Reworked Kamyuja Chaos Eye

So Kamyuja is kinda trash. Why? Because it’s dojutsu is 90% flavour posting that does jack shit in actual combat. It’s horribly outdated and simply does not work well with the current site mechanics that place a much higher emphasis in real numbers. Basically it’s dojutsu is all bark and no bite. Though Kamyuja’s actual techs are pretty good and I have no problem with them. This is just a quick revamp for the dojutsu I believe is near unusable on contemporary nfrp.
I know Usiel is working on a lot of shit which is why I’ve thrown this quick hotfix up in the suggestions board. Even if he does not wish to implement it, I’d be happy if it could serve as a guideline for what could be implemented in the future whenever he has the time. If no fix for Kamyuja ever will made, then it might as well be removed because it’s an outdated eyesore of days gone. Better BLs have been removed recently so why not?
Chaos Eye First Stage
C-rank
-User automatically gains wield oversized weapon
User gains:
+4 Might bonus
+2 Toughness bonus
-4 Agility penalty
+2 to break check difficulty for any grapple manoeuvres the user performs. This becomes +10 to the difficultly of escape artist checks against the users grapples.
User can carry objects up to x5 their bodyweight.
User can use Chaos Eye for 5 rounds per class level.
Chaos Eye Second Stage
B-rank
-User can wield oversized weapons with one hand
+6 Might bonus
+4 Toughness bonus
-2 Agility bonus
+4 to break check difficulty for any grapple manoeuvres the user performs.
This becomes +20 to if the opponent is making an escape artist check
+TaiJutsu attacks bypass an additional 10 damage reduction.
User can carry objects up to x10 their bodyweight
User can throw these objects with a base range increment of 10m
User can use Chaos Eye for 5 rounds per class level.
Chaos Eye Third Stage
A-rank
-User can wield oversized weapons with one hand
+10 Might bonus.
+4 Toughness bonus.
+6 to break check difficulty for any grapple manoeuvres the user performs.
This becomes +40 to if the opponent is making an escape artist check.
+TaiJutsu attacks bypass an additional 10 damage reduction and hardness.
User can carry objects up to x20 their bodyweight
User can throw these objects with a range increment of 10m
User can use Chaos Eye for 5 rounds per class level.
Chaos Eye 4th Stage
S-rank
-User can wield oversized weapons with one hand
+16 Might bonus
+4 Toughness bonus
+10 to break check difficulty for any grapple. This becomes +80 to the difficultly of escape artist checks against the users grapples.
+TaiJutsu attacks bypass an additional 20 hardness and damage reduction.
User can carry objects up to x40 their bodyweight
User can throw these objects with a base range increment of 10m
User can use Chaos Eye for 5 rounds per class level.
Almost forgot to talk about the dojutsu’s vision mechanics. Taken from the original:
The significance of the color shows a hidden life wishes to explode out as the outer area of the colored eye gleams in a darker shade of purple, this causes the user to see in black n’ white as if they are colored blind. But instead of this being a disadvantage towards them they are able to see ones aura of chakra that emanates from there body.
This really needs to be elaborated more. Can they see these auras through objects and nullify concealment and stealth bonuses like the Byakugan or Tasukeru? Or does it work more like the sharingan? Taken from the Uchiha tree:
The user can concentrate for a move-movement to gain the ability to "See Chakra" for as long as the user concentrates, plus 5 rounds.
See Chakra: User can see chakra being used, chakra auras and lingering chakra. It allows the user to attempt to identify the effect of lingering chakra (use Chakra Lore Skills).
User can make an Observation skill check to detect GenJutsu techniques or see Chakra Activity. User can focus their sight to examine a creature or object to detect traces of lingering chakra with an Observation check. Traces are the result of an active effect placed on the target from a technique or ability needing Chakra. Success allows the user to make a second check to identify the effect to get a rough idea of the source, but requires a clear line of sight to the target. Check difficulty depends on the Source Strength.
* "D" and "C" Rank/Class, Faint strength, Very Difficult Difficulty.
* "B" Rank/Class, Moderate strength, Difficult Difficulty.
* "A" Rank/Class, Strong strength, Average Difficulty.
* "S" Rank/Class, Overwhelming strength, Easy Difficulty.
A User can see a creature's Class Level and can determine the strength of the chakra signature, but does not gain a bonus to Observation checks to detect a creature regardless of the strength of its chakra aura. Each Chakra signature has an individual color to it, but it is typically not plausible for the user to remember each one. This ability depends on sight and does not function when blinded.
Either chakra-sight abilities would be cool. I just insist that Chaos has a vision ability along with super-strength else I’d be hard-pressed to call it a dojutsu.
So everything I’ve stated above certainly might make the dojutsu seem somewhat overpowered now. However there are already a lot of restrictions on the BL itself such as not being able to use gates that balances it. Regardless, here are a few possible nerfs/limits that could make things more balanced.
-Impact-L bonuses become enchantment bonuses so they do not stack with enchantment bonuses from other sources (gear, genjutsu etc.)
-User can only learn a Chaos eye up to their current class level.
-User must have the Jotunn ancestry trait to be Kamyuja
And that’s it. You now have a powerful yet balanced BL that just... works. Feedback and criticism welcome.
