There are some guidelines when creating an item. Figure out what item you wish to create. Calculate 1/3 of item's cost. Write a crafting post equal to a Search Creature/Plant post. Limit: Must learn from Skills.
Godric still thought his work looked sloppy, it was uneven, and he felt he was getting no where. His father could see his frustration on his face and said that this was all fixable, simply don't scorch the metal and it will be forgivable practice. So taking the instruction Godric tried to smooth out the steel in one consistent fashion. Making sure the folded metal would be in sync with itself. Back into the forge and out again, more strikes with the hammer. He was finding a certain kind of flair with the hammer as he felt his hand strike down upon the sheet. He could feel how much progress he was making with each strike, he could feel the results before he could see them.
Godric was getting the hang of it and smiled. He could see the metal smoothing out and becoming one consistent thickness. He was almost ready to make another fold of the iron. Another bath in fire before he could mold it further. Another swing of the hammer as he created another fold in the iron. Another twist and turn of the sheet and another fold in the steel. He felt he was making progress much faster this time. With this next fold more powder, to weld it all together. The cold shuts minimal as he placed it in the forge once again.
Godric counted two folds, and his father told him this was four layers. The more layers you make the stronger the structure of the steel, but a warning as he did this should too many fold be produced, the layers would be too thin. So following the warning Godric continued to fold the metal. Twice more, creating a total of sixteen layers, he would look at his father. His father shook his head, and Godric would put the steel into the forge. The metal heating and another fold into the iron. It was almost as if he had recreated the billet with this folding process and with a grand total of thirty-two layers, his father would nod his head. Thus godric cleaned it up and placed it into the forge once again.
