(Part 4)
Not planning on getting caught before he would have a chance to see whether everything he had done within Sojogatani had actually been worth the time and effort he had pushed into it, he rose from the ground and got into a crouching position. Opening his eyes so as to let his eyes, ears and his nose work together, he put his entire body on high alert as he made his way forward on all fours. While it looked strange and somewhat funny, doing so had been something he had always been capable of for some reason or another. As he did so, he kept his senses on edge for anything that might be moving close to his position, and by close he meant somewhere within a fifty meter area around him.
Since this had been the extent of his abilities earlier, he felt it wise not to push it any further by biting off more than he could chew. Normally that would have been exactly what he had done, but for the time being, he had to consider the fact that he was currently prancing around in what could only be viewed as hostile territory. While he himself had technically done nothing wrong, it seemed highly unlikely that the Tengu would believe him if he told them that one of their own Daitengu had tricked him into eating from their honored dead. Besides, the Tengu were fickle creatures who were prone to violence when dealing with humanity, a species they considered to be inferior to themselves.
In the case of the Daitengu, he had been told that this was seldom the case, even in the rare instances in which a human actually got to meet with one of them, but was still a fact considered to be true. Skulking onward through the rocks, reeds and shrubbery, he made sure to keep himself concealed to the very best of his shinobi capabilities, which was saying something as he had been training himself to become a prominent assassin ever since he had joined the shinobi ranks back in the Hidden Cloud, a feeling that had only strengthened as he moved from that place towards the Hidden Sand. While he had no idea as to what the exact limits were, he knew that the Tengu, aside from having good eyes, possessed an excellent sense of smell.
