Dust, wind and scraps hit the Hoshigaki from the clash of both attacks, but what surprised him was that the exploding sounds appeared to be echoes. His natural reaction was to raise his hand in protection from the incoming debris, despite that his aura protected him from it. When the dust finally had settled enough to allow him to see through, he noticed that the craters that were the results of the attack were almost identical. It chocked him more than he had expected, his friend had after all been surprised when the tree had been crushed. It annoyed him slightly, but the fact also increased his respect for his friend, they weren't far apart in power after all.

You insult me with deception, the damage inflicted on the ground is at least 5 times what is needed to crush that tree.

He made sure to not sound agitated however, as he really wasn't angry. But he had thought that his friends Lady and Zuruel would be a beacon of trust in the darkness of lies and corruption, which had him feel slightly hurt. There were however no time to relax as they were still having their friendly spar, so he decided to get more creative. Emi then dove backward into the ground and vanished without leaving even the slightest sign of what had happened. As the crater had left quite an impact on him, Emi made sure dive deep withing the earth while constantly detecting any changes in vibrations on the surface. Since he knew where Zuruel had been, he had a clear focus towards that destination to sort out any distracting ones.

To give his friend enough time to make his own transformation, Emi swam around in circles and focused inwards. His body had changed in so many ways that his mind wasn't quite in par with his actions, making every stroke with his tail to push through the ground feel like a dream. He did however hope that he would be able to grow accustomed to it in time, because despite that rarely needed to use it, he wanted it to be his permanent form in the end. So after a few seconds he stopped and tried out every single muscle in his body, strained them before relaxing and then finally combining them into a movement. The new form had so much more prominent muscles and some that he normally didn't even notice, making him wonder if it was only because he didn't use them or if the new ones had been added to his divine form. As he searched within, he was also able to feel that he had a much stronger connection to his physical energies, but for some reason it appeared to be somewhat mixed with his mental chakra.

Now out in the open, Zuruel raised an eyebrow at Emi’s words. “Ah, you wound me Emi.” Zuruel paused to take a step back, which would draw attention to bits of cloth and pale white flesh falling off the foot used to trigger his attack. In place of any blood or signs of wounding, there was simply a shadowy pitch-black foot that oozed blurred darkness. “I didn’t deceive you at all. Just because I can apply this much force using my body, doesn’t mean I can do the same with ranged weaponry. The force applied always seems to exponentially dissipate every centimetre the projectile travels.”

Feigning playful hurt, Zuruel grinned while shrugging dramatically. “Oh, how you tarnish my honour Emi. Just because you’ve been so naughty, I won’t show you my true form now unless you go all out.” Having been so distracted with his speech, Zuruel seemed to have completely lost sight of Emi. With any other foe, the instinct would be to glance around the area. Perhaps even, guard his rear. However, Emi had displayed mastery over Earth techniques several times in the past. That meant, the giant shark could only be in one place.

Burning more of his Spring Time of Youth pool, Zuruel felt a searing surge of energy well up inside of his body, which he directed towards his ears. Already Bard-enhanced, Zuruel’s sense of hearing intensified to the point where he could likely track Emi’s movements underground. At least, he could if a new voice didn’t distract him. “You picked an amazing time to introduce yourself white-eyes.” The Kedoin snickered as the strange physical energy heightened his senses. “You caught us in the middle of a spar. I suggest you either join in, or take several steps back.”

"You picked an amazing time to introduce yourself white-eyes. I suggest you either join in, or take several steps back" told the guy. "Pleased to meet you. I think I'll protect the area to keep you safe" replied the male. His voice and smile were polite.

Both of his pale purple eyes scanned the area. 'Well, what do you know. Looks like they found me' observed Minoru. Both of the jaguars seemed to be smelling the ground. The young man decided to turn their senses against them.

'I need to make the jutsu stronger. All that fighting from those two is bound to break the genjutsu. Especially since animal brains operate differently than ours' recalled the male. He started to mold his chakra as the felines approached them. The Chuunin decided to move a bit further away from the duo.

There was 35 meters between him and the fighting duo. 'Looks like the jaguars are 60 meters away. Time to put them in a trance' decided the young man. He took a deep breath as he did the handseals. Minoru decided to strengthen the components part of his chakra.

'I need to make my genjutsu strong at all angles. Jaguars can see better, so they'll discover it easier. The positive is that visuals affect them stronger' thought the male. He performed the last handseal a second later. It was time to release the jutsu.

The next step was to find a good area to place the jutsu. The Chuunin decided to place the felines in the center of the jutsu. Black eyebrows knitted in concentration as the genjutsu was put in place. He looked at the two jaguars. What kind of reaction could he expect from them?

Description: An eye jutsu for the Hyūga clan. When activating the user's eyes dilate in the same white colour as veins bulge out of the corner of the eyes. The user can activate this technique as a “C” Rank technique taking up hand seals. The user is able to see through and thus ignore lighter forms of concealment, such as smoke or mist. The user may concentrate for an amount of hand seals equal to a “C” Rank technique while their byakugan is active to gain the see chakra and see through chakra effects for as long as the user concentrates and their byakugan remains active. Deactivating this ability takes up no movements. When the user learns this technique the first two times, they train it as a regular “C” Rank jutsu. When the user learns this technique the second two times, they train it as a “C” Rank jutsu +10 training points. When the user learns this technique the last time, they train it as a “C” Rank jutsu +20 training points.

Effect: The user is able to see much further than normal and access an X-Ray ability.
Special: ---
Drawback: Must have the byakugan active. May learn up to ∞ times.
Description: When concentrating to see through chakra, the character can also spend time equal to hand seals to gain the ability to see through objects with X-ray like vision up to 10 meters from the user. This does not impede the user's line of sight and the distance a user can normally see, however they simply will not be able to use the X-ray ability beyond 10 meters. When the user first learns this technique, the user trains it as a regular “C” Rank jutsu. Each additional training allows the user to use the X-Ray ability for an additional 10 meters. For every 50 meters, the user trains an additional + 10 training points added to their previous training. The user also suffers a penalty to observation checks every 15 meters instead of every 3 meters. If user loses an eye (has 1 eye) telescopic eye is reduced by 50%. Future learning also reduces distance by 50%.
Limit: Must be in the Hyūga clan. Must know byakugan.


Shunshin no jutsu - oshi (Body flicker technique - push). [2/14]
Rank: “C” Rank.
Skill: Ninjutsu/taijutsu.
Effect: A jutsu that allows a user to rush forward in almost instantaneous speed. Used to draw the user close to the opponent.
Special: ---
Drawback: May use 3 times a day. May perform 1 more each time learned. Passing amount renders the user's legs immobile due to severe pain. Unable to perform again unless gained medical treatment. Must move through an opening. Unable to maneuver around obstructing objects. Can't attack while performing any shunshin or variation.
Description: User is able to move forward in a straight line along the ground in almost instantaneous untraceable speed while temporarily masking the user's movements within 10 meters. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by focusing the user's chi along the ankles and foot. User mostly moves just with their ankles and feet. Jutsu takes up no movements. User may only use this jutsu half of the movements may allow in a single round while rounding down. Example: User has 5 movements, user is able to perform jutsu 2 times per round.
Limit: Universal ninjutsu or universal taijutsu.


Inkaten - Flash point.

Effect: A powerful variation that allows the user to shunshin no jutsu up into the air, or down back to the ground.

Drawback: Takes away the number of usages shunshin no jutsu - oshi (body flicker technique - push). Same distance applications apply. Same drawbacks apply when over using.
Description: An advanced shunshin no jutsu technique that allows the user to shunshin up, or down to the ground. A blur is created being pushed upwards or downwards indicating that the user has either gone up or down. User may only perform once in mid air before having to touch something solid.
Limit: Must be taught by a master of buredono kenseijin. Must know the 5 shunshin no jutsu (body flicker technique).

Effect: A glowing, rainbow-hued pattern of interweaving colours fascinates those within it.
Special: “Handseals”.

Description: A mind-affecting technique. Affects anyone within 10 meters radius spread. The user is able to perform this technique at a distance of 30 meters plus 15 meters per class level. The duration of this technique lasts for 5 rounds per class level. This technique may be negated. Creatures with the lowest class level to the user affected first. Among creatures those who are closest to the jutsu's point of origin are affected first. An affected creature that fails the save is fascinated by the pattern. With a simple gesture (without taking a movement), the user can make the rainbow pattern move up to 10 meters per round (moving its effective point of origin). All fascinated creatures follow the moving rainbow of light, trying to get or remain within the effect. Fascinated creatures who are restrained and removed from the pattern still try to follow it. If the pattern leads its subjects into a dangerous area (through flame, off a cliff, or the like), each fascinated creature gets a second save. If the view of the lights is completely blocked (by an obscuring mist jutsu, for instance), creatures who can't see them are no longer affected. The jutsu does not affect sightless creatures.

As Emi had been too fast into diving, he had been unable to hear what his friend had said in defense of his earlier statement. The calmness around him was soothing and as there were little to no vibrations coming, he believed that Zuruel had been busy with his shifting of form. The Hoshigaki's body did however demand more action, his bloodlust rose and the spark within fueled his chakra with more potent properties. It was intriguing and he wondered why he had never noticed that before, but as he tried to figure out how it worked he immediately connected it to his form. Had his celestial form the ability to unlock more powers than his normal could? or was it simply that it was more prominent than usually. In curiosity he tried to manipulate the energies within him and noticed that the spark had a similar sensation as when his gates had been opened.

That's when he had began to wonder if the power of the gates were really something hidden within him at all times, that could be manipulated without the need to overexert his flesh. It felt strange as the connection had always been there, but as he thought about it, there were no reason why powers would just suddenly appear. So he tried once again to have it touch with his chakra and felt how it all got so much more potent. "I need to try it out" He thought and set his body in position underneath his friend, slowly and quietly (Stealth 406). It was approximately 15 meters up to the surface from where he was when he started to rapidly ascend. His tail moved swiftly to boost up the speed he was moving in, making him reach almost the same velocity as during a full sprint.

While getting closer and closer, Emi activated his inner eye to know even better where his friend was, allowing for him to shift in angle if Zuruel was to move. When he finally broke the surface it was with a gaping maw with massive teeth colored in a faint green color. His mouth was large enough to eat the kedoin up in one bite, but he considered what his friend had said earlier and bit down whenever he had reached approximately half his body. He used a fierce amount of force to slam his jaws shut in an attempt to show why sharks were the top predators in their environment. (730 damage) As he popped up on the surface and shot up in the air, he made sure to raise his arms if there were any possible attack to surprise him from the sides.

2. “Keep us safe? Sure, but it’s your safety I’m worried about. Especially when Emi pops back up.” Upon giving the warning to the Hyuuga, Zuruel focused his attention back down onto the ground. By now, the youthful energy he was burning had already smouldered out and given up all the potency that it possibly could. Sighing, Zuruel reached deep inside of himself and attempted to find more of the spiritual energy.

Upon gathering together a smidgen, Zuruel allowed his body to begin burning away the Spring Time of Youth energy in order to enhance his senses and technique once more. As always, the time began ticking away rapidly. He had to be quick to make use of the potent yet quickly diminishing effects of the spiritual energy which travelled along the Kedoin’s arms and into his palms.

Swiftly, Zuruel’s fingers blurred as they weaved together a set of seals to prep a technique. He was now ready. He just needed to find Emi… “S-Shit!” Before an attempt could be made to locate the opponent, gruesome jaws burst out the earth and swallowed Zuruel’s lower half with terrible crunching force. Other than a groan, Emi would first hear the shattering of glass as Lady’s transparent layer of crystal shattered into dust under the immense force. Shocked that his companion’s dense defensive technique hadn’t stopped the attack, the Kedoin could only brace himself as the crushing force of the maw bore down on unnaturally hard Umbrite in place of muscle and flesh [235 AP remaining]. Underneath Zuruel’s pale “skin”, there seemed to be a suit of shadowy armour protecting him. “Gotcha.” While Emi would still be applying force from the bite, Zuruel unleashed a bombardment of frost-enhanced Chakra in all directions, including directly into Emi’s mouth [x3 240 AP Ice damage, x3 Fortitude Save: 26 or Frozen]. If successful, this technique would freeze everything within a 150m radius of the Kedoin and unleash a blizzard, while transforming the ground 120m down into permafrost – hopefully locking Emi in place and preventing him from moving a inch of his body to utilise for Taijutsu or Earth techniques.

During his ascension Emi wondered why Zuruel had still not been moving a single step since he had disappeared into the ground. He hoped that it was due to the transformation, but without any chakra increases he felt doubtful. The bite successfully went as intended, except that his mouth came to a swift stop and small shards fell down into his throat. The resistance in the body was something he had expected, but not the complete end off the bite. The Hoshigaki was barely able to act as he finally caught a glimpse of what Zuruel had been doing, a technique had been ended and Emi could only think of one thing "Oh shit". It took a lot of guts and strength to withstand such an attack and immediately counter with ones own, but that only meant that Emi had underestimated his opponent.

Before any visual signs were revealed Emi could feel how his entire skin began to itch and his entire core shivered. Then as a breath escaped him and turned into a visible cloud it was too late, the area almost instantly turned into a frozen tundra and Emi got covered in ice. It was the most intense cold that he had ever experience and at first he couldn't even feel any parts of his body. Ecstasy spread into his brain as the pain surfaced and filled his entire soul with purpose. His eyes shone even stronger of intensity and Emi almost felt like he'd burst of all the powers that suddenly began to surge within him. The ice was shattered in a 37 meter radius without him moving a single muscle, allowing him to easily get up to the surface of the freed ground. He then took another bite, which was at the same type of intensity (730) while not using the same struggle to produce. As Zuruel was already stuck in his maws, he doubted that he'd be able to avoid the second bite.

That seriously hurt... impressive

He mumbled as he kept a steady gaze at Zuruel while his divine aura came back after vanishing from the frost attack. The cold really bothered him and he got worried for the others that had been in the area. So he turned back to his normal form and said:

impressive, but dangerous. I think we need to pause here.

The Hoshigaki said and created a pillar of earth to shoot him away from where Zuruel was and launched himself away from it with a long jump before running off to see how the others were doing. He remembered where the table with the kazekage had been, so his first point was to head there. While running Emi kept rubbing his body to get some life back into his flesh which was still numb. His chakra sight scanned the area and when he finally got back to the table, he stopped and carefully searched around.

User can no longer benefit from divine healing or Chakra healing, including being raised or resurrected. User's hubris extends to their interactions with other mortals, especially those they consider beneath them. The user suffers a -25 penalty on all Perception and Charisma based skills used against any creature or character whose Class Point is more than 2 lower than the user's own.
Description: With one successful experiment, the user has done what all the gods failed to do: the user has fixed the flaws inherent in the humanoid form. The user has conquered death and laugh at mortality. The user has remade their flawed, mortal body into a perfect alchemical creation, which resembles a much healthier and more attractive version of their birth body. The user receives a +2 inherent bonus to both their Might and Charisma. In addition, the user gains several immunities normally reserved for constructs and the undead, though the user's own type and subtype do not change. The user becomes immune to ability drain, fear effects, death effects, effects that cause the sickened or nauseated conditions and energy drain. The user no longer suffers penalties for aging and has no maximum age, nor do they need to breathe. Finally, the user recovers from Armour Points and Ability Category damage at double the normal rate.

“You’re going to do it aren’t you… You’re going to make me go all out.” Zuruel snickered upon noticing the frost aura releasing from his body not having clung to Emi's blue body. Despite being cold-blooded, he had failed to seal away his ally in a block of ice. This could only mean one thing was to come. The jaws of the beast. Grinning, Zuruel’s Chakra began to flare as he glanced down at teeth ready to crash into him. Strangely, upon triggering his Chakra, his inner spirit and soul also seemed to flare in unison.

A second later, Zuruel’s prediction came true as the shadowy black metal of his armour became limp and lifeless within Emi’s maw the moment the crunch left a harsh metallic clang echoing in the air. Emi had likely thought that he had won at that point. However, if he had noticed the yellow flash up ahead, then he’d spot the Kedoin floating 2 meters above his suit of shadow armour. He had attuned himself to the Hiraishin seal on the back of the armours neck and teleported above it to dodge Emi’s clamping strike.

“Yes… All out. All this excitement. This danger. I haven’t had this much fun in years!” Zuruel’s hands blurred as he weaved together seals while black inky blotches began to bleed from his cursed seal. “All out!” He screamed as his brains drowned in euphoria. However, strangely, Emi was no longer below. “W-Wait! Emi!” Face planting, the Kedoin’s pale body crashed into the icy ground below and left a indention of his sprawled outline against the ground. Not wasting any time, he began pitifully crawling towards Emi, before picking himself off the cold floor and breaking out into a sprint to catch up with his companion. “Emiii! Please! We- I, was so close! Emiiiiii!”

He rolled his eyes a little, yet made sure he stayed away from Emi. Minoru turned his attention back to the two felines. Both of them were trapped in the middle of the genjutsu now. The duo were turning their heads slightly to the left. It was time to continue the illusion.

'Looks like I got their attention. Time for the next part of my jutsu' thought the young man. He let out a sharp exhale as he started to work on his illusion. The Chuunin started to program the colours in the rainbow pattern. There were seven of them, but there was another issue.

'I have no idea what kind of colours a cat can see. I know they can see red, so I better make that vivid. Same with blue' recalled the male. He knitted his brows while he enhanced the two colours. The byakugan made it a little harder to see the animals' facial expression.

Fortunately, both of them were still standing still. 'Looks like they can see the colour. Maybe I should start on the yellow and green. They need a bit more attention since they're a bit similar' thought the black-haired guy. He inhaled some air while he edited the colours.

His mind started to blend together the different colours. The young man decided to make a half-circle around the duo. Said half circle would face the opposite direction of the fighting pair. This would make it harder to break out of the genjutsu. 'Fingers crossed that this works out' thought Minoru.

The duration of this technique lasts for 5 rounds per class level. This technique may be negated. Creatures with the lowest class level to the user affected first. Among creatures those who are closest to the jutsu's point of origin are affected first. An affected creature that fails the save is fascinated by the pattern. With a simple gesture (without taking a movement), the user can make the rainbow pattern move up to 10 meters per round (moving its effective point of origin). All fascinated creatures follow the moving rainbow of light, trying to get or remain within the effect. Fascinated creatures who are restrained and removed from the pattern still try to follow it. If the pattern leads its subjects into a dangerous area (through flame, off a cliff, or the like), each fascinated creature gets a second save. If the view of the lights is completely blocked (by an obscuring mist jutsu, for instance), creatures who can't see them are no longer affected. The jutsu does not affect sightless creatures.

The two that had been fighting in the air as Emi got to the area and the kazekage seemed to have gone away while the one to sneak around and played with the cats was okay. Emi breathed out in relief, he really dudnt want innocent bystanders to due from a simple sparring match, and that tundra attqck could easily have wiped a lot of people out. The fact that Zuruel had used it so recklessly had him wonder if they would be able to even continue. But as he couldnt find any more life than the stalker with cats, he figured it would be fine as long as that person stayed far back. The muscles in his body had started to warm up again, but the color of his skin had turned into a strange white hue due to a thin layer of frost still covering him. He shook a little more and blew hot air on hos cold hands before turning to the stalker.

If your life is dear to you, dont play with the cats too close to our battle, Zuruel is not big on control.

Emi shouted before sneaking im behind a tree and vanishing into the shadows. (406 stealth) when Zuruel had been able to get within 20 meters of the Hoshigaki, Emi moved over to a tree with better view of the area before launching 2 sets of throws with 2 senbons in each. (Non lethal 2 x 2 x 410(745 on first 2 if sneak attack succeeds)) As the projectiles neared their mark, Emi rapidly performed a series of seals and then send down some chakra into the ground to have one stone arm to raise up and attempt to grab Zuruel, but then also a chain that attempted to wrap itself around the man. Everything went so fast that Emi hoped that he actually would be able to catch his friend off-guard, something that wasnt really that common.

When the techniques were done, Emi moved back into the shadows and searched his body for what was so uncomfortable. It proved to be a few ice shards that had broken off from his moving bodyparts and scratched against his skin. It had agitated the body and several red areas could be found as evidence of those shards. As he calmed down slightly and conaidered his wounds he realized that he had just swallowed a larfe amount of umbrite shards. So he gathered some water from the surrounding air and drank it before trying to cough the shards up. But they had gone far to deep into his system, making him worry about coming days with his toilet breaks, it couldnt be comfortable to pass such things.

Zuruel locked onto Emi’s voice and grinned. His blue friend was still in the area, just drastically reduced in size. Why would he flee though? For what purpose? Especially in such an advantageous position? The thought boiled Zuruel’s Chakra. Not just his Chakra, but his inner spirit and soul energy. All of it boiled, mixed, twisted and combined into… Something different and new.

“What the hell?”

Zuruel blinked as he glanced down at his pale hands. Outwardly, he seemed fine. However, internally, his body seemed to be going through some sort of weird change far beyond his Kedoin control. Was this the work of the eternal potion he had created earlier? Was the intensity of the battle finally triggering the powers of the cellular catalyst? Either way, the Kedoin knew he needed to continue this battle in order to reach his full potential.

“Senbon, loud as day.” Even in this strange state, nothing could escape his Bard hearing. Although he couldn’t quite pinpoint the moment the projectiles had left Emi’s hands, he could hear them whizzing through the air. Leaping backwards a meter, Zuruel positioned himself to dodge the incoming senbon. Unfortunately, having been so focused on the senbon and the attempt at using their trajectory to locate Emi, Zuruel left himself completely off guard.

Utilising his speed and heightened reflexes, there would be just enough time to slam his knee into the rising earth creation in a flurry of three blurred strikes. Annihilated, the earthen hand would reduce to dust before it could grab hold. “D-Damn.” Cursed Zuruel as cold chains wrapped around and bound him. Left in a cocoon of metal, the Kedoin began forming large maws along his torso and arms in an attempt at biting through the chains from underneath their cold metallic grasp [100 AP damage per bite].

The senbons had been surprisingly ineffective and were not even close to hit their mark, despite that Emi believed that his opponent had not seen him launch them. But as the earthen jutsus managed to grapple the kedoin, the situation still was at his advantage. So Emi stopped his coughing after retrieving two long and black pieces from his throat and dove once again into the ground. Even though they had moved away from the ice, the ground was still feeling a lot more chilly than it usually was, making him wonder how deep Zuruel had really penetrated. But regardless of the normal ways that he acted while swimming in the earth, he knew that he needed to attack fast. So the Hoshigaki immediately swam to Zuruel and tried to pull him down while struggling to get loose from the restraints.

Gotcha

Emi exclaimed as he felt how he grabbed something hard and pulled with such force to swap their places, to bury his friend in the ground with only his head sticking up. When he landed with his feet on the ground, he felt how his insides began to cramp before a warm sensation spread itself in his stomach. As he couldn't feel any taste of blood, Emi hoped that it meant that nothing had burst or been to severely cut, but as he had not experience with it, he didn't know. His hand was put on his belly as a natural reaction to the sensation, but Emi's eyes fixed themselves upon Zuruel. Since he had learned that Zuruel had responses to pretty much any scenario that Emi seemed to be able to come up with, Emi decided that he couldn't give him any room. So if he managed to get his friend into the ground, he knelt down where the shoulder was meant to be and placed his hand on his friends head and absorbed his chakra.

You're truly unstoppable

The frustration was real, but his joy of fighting and calm demeanor made it getting drowned by all the other feelings. As he knelt down, he felt another surge of pieces of metal being forced to get out from his body, which had him instantly cough. To not stop the connection he had with Zuruel, he leaned away and coughed into his right arm while having his weight pressed down on his friend. It stung him in the throat as the pieces came up and the size of them made him groan. A chunk of blood had followed along with the pieces, and he noticed that there were something bad going on within him. That's when he noticed that the pieces were not even the umbrite that he had previously seen, but something much sharper and smaller.

What did you even have in your body ?

He asked before wiping off some blood pouring down from his mouth.

Emi had indeed grabbed hold of something. However, much to his dismay, he had grabbed nothing more than his clumped-up chains. “A new trick. The Chunin exams gave me inspiration for this one. By the way, did you watch the prior exams? I wonder if you saw through my disguise and recognised me.” The voice came from 20 meters away. Somehow, Zuruel had teleported away from his original location despite there being no signs of any Hiraishin markings at his new location. Grinning, he took the moment to savour the storm of energy building up within his body as the more literal snowstorm continued to bombard the area.

“Unstoppable? Far from it. Everyone has a weakness. Mine is just well-hidden.” Zuruel’s Chakra reserves were already enormous and difficult to contain. However, mixed with soul energy and the supernatural force behind his spirit, the new resulting mixture seemed practically impossible to restrain. Normally, he’d be panicking at the thought of his cells exploding from the inside out. However, the storm within his core seemed far from malevolent. If anything, it didn’t seem to be damaging him at all.

By the time Emi had registered what was going on, Zuruel would have already utilised the powerful force welling up inside him to cast a Jutsu without the need for a single seal. At that moment, frost along the ground and the ambient moisture in the air bended to the Kedoin’s will to raise a dense forest of ice trees within a 520 meter radius of his body. Balanced perfectly, Zuruel attempted to shoot up 5 meters into the air at that moment by spawning a tree directly below him, which he remained attached to even once it reached full height by coating his hands and feet in a layer of sticky Chakra. Emi had been relying on his advantage of having complete control over the ground for far too long. It was time to take this to the sky.

"What the hell?" muttered Zuruel. The young man could not see anything different going on. He turned his attention back to the felines. Thankfully, they were still in a trance. It was time to turn up the strength of his jutsu.

'Remember that rainbow of yours. It needs to draw them away from Zuruel and Emi. Especially since they're quite...fierce' observed the Chuunin. He took a deep breath as he tried to expand the rainbow. This jutsu had a decent range compared to other genjutsus.

'Maybe I should make the rainbow move a little bit? That could work if it does not move too fast. That will make it look fake. Especially for someone with good vision' thought the young man. His byakugan looked at the environment to find the best location.

The black-haired guy knitted his brows as he started to move the rainbow pattern. Both of the jaguars started to move their heads to the left. It was the exact direction the rainbow was going. 'My chakra seems strong enough. Time to amp up the flexibility' decided the young man.

He pumped some more chakra into the rainbow pattern. Next, Minoru tried to spread out the chakra to the left. The male smiled when the jaguars started to move. 'I think it's time for the final step' decided the Chuunin. He walked 15 meters to the left, distancing himself from the duo.

Aa Emi came up from the ground and spun around to start draining Zuruels chakra, he saw that the thing barely sticking out wasnt his friends body, but the chain. As there nothing that had replaced the man and he had just removed himself from the spot, he suspected that it had been hiraishin rather than kawarimi, but it was still easy to find him. Emi did however not have time for much more as frozen trees suddenly burst up from the ground in a very unatural manner. One of them spawned underneath him, which forced himself to sidestep to avoid getting impaled. When Emi however saw that Zuruel was riding them upwards, Emi grabbed on to the tree and followed it up towards that sky.

My village has been under political chaos the past years, so no, i havent had the luxury to use my time on those things.

It was however something that he had wanted to go and look at as it was a nice way to scout out talents or just have a fun time. The idea just had him hate the council even more, they had robbed him off so much time he couldve used so much better. To even have missed his friends exam, that was seriously not good. But Emi mostly began to wonder what the kedoin had figured out during his trials. However, the displeasure of having meral debris in his stomach still had him wonder if he really wanted to know what he had underestimated.

So instead Emi picked out another two chunks of metal from his mouth and tossed it on the ground. Despite that he had been able to get up quite a lot of it at that point, he still felt that he barely was half way there. That had him consider if it was really worth keeping up the fight or just reveal that he needed to have a few minutes break to puke up the rest of the pieces. But in the meantime he decided to leap in between the trees towards Zuruel, which he did almost unhindered from normal movements. But as he landed on the tree 10 meters away and was about to jump off again, he instead appeared right behind Zuruel with a sealless teleportation. He then exploited the energy he was about to jump off with to tackle and grab on to his friend. When his arms sealed themselves around Zuruel he instantly bit down towards his shoulder with enough force to bite it off. (450 lethal)
