*flashback*
Tomomi awoke in a dingy room that smelled of shit, to be entirely blunt about it. The floor was made of dirt, and adorned by a particularly itchy layer of straw. His head ached mightily as he was jostled by a strike to the side.
"GET UP SLAVE IT'S TIME FOR WORK."
As had become typical as of late, Tomomi was forced to perform laborious tasks. Forging, mixing dangerous herbs, and brewing were what he usually was made to do. Most of his works were probably sold in order to pay for food and other bare necessities. He'd been worked to the bone for the last few months, and his skills grew. Today he was forging a sword of some sort. He didn't particularly like the design of the weapon and found it to be rather unappealing, and probably cumbersome to wield.
Regardless, his hammer banged upon the anvil, shaping the piece of iron into a flatter shape. As the shape squished towards the flat surface, he found himself in need of more malleability, and placed the partially formed mineral back into the forge. As the metal heated back up, he he pulled it out and placed it gently back on the anvil.
Despite the lack of requirement to do such, Tomomi began folding the metal. This was something he'd begin attempting in order to save time and resources recently. As long as he folded the metal a few times before he completed the weapon, he could save several units of the material before his job was completed. This also saved the effort of heating another piece of metal and shaping it in order to put the two pieces together. Soon enough the sword was finished. Although the quality wasn't great, he'd surely get better with time.
