Time seemed to slip by at an obnoxiously slow pace as he was guided to the village, not until they came to a halt did he even bother to pay much attention to the presence of his guide. Her reaction to their arrival was not exactly what he had been expecting, quite the opposite in fact. With his vision still suffocated by the dark blindfold, his ears were met by an ear splitting scream from Emiko; it was not a scream of fear or pain, but of desperation. The Masamune eased his hand from hers and made use of it to remove the blind fold.
Before him was a barren stretch of land, scarred by flames. Having never been here before, he could only guess as to what once stood here; what ever it was, it had some meaning to his new found companion. Little could be done for her, Hiro was not a man of kind words nor was he the type to comfort others, it was just not something he did. If these people were struck down than there was only two possibilities; either they had violated the plan set before them by fate and were met with fierce consequence, or someone had violated the trust that Fate had bestowed upon them and taken life from this land. Either way, justice would be done.
A sad truth it was but a truth none the less, it could not be changed and there was no going back. Placing a powerful hand on the shoulder of the young woman who had resigned herself to the floor, he half-dragged her up to her feet using his large size to an advantage.
With out wasting any breath, he turned his figure away from the wreckage and began to walk slowly off.

"I will not say I understand your feelings right now, because I do not; but there is nothing to be had by dwelling here. What ever transpired here is done, and there is no way to change that. Walking this path that I walk is about conviction yes, but not to be able to cary out judgement. The conviction you need, is the conviction to stand up and take these kinds of events with stride, move forward, and do not falter even if it tears your very soul out to do it. If these people went against fate's way and have been punished then so be it, if these people were broken by another who strayed from the path then we will find them eventually and their judgement will come. Either way, there is nothing to grieve. THAT is the conviction you need, to sell your body and soul to the path that we walk no matter what happens and what you may want."
His words flowed with practiced ease, filled with a strong sense of conviction and desire. Even if it was wrong of him to think so, this was a good thing; What ever this place had meant to her it no longer existed and she would have to come to terms with that. If she were to follow him on his mission then there would be many more scenes just like this one to come, if she can not get over one of them.... then she can't be expected to deal with the rest and she would be unfit to walk this path. With out wasting any breath, he turned his figure away from the wreckage and began to walk slowly off.
"Now... I believe we came here to see the Kusakage did we not?"
If she truly believed in the same things that he did, she would follow. His leaving was as much a test as anything else that had happened this past couple of days. Of course if she didn't come he would be in a bit of trouble as he would be stuck in the middle of a foreign shinobi nation with no foreign shinobi guiding him... but that was a matter best left forgotten.Enter/Exit[/font]
