Tomomi was having another dream. The sort of dream where you vividly recall an occurrence in your past. Tomo stood before another stranger. Another fellow who felt that the earlier a Hyuuga begins to learn their fighting style, the more useful they'll be in the future. Essentially these fellows believed they were developing a tool. Tomo's dream-self couldn't help but laugh knowing that they couldn't be more wrong. But in this memory, Tomo was taught how to use an extremely basic technique within the Hyuuga's Taijutsu. A simple thrust of one's palm, accompanied by the expelling of chakra, allows for a not-so-deadly attack.

The man explained himself harshly, allowing for no misunderstanding, and no reiteration. Tomomi was told to attempt to perform the technique once, strictly from the description he was given. Needless to say, he failed utterly. It wasn't reasonable to expect a five year old to master even a basic technique with one try. But Tomo refused to relent. The lad asked for a demonstration of the technique, which he could use to inspire his own efforts. The man sighed quietly, and then showed Tomo exactly what the technique should look like. Unfortunately this was only the exterior portion of the technique, and Tomo couldn't properly envision exactly how the chakra was supposed to be expelled.

The man told tomo to try again though. Tomomi decided to properly envision the chakra pushing out of the center of his palm this time. Before he just sort of pushed his palm forward and hoped something would happen. This time, Tomo pushed his palm out several times, attempting to synchronize the chakra and thrust. It took him a few more attempts, but after about a minute, he got it down. Soon enough, the teacher was looking on in shock, astounded that such a young child could master the technique in such a short time.

Tomo's next efforts were going to be devoted to increasing the strength of his attacks. He'd noticed during his team-building exercises with Harue and that other kid, that he severely lacked the finishing power required for competing against more powerful defenders. Tomo decided that he was going to attempt to make hone his Taijutsu power specifically. He sat in an empty park, focusing on carefully focusing his strength. His intention was to sacrifice the quickness of his abilities for more power.

From a purely physical, medical, and scientific standpoint this makes no sense. But Tomo wasn't especially worried about that. This was going to work, and he refused to give up until it did. Finally when he'd finished gathering his thoughts, Tomo stood up and took his stance. Instead of simply thrusting his palm forward like he always did, he maintained his stance. He focused his physical strength, tensing the muscles in his arm and core repeatedly, attempting to gather more power.

Eventually Tomo gave up. It wasn't working. He couldn't tense the muscles over and over again to compound the results. Obviously that makes no sense, and there's no way it'd ever work. But it'd have to, this was the only way. Again he took his stance. He tensed his muscles, and attempted something different this time. Instead of releasing his muscles, he tried just... tensing them more. It didn't do much, but perhaps after some intense training it'd work.

Tomomi'd gathered plenty of tension in the muscles of his right arm by this point. If this was indeed how an individual went about strengthening their strikes, it would surely succeed. So his palm moved forward. It was a rapid and powerful strike, perhaps more-so than normal. It seemed to push away from his body in slow motion at first. Upon reaching the full extension of his arm, Tomo took a moment to consider just how much more powerful it was. Not very. In fact, it simply felt as if he was just trying harder.

So Tomo reconsidered his efforts momentarily. His muscles seemed to simply work in the way they were designed to. He couldn't defy physics by stacking his muscle tension as he previously thought. His lack of knowledge in anatomy was showing. Not that anybody else cares. Tomomi meditated on the idea for a while. It probably wasn't going to work, but it couldn't hurt to keep trying. If anything, he could chalk the efforts up to some simple muscle training.

So again, Tomo resumed clenching his fist and flexing his arm. As he stood there in stance, he continued to flex his muscles further and further. Eventually his arm began to tremble. His joints seemed to detest this exercise. After a few moments of this, Tomo released the tension while simultaneously pushing his arm out. However, this time he forgot to gather the chakra required for the technique. Fortunately this seemed to have some effect on the strength of the strike, and he felt the air move considerably in front of him.

The sound of Tomo's strikes could be heard echoing throughout the park. This Hyuuga palm thrust wasn't a powerful attack. It was a weak attack meant more to create distance between a user and their opponent. While Tomo seemed to be making considerable progress for strengthening his Taijutsu, he was growing tired much faster as well. His muscles trembled and ached in ways he'd never experienced. Perhaps he was risking injury by performing a technique in a manner in which it wasn't supposed to be used.

But nevertheless, Tomo refused to relent. He'd definitely get this right. This was an abstract concept that may or may not work in the end. So far he'd seen slight results, But simply trying harder probably wasn't the way to go. Perhaps he'd need to come up with a more specific method for improving his Taijutsu. Or otherwise he'd just keep trying what he'd already been doing, and hope that it results in more success.

Tomo once again resumed his stance. His muscles strained mightily under the intense stress he placed upon the fibers. His body trembled intensely, while he flexed, demanding more and more from the strength his body possessed. He continued this way, flexing until he felt his arm may snap loose from the socket. His efforts would surely show results this time.

As Tomo finished forcing his muscles to their limits, he added one aspect of the technique that he forgot about last time. He moulded chakra into the palm of his hand quickly as his brawn wailed in agony. Then finally he struck forward, hoping for a positive outcome. He released all the tension along with the chakra at the same time, simply releasing all of his efforts forward.

As he struck the air, he fell backwards from the reverse momentum. His arm fell limply to his side on the ground. The force from the strike echoed loudly throughout the park. Birds disturbed from their rest in the trees flew away, squacking at the noisy interruption. Children all turned towards the noise, covering their ears as the sound of the strike reverberated.

It was a success! The technique was several times more powerful than it was originally meant to be. Perhaps he'd need to improve his efficiency in order to effectively wield this in combat. Tomo laid on the ground panting while considering how he'd go about refining this ability. Perhaps just by simply getting better at Taijutsu and stronger overall, he'd be able to properly do this.

Tomomi's efforts relented, if only momentarily. He needed a break. He ate some food, drank some water, slept for a bit. This allowed his muscles to recover, but only slightly. He needed to finish this ability before his muscles completely tore. Again he resumed his stance, and repeated the process he went through before. He focused his thoughts forward, this time collecting his chakra before focusing his strength.

Now that he had the chakra accumulated, he could focus entirely on strengthening the strike. His palm radiated with chakra while he began clenching his muscles. Immediately his arm started to ache. He clenched only slightly at first, giving himself some breathing room to accumulate some energy. This would allow him to gather the force he needed to increase the force of his strike.

Tomo continued to flex his arm. He winced as his muscles strained against his efforts. The tension was building considerably, Soon enough he'd be ready to unleash the accumulation of his thoughts and endeavors. He clenched more and more, his bones creaking, tendons threatening to tear free from their homes. Then finally he pushed his arm forward, releasing the hoarding of strength and chakra. It was definitely a success this time. The noise was intense, the wind blew away from his arm. Bystanders squealed in shock. He'd definitely done it this time.

Now that Tomo was at home and finished resting, it was time to continue with his training. This time he planned to train something slightly less physically draining. Tomomi at the moment possesses a technique that he considers to be rather crucial to several types of potential situations. That technique is a soul manipulation technique that allows the user to steel themselves against fear entirely.

If he could somehow enhance that sort of technique so that it becomes permanent, he wouldn't need to worry about casting the technique ever again. He could also use this ability on other techniques that offer similar boosts. Tomomi intended to transform himself into that much more of a formidable fighter by completing this training. So in his room he sat, quickly reaching a meditative state.

On the floor in the middle of his room, his legs crossed. With his eyes closed, he quickly gathered the amount of chakra typically necessary for the soul technique. After a moment, he cast the technique as he normally would. Obviously it was a success, so he dispelled the technique and considered what he thought would bring about the best results. If he used more chakra to perform the technique, wouldn't it last longer?

Tomo gathered the chakra necessary for the technique quickly. This was something he was used to, as he'd already mastered the technique to its regular capacity. Instead of simply casting the technique right away this time, Tomo continued to gather more chakra. After gathering about twice as much chakra, perhaps enough for a B rank, he performed the technique as he normally would. It failed.

In fact, Tomomi almost passed out from the rush of strange energy within him. In fact, it took him this long simply to remember that it wasn't chakra that manipulated his soul, but rather soul energy. Now that he remembered this, he'd definitely be able to manipulate the technique so that it'd permanent. So again he sat in his room, attempting to gather the energy needed for the technique.

Tomo gathered his soul energy quickly, as this was the only technique he knew to manipulate his soul. After a few moments he had more soul energy than what was necessary for the technique. Perhaps enough for a B rank, perhaps slightly less. Then he released the technique, allowing the ability to envelop his form. It was only slightly successful, but not much. He'd definitely have to continue his trials.

Unfortunately the success that Tomomi experienced from the increased energy wasn't much. Minuscule, one might say. Tomo hurriedly returned to an original calm state, and released the technique so he could start again. Through this method, he'd need a considerable amount of soul energy to make it permanent, and even then he wasn't sure it'd work. There's probably a a factor involved in making it permanent. Tomo shook these thoughts aside for later.

Tomo quickly gathered more soul energy than before. He gathered another portion of energy in addition to the soul energy he tried last time. This time it was less than an A rank, but definitely more than a B rank. He felt the strain of his energy as he used what was probably considered a hefty amount of energy. He'd have to figure this out soon, or he'd have to wait to recover before trying again.

As he activated the technique, he felt the fearlessness flow into him. Perhaps more potently than normal. He took a breath and analyzed the results of his efforts. He definitely failed. At least somewhat. It wasn't permanent, he felt the effects draining slightly as he waited. He'd need to figure out what it was that made effects permanent rather than temporary.

Tomomi's efforts and research hadn't produced the results that he wanted. It was an unfortunate outcome, but he couldn't have expected much more. The technique perhaps did last longer, but definitely not permanent. Tomo needed to discover the factor that made abilities permanent rather than temporary. So in his meditative state he sat, considering his options.

Only one option came to mind, actually. There was definitely a specific method for moulding chakra. A method that made that chakra linger forever. The only thought that he could imagine at first was curses. Curses are permanent if they aren't dispelled. Unfortunately Tomo doesn't know anything about curses, so he'd have to think of something else. Perhaps he'd simply attempt it without any understanding, and hope for the best.

Tomo sat, and moulded the soul energy for the technique. This time he'd attempt to add a switch to the energy. It would definitely be permanent. His intention was to add the sort of feelings that a curse would have, and make the effects last forever, rather than only temporary. Soon enough he had the energy necessary for the fearless technique, and he quietly cast it on himself. Did it work?

It definitely... didn't quite work. Although the technique definitely felt different, it was far from successful. Perhaps the negative feelings left an impact on the technique. It felt as though the technique would definitely last much longer than before. Unfortunately for Tomo, 'much longer' isn't good enough. He needed this to last forever, so he dispelled the technique and started back at square one.

This time, Tomo decided to ignore the voice of reason in his head. The voice that continued to repeat 'negative thoughts are bad'. Tomomi's intentions were evil to say the least, and he probably needed to embrace those intentions in order to complete his mastery of this ability. He sat in the middle of the room and began his activation of the soul technique.

Quickly, he gathered the energy, imbuing his soul with the evil thoughts as he did so. It took much longer to gather the energy this time. Perhaps the evil curse techniques consumed much more energy than normal. He definitely felt the drain on his reserves of energy this time. He groaned as he strained in order to maintain the gathering of energy. Finally, he was ready to release the technique, and did so. Would it work this time?
