A Kuro awoke this morning; a cool breeze could be felt blowing in through his open window. Smiling to himself, he knew today was the day he had planned for, a day he had set aside for training. As he got out of bed, he looked out of his window and down into the street. Below, people scurried about wit their daily routines as usual. Some carried baskets of food, others lugged around carts filled with goods. Above the sky was slightly clear and judging by the stains on the ground it had recently rained.
After getting dressed, Kuro picked up his naginata. It shown rather brightly day, being that it had been so thoroughly cleaned after the last mission he had taken. Having tasted blood, rusting was the last thing Kuro wanted for the weapon, so after cleaning it he had oiled it, giving it sheen like quality of look. Slinging the weapon over his back he head out the door.
As Kuro reached the gates an A.N.B.U. with a familiar mask gave him a nod. Waving back, Kuro began to make his trek out into the soggy lands. After walking for several miles, Kuro reached the edge of the river next to his clearing. After a short swim and another short walk, Kuro came to rest in the center of the hill. There he sat for time, pondering which jutsu to practice next. Finally, an idea popped into his head as he looked down at a puddle formed in the mud. Remembering his earlier training, he knew what he would learn.
[[Flashback]]
It was a cool day outside, and Kuro was only eleven years old. Still in the stage of his life where everyone was trying to teach him water jutsu, his sensei had called him to teach him one such technique used for stealth. It had rained just hours before, and the land all about the area was riddled with puddles. Next to the area flowed a small creek, snaking about before it reached the edge of river nearby.
Explaining the jutsu, his master sat holding a “Rat” handseal. “This is quite simple Kuro, even for a more advanced technique.” Pulling his hands apart he brought them together again. “The nin simply places his or her hands together, forming a rat seal like such, releasing their chakra into the blood stream. The chakra then spreads over throughout the body, and as the nin wills it to do so, he/she will begin to break down the very foundation of their being, allowing them to assume the shape of water.” Taking his hands apart he pointed to a nearby puddle. “Though the technique does slow the user when they are on the ground, if they can reach a body of water” he stated, pointing at the creek “they can traverse with speed and ease, allowing them to either escape or prepare for the coming attack.”
On that day Kuro practiced for hours, but given his lack of skill at the time with water jutsu, he did little more than begin to turn himself into a semi clear gelatinous blob.
[[End Flashback]]
Smiling now with the thought of his past trials, Kuro took up his hands and began to practice the rat seal, while letting thoughts of his body turning and breaking down travel through his mind.
