knowing that she had messed up, and prepared herself to try to dispel the genjutsu from within. She looked around and suddenly the whole dojo was empty of people. What sort of powerful genjutsu could Eldwich weild?

As she continued to be held by Eldwich's genjutsu, Valerys put her hands into her familiar mudra and began to send her awareness throughout her entire body. Thanks to the hours of meditation and thought she was relatively good at this, and her chakra responded readily to her consciousness. In reality of course she never moved a muscle, caught up in Eldwich's illusion, but sent her chakra storming throughout her body. The chakra seemed to touch every cell and suddenly wake her up -- as if from a dream. She came back to her body, seeing Eldwich in front of her, and he fell to his knees on the ground. Suddenly it was over. "You did well," Eldwich said with a smile. He stood back up and gave her hand a shake. "You did too," Valerys said, not lying although not wanting to admit it.

The two of them went back to their positions after that and Valerys put back up her mudra. It felt much more natural now, like it was a part of her. As she made the gesture her body had become conditioned to the swirling and chaotic chakra network that she had previously established. Eldwich sent his chakra at her again, and this time it seemed a long time before it was ever able to penetrate the barrier of her chakra network. When his genjutsu finally pierced through, Valerys was not slightly afraid. This time it seemed he was a bit more creaive, opting for turning everyone into undead -- zombies strewn around her with their jaws opening and closing wildly. She wanted to laugh. Is this what he thought would scare her? A master of the Phantasm perception?

Valerys threw her hands together and chakra seemed to burn even in the air. Her body reacted quickly and she threw off Eldwich's genjutsu -- the zombies once turning into the quiet humans that they had been before. Eldwich looked at her, impressed, and said, "Wow. Yuo learn quite fast. You are already countering my techniques with ease." Valerys had noticed and nodded. She needed to find greater genjutsu weilders, or else she was never going to discover the true power of her genjutsu dispel abilities. How much could she learn in this art? Valerys told Eldwich that she was going to train on her own and went off into one of the rooms of Sekai's Tower, intending to discover what was next. She let herself sit crosslegged on the floor and form the basis of her genjutsu dispel ability, chakra streaming through her like a river.

Description: A Mind-Affecting Technique. Affects 1 creature. The user is able to perform this technique at a distance of 30 meters plus 15 meters per class level. The duration of this technique lasts for 5 hours per class level. This technique may be negated. Everything seems normal to the targeted individual; the Jutsu constantly shifts and changes so that, no matter what is truly happening, the options before it only benefit the user. It will cloak the user as a friend, a piece of furniture, or even inside a wall. A friend reaching to harm the user is a maniac attacking its family, or even a tree that needs to be chopped down. The victims hallucinations often have no connection to reality, they only exist to keep them happy and to serve their user. Note that shaking, water, etc. does not free the victim; that requires a successful Dispel GenJutsu.
Limit: Must know the Phantasm Perception.

Valerys had been working in Sekai's Tower for several hours with Eldwich, but now he was gone and she found herself alone in the meditation room -- wondering if she should continue her genjutsu training. She went throughout the tower looking for Sekai, who often provided advice for training certain techniques and skills. Sekai had been coming down the south hall when Valerys found her, and she said, "Excuse me, Mistress, but do you have a minute?" Sekai seemed to like this and agreed to talk. "I am in need of a new technique to learn," Valerys said, "And I've come to a block. I'm not sure what direction to go." Sekai looked over the girl, who was much younger than she, and said, "What do you like to do?" Valerys explained one of her more powerful phantasm techniques -- Unreality.

Sekai knew the technique already and told her that it was possible to specialize in this move. She told Valerys that she could make it faster, train it enough so that it became second nature and could be performed with fewer handseals. Valerys was fond of this idea and agreed, asking Sekai how to go about this training. "You will use the technique many times on a willing subject -- it may become so often that you can't believe that you are still going through the motions. You must persist. Eventually, the jutsu will attune to you and it will be second nature to cast it quickly." Valerys took the words to heart and remembered them, using them as inspiration for the training that she was about to undergo.

Valerys left after that to find a quiet room to train within and found that Rarilue was already here, doing some training of his own. Valerys asked for his help to train her techique and he agreed. She forewarned him of the power of Unreality, and what it would do, but made a (perhaps not so honest) promise not to abuse Lue while he was under the technique. The two of them got down to business and Valerys did some exercises in her fingertips. She stretched them out, making sure that they were loose enough that she could freely send chakra to the region. Valerys got ready and eventually made her attempt at the handseals.

Her hands flew quicker as the chakra that was being supplied to them gave them extra momentum and dexerity. As she formed the handseals for the unreality technique, Valerys would plan them out in her head beforehand -- making sure that she knew the exact pattern and best way to get to each of the handseals as quickly as possible. Lue had been waiting for her for some time, longer than Valerys intended with a technique like this. She already knew that it was not enough. "How does one make handseals faster?" Lue looked at her quizically, perhaps also trying to think of a solution, but then Valerys remembered Sekai's advice. She was going to have to be persistent, using the technique over and over until she was tired of it. While Lue practiced some of his own training, Valerys began to use the handseals over and over, never even bothering to send any chakra to her hands.

She knew that she didn't need to use the technique to get faster at the handseals. For at least half an hour, Valerys did nothing else except weave her fingers and back and forth over one another -- making the same gestures repeatedly to the point that she was sweating just from this. She would look closely at her hands, trying to determine if there was a method where she could observe the movements and break then apart therefore finding a faster away. As the minutes went by Valerys was beginning to doubt that she was doing much of anything. But just as she was getting down, it seemed that she was beginning to see through the patterns of the handseals and knew that her fingers were suddenly moving faster. It was as if Valerys felt a small shift inside of her head and sat out to replicate it.

In her minds eye Valerys seemed to be understanding the pattern of the handseals. Her chakra moved more thoroughly thtoughtout her fingers and were manipulated by the fast handseals to create an unreality jutsu much quicker than usual. Lue had not been expecting it, faster by at least half a second, and he was caught up in the technique. Lue stood there, motionless, and then slowly began to reach his hands up to break the technique. The best thing he could do to help Valerys at this particular moment was try to get out of the genjutsu -- helping her to train. Valerys watched on by tried her best to stop him, feeling chakra into his subconscious and using the image of the handseals to focus her concentration. Lue did eventually break the technique, but afterwards a fresh stream of blood was dripping from his nose.

"That was great!" Lue said, not even phased by the fact that she had just used a powerful genjutsu against him. Valerys smiled -- it was turning out that he could be quite useful. After having memorized the technique and its handseals to a degree that made it quicker to produce, Valerys knew what needed to be done. It was just as Sekai had explained, and although she was already blue in the face from having practiced Unreality so much, she was going to have to continue. Luckily, Lue had his own plans and stuck to himself as Valerys continued to make the handseals and sit crosslegged on the floor. Soon this became a meditative practice for her, and although her eyes were open Valerys was staring at her hands and her fingers which shifted quickly between one another from mudra to mudra. She did a small chant on her breath as she meditated and formed the handseals, knowing that the experience would translate to speed in combat.

Afterwards Lue agreed to let her try it upon him and see how fast she had become. The result was terrifying -- indeed, it was as if she were casting a b-rank technique instead of the s-rank that she knew so well. "It would appear that with enough practice," Valerys said, "It is possible to master a technique." Sekai had never lied to her before and was always teaching her, making her stronger, but Valerys wondered how much else she knew -- and how powerful her mentor was. Lue was suddenly gripped by the Unreality technique and Valerys had him act on her will, telling her many of his darkest secrets. To Lue it would have appear as if he were talking to a psychologist and it was of the utmost importance to convey his problems and deepest thoughts. Valerys appeared to be the therapist.

As they talked, Valerys appeared to be be putting her fingers together in contemplation. However, in reality she was training the handseals for Unreality and becoming even faster at the technique. Training and listening to Lue thrilled her, making her feel like she was now truly a master of intel. So much personal power delighted her and satiated her evil tendencies. Valerys allowed Lue to leave the jutsu after this and he realized what she had asked. Valerys smiled and apologized, but admitted that she was just trying to get better at the technique (a lie). Lue eventually understood but the two of them parted ways. Lue went back to his room and Valerys was left to her training in Sekai's Tower. She decided to try to find her mentor and see what she had to say on the progress.

Valerys sought out her mistress, Sekai, who had taught her many genjutsu by this point and she trusted her to give suggestions for mastering the unreality technique -- making it one of her trademark illusions. Valerys went to the training hall and found her there with some students, waiting against the wall until she was ready. Once Sekai was alone Valerys went up to her and said, "You have given me much information and I'm proud to say that my unreality technique has improved greatly, but where can I go from here? Is there anything else that I can do?" Sekai smiled at Valerys and simply said, "Do you remember what I told you before?" Valerys thought back to the first time that the two of them had talked about this technique.

Valerys remembered that she had told her she would have to use the jutsu over and over, and she would believe that she could not do it anymore -- she would have to push past that. Valerys explained it to Sekai and she nodded, smiling, at Valerys. "You're exactly right. You're not done yet Valerys. Find yourself another partner here and hurry up and learn this technique. You may have hours to go -- but eventually those handseals will come as easily as a d-rank technique and you'll have no need to worry when you use it." Valerys smiled, the words of encouragement having inspired her to start training again. "Thank you."

Valerys went over to a boy that she saw with blue hair sitting against the wall, his eyes closed and holding a mudra. Valerys crouched beside him, having walked up to him quietly and said, "Hello there." The boy seemed to know she was there, somehow, and said, "How are you?" His eyes were still closed. "My name is Valerys. I need your help mastering a technique." The boy opened his right eye. "My name is Corvus. It's nice to meet you." Corvus stood up and so did Valerys, and she told him that she need to use the Unreality technique on him. He was not as accepting as Lue, but allowed her to if she would also let him use a genjutsu on herself. Valerys thought about it, but eventually agreed to the deal and began forming the handseals -- testing them on her fingers to make sure that they still felt strong.

As Valerys and Corvus got down to work, she noticed that the handseals for her Unreality technique were much quicker, perhaps even the speed of simply a C-ranked technique by now. Corvus seemed surprised with how quickly her hands had moved, and Valerys prepared herself by sending chakra throughout her entire arms and fingertips -- flooding from her body and rushing across the ground in search of the host. Corvus stood still and eventually it reached him. He must have had a powerful ability in holding off genjutsu, because it did not take him immediately. Corvus was pushing off her technique when Valerys sent as much chakra as she could to overcome his will, and in the end she turned out sucessful. Corvus underwent her technique.

Corvus looked at her, believing that she was his therapist, and wanted to sit down and tell her everything, but she knew that soon Corvus would be using a genjutsu on her as well so she did not let it last long. Valerys released the technique and pulled her chakra back into her hands, immediately putting it back into positions to form the handseals again. Corvus looked at her as she weaved them, just for practice, and looked impressed. "Didn't realize there was someone so talented in this Dojo."

Having finally learned to make Unreality one of her trademark illusions with Corvus' help, Valerys thought that it was about time to move on. Once upon a time she had known a mentor in the Land of Sound who had taught her great taijutsu skills. Valerys thought that it was about time to reunite with him. Packing up her things and remembering all that she had learned, Valerys said a brief good-bye to the other students who she had come to know and headed out from the Senpu Dojo -- assuring them that she would be back to train with them again soon.

As Valerys had entered back into the Land of Wind and was heading in the direction of her dojo, she happened to run into a band of nomads who were wandering the desert. She stopped them, recognizing a beautiful song that they were singing, and invited them to let her join them on their travels. The nomads agreed, some of them hesitantly, but before long she was singing with the rest of them as they made their way through the Land of Wind. She didn't know any of them by name, but could hear the lyrics of their song. They sung about a woman who had once raised three flying serpents from babies into huge monsters, naming them three ancient names: Viserys, Rhalega, and Drokku. In the song, the woman falls in love with a man who learned to ride one of her serpents and they two of them became quite intimate. That is until the man betrayed her, using her own serpent to kill the other two. The song was short, only about three or four verses, but the song hit very hard.

When night was coming upon the desert, the travelers stopped to build camp and Valerys finally had an opportunity to ask them about their song. "That was the Song of Susannah, the Queen of Serpents who was said to have ridden the first Quetzalcoatl into battle," one of the men told her. He was a quiet man who sat close to the campfire and went by the name of Jalen. "We have been traveling for some time seeking the power of the Quetzalcoatl," he told her, "although we've yet to find one, we believe. If you seek to join us, then perhaps you would learn something of the great beast?" But Valerys thought she had already learned quite a bit from the song. Still, she agreed and that night she spent around the campfire with the nomads and waited to hear their secrets about the great flying serpents. Jalen was the first one to talk to her about the beasts, telling her of their birth. He claimed that a bird and a snake had fallen for one another, and had an egg which was hatched by a dragon. Valerys didn't know if she believed this, but it was a nice legend.

After that the man who appeared to be the leader of the group, one called Tittlefeather, told her about the creatures themselves. He explained that they had powerful techniques of transformation, allowing them to often take on the form of humans. Valerys identified with this, thinking about her own shapeshifter capabilities. Tittlefeather also told her that they could grow to be of epic proportions, much larger than any man, and were often born with deadly natural weapons. Many quetzalcoatl were born with a mighty bite and ability to constrict their prey -- which could be deadly to civilians and ninja without much training. Additionally, they were knowledgable beasts and many that he had met were loved to play games and riddles. Tittlefeather informed her that they could use chakra and often did to swiftly end high-leveled combat. Tittlefeather himself had fought several quetzalcoatl and told her that after many years he still didn't know the secret to defeating them in combat. Valerys beamed, suddenly infatuated with this unknown beast.

That night Valerys had dreams about the flying serpents, and imagined that she had found one of their eggs and that the creature had chosen her as its rider. She woke up quite pleased, and began her walk with the nomads once again. On this day the group sung their songs and she saw them make prayers to Quetzalcoatl gods. They told Valerys some of the lore and history of these figures, who Valerys kept in mind in case she ever needed to know about it later. They told her of Rithal, the bird mother, and Tegin, the snake father, who were reverred by most of the flying serpents. There were several other gods as well, too many to remember all at once, and Valerys reflected on their complicated nature of worship. As the group was walking through the desert, discussing these religions, they happened to stumble upon a strange sight -- a large soft crater in the sand.
