Yarimura Sensei and Chiaki position themselves in the open field. Sensei had a suspicious grin like he was hiding something up his sleeve. “I bet you know what I am going to do next.” Sensei spoke. “Of course I do; you are going to conjure up some sort of moving target. You know I am ready for anything you got.” Chiaki replied confidently.
“Right you are. But for this exercise, do not use your hands, I want you to choose a weapon to perform the Bukisuraisu.” Chiaki only had a small purse with her. “But master, I have no weapon?” She replied frustrated. Sensei was already preparing for the exercise. He was creating several different water beasts. “You must improvise young one.” was all Sensei could advise.
Chiaki had to hurry. Sensei had already created several different ink monsters and he wasn’t finished. She knew that he would send several opponents all at once. She was searching the ground for anything but there was not a single stick or even a twig. When she looked back up, she saw that Sensei had created a small army of ink creatures. Dragons, wolves, griffins, and serpents, they were all taking positions around her and she knew it was about to begin. “Well, I guess the purse will have to do.” she said to her self.
Chiaki carried a small stylish purse and when she grabbed it by the straps, it began to feel like a proper weapon. She began to twirl it like a sling. She pulled the chakra from within and powered her swirling purse. It was beautiful. It glowed and sparkled and hissed with energy. The attack began. Immediately two ink wolves began to charge Chiaki. She quickly executed a crisscross maneuver and shot out two wind sickles. The large sickles rapidly dissected the two wolves.
Then she quickly spun around to face the assault from behind. A griffin was flying straight at her at near eye level and a dragon was dive-bombing her from directly above. Chiaki wielded her purse like a nun-chuck and shot out two more sickles in rapid succession. Neither ink monster could react, the wind sickles moved with extreme velocity and it quickly exploded each one into a large ink mess.
Chiaki looked in all directions. Sensei had summoned more beasts and they were all stampeding in her direction. There must have been nearly twenty or thirty different monsters converging on her. She was undaunted, however, and she began to fight them off in a fury. She moved at incredible speeds and she was slicing her purse through the air in all directions and all angles. Lightning infused wind arcs ran through the air and it tore through each beast with ease. When it was all over, the once green fields were now black with ink.
“Excellent Chiaki!” Sensei applauded, “you have demonstrated great skill with the Bukisuraisu.” “I like this technique; it’s awesome!” Chiaki exclaimed. She was staring at her purse in amazement; she would never take it for granted again. “You have handled it well, but be advised, this technique can be used for offense and defense. The Bukisuraisu can also repel weapons.” Chiaki nodded in understanding.
The once shy pupil had grown in strength and confidence. She reflected on all the techniques she had learned. Sensei could sense her thoughts. “You have come a long way young one. Soon, it will not be water beasts that you face. Soon, it will be real ones.” Sensei spoke sternly. Chiaki stared back with her green eyes and nodded in respect. No matter what struggles she would face, she knew she could handle it.
