After a surprisingly good night of rest, Hamura woke up early the next morning to the sound of a gong being rung in the distance. It was only at a later point that he would come to find out that this was the work of Kuro, who had been tasked with acting as an alarm clock for those residing within the valley of the high priest due to the fact that he never slept. Taking a quick bath in the creek running along the backside of the house, he got dressed and brought his borrowed sword into the courtyard. Though he had expected Sōjōbō to continue his training, instead, it seemed that Taka had returned.
Making a half-assed apology regarding his behavior that he clearly was not serious about, considering how little he cared for humans in general, he said that he would start teaching him how to pull off similar versions of techniques he had already learned, except for using a sheathed blade for it instead of both the scabbard and the sword held in unison. Stating that since the concept remained the same, and seeing as Hamura already was quite formidable with the sword saint style, using a sheathed blade to pull off similar blocks was likely going to be easy for him.
More so, it was also how he said they would be spending the majority of their day if it were up to him, so he'd better just get with the program. Taking turns at striking at one another, they would strike with and parry with a sheathed blade, performing the block itself by capturing the incoming strike between where the two hands, seeing as one was located at the middle of the scabbard and the other was holding the hilt of the blade. Striking rather gently, it seemed that something had changed regarding the behavior of the Kotengu, though Hamura would not go about counting his blessings just yet.
