Daichi packed her backpack filled with everything you could possibly need for travel. She had Ryo that had previously belonged to Okasan, fresh clothes, a tent, a blanket and she even had a small section in her back pack where she held some food as well. After training she packed immediately but took the time to speak to Okasan’s body before departing. She yelled at the woman for smelling bad and cursed at her but the woman never replied so she left her there. In the same spot where she had died, never to see the woman’s face again.
She was on the road, walking slowly away from the village of grass and upwards into the forests where she would find the Waterfall country if she walked far enough. It was still early in the day If she walked fast enough she could make it to the country by nightfall, even at her pace which she knew she would speed up soon enough. She found no reason to now. As she walked she took advantage of the fresh clean air. It was a difference from the air she smelled when she woke up that morning. The air in Okasan’s house was thick with death and suffocating but here breathing this air she felt like she had a sense of clarity, she felt like she had a better perception on life although nothing had changed at all but where she was. Everything looked the same, the tree’s passed by as she walked but she left like she was going nowhere. ‘How do I know when I get there?’ She wondered But it didn’t matter she had done this before, wondered around the wilderness aimlessly not knowing where she was going at all this time though she felt like she had at least an idea. She wanted to find the waterfall village, so that she may cover their rivers with blood. No image would be more exciting for her to see other than a huge red waterfall…
As she walked she felt her stomach rumble. She hadn’t noticed that the feeling of hunger came upon her, nor did she care. She just continued to walk the seeming never ending distance. The sky went from a light blue to a slightly darker shade. She smiled; she loved dark nights in the forest. Most girls her age would be afraid to walk alone in the forest like this… there is no telling who or what was is out there when darkness falls. But that reason alone was the reason she enjoyed these nights.
Daichi continued walking it seemed to be hours since she started traveling and it probably was, the sun was already dim in the sky. This meant that she would have to set up camp soon. As she was building the fire she wished that she was one of those ninjas that could just spit fire out from their mouths. She closed her eyes and imaged it, then told herself that she would be better. What can a simple fireball do when someone has a bone as hard as steel to your throat? She could be as strong as anyone else…Ninja or not. After making the fire and having a small meal she curled into her tent, not bothering to turn off the camp fire she had started and woke up in the morning with the sun shining into the flap of fabric that was being blown by the wind.
After packing up again she continued to make her way through the forest, soon the terrain began to change. The air smelled different, less grassy and mistier in a way. She could tell that there was moister in this air. This she believed was a sign that she was either in the waterfall country or close to it so she continued walking as she noticed that her surroundings began to change too. There was less trees in the area and soon she approached a long, wide river…
