Through the Rain

For a few moments, Itaru would allow his mind to wander back to the fight with that Rain ninja. That man was relentlessly strong, but Itaru was the one to learn from his mistakes. Now being in the Rain ninja’s country, would they have reason to not show any sort of mercy like before? Itaru shook his head clear and glanced at the two Genin, Edward and Ikiri.
He saw them as something more than what he did before, and he liked the idea of looking out for somebody for once in his life. He wasn’t sure why that was, but he also didn’t care to give a reason. He gave a soft itched the side of his face and soon moved his fingers to the back of his neck, satisfying an irritating sensation before letting his arm drop to his side.
He hoped to reach Rain quickly to be done with this mission, as Itaru wasn’t that fond of traveling. At the very least, Rain wasn’t a far distance from Stone. For some reason, Itaru began thinking of Pandoru and his travel with her. How it was basically nothing but awkward silence and the sound of their feet sweeping against the ground. At least this travel wasn’t so strange feeling like it was with her. It felt like years ago, when it actually wasn’t even a month.
A shrug of his shoulders and Itaru cleared his thoughts and kept his mind on the road before them. Would they come face to face with Rain Shinobi once crossing the boarders? This question was almost tormenting Itaru, but he kept a calm expression, and didn’t let himself get riled up by it. He wouldn’t reveal any sort of fear, though it may be all too real. If he showed anticipation, it would only cause the Genin to feel insecure, surely.
From the expressions he saw on the three last time Itaru was beaten, practically with ease no less, the Chuunin understood they were indeed shocked and may even wanted to piss their pants. That wasn’t a problem in Itaru’s eyes; they were young and inexperienced, but he knew they would become stronger in various ways. Nearing the boarders into Rain, Itaru glanced the peace treaty and placed it within his pouch, now on his guard.
