The dark haired therapist sat behind her large desk, simply staring at the azure-colored haired kunoichi. The therapist was the one of break the silence, she feared her 'patient' would actually fall asleep.
"So, tell me about the first time you met your tutors." The therapist said, her green eyes hidden behind small glasses.
Nanao yawned as she sat more into her comfy couch, ready to explain her life story. She had no idea why her mother wanted to send her here. Something about getting rid of that lazyness, rubbish the young Rain Nin thought.
"Well, the first tutor that I met was Byakuya, he was to teach me about the water element." the blue haired girl started.
Flashback
The tall man stood near the body small body of water. It was a small oasis-like pond, at least six feet deep at its center at the center of a forest. The rain poured upon the sensei and his now new student. Her mother had led her to this secret getaway but had shunshined away as quickly as possible to leave Nanao alone with her new tutor.
"I am Byakuya, master of water. Have you ever wanted to breathe under water, little one?" The man asked, his eyes examining the little girl.
Nanoa wore a brown suit that her mother had picked out for her. It would not cause any trouble to her movement, something excellent for training. Her long blue hair were tied up in two pigtails. She shrugged.
"Never cared to think about it..." The young Sansutomu said, her shoulders lifting slightly.
"Well... Think fast!" Byakuya screamed as a whip made of water came out of the pond and grabbed the young prodigy by the ankle throwing her into the water.
The freezing water woke up the young, upcoming ninja. Her eyes opened widly, the only movement in the water that she could see was her arms and the water movement from her own actions. Everything else seemed peaceful, serene. Soon an uncomfortable feeling appeared upon her lungs, she was running out of air, the silent view would come to an end as she swam to the top of the water, taking a deep breath as she came out.
"You can do better than that! I know your father! He can go underwater for two and a half hours! Control your chakra, spread them to where you think is best in need of help when underwater. This is a simple jutsu that you must develop by yourself it was the basis of any water jutsu." Byakuya called out, he was not truely surprised of her time spent underwater, she was young and had never trained in this particular technique.
Nanao nodded. She dived back into the water, her eyes closed tightly. Soon everything became silent as she stilled her breath and concentrated, it seemed as if the silence helped her chakra control. She smiled, molding the chakra to her lungs. She felt a sudden change.
She opened her eyes, her mouth mimicked the eyes. Somehow, the difficulty to breathe had lessened. She felt free, she swam under water, going deeper and deeper, soon a sharp pain invaded her ears, the pressure of the water took its toll on the small girl, her eyes sight was also slightly getting confused. Soon her lungs were having difficulty. She swam back, her sudden liberty had been taken away again, as suddenly as it had appeared.
She took deep breathes as she swam to the side of the pond. She clinged to a rock as she tried to regain all the oxygen she had lost. Her tutor moved to her side. A smile on his face. "Now you know what to change, what to make better," He explained.
Once Nanao had stilled her breath, she dived once more into the cold, calming body of water. Her chakra was sent to her lungs creating its own form of oxygen to keep her breathing underwater. She felt her own supply of oxygen double, she was actually breathing underwater.
She also sent chakra to her eyes. These chakra lenses would enable her to see through water as if it was normal air. She concentrated, mustering all the chakra she could to make it possible for her to actually see underwater.
She also remembered the pain in her ears as she had dove deeper into the water. She sent a steady flow of chakra to her ears, making them able to withstand the pressure from the body of water above her. Soon she was able to dive to the bottom of the pond and swim to very closely to the floor while her lungs continued taking the oxygen from the water mixing it with her chakra.
