The Sakurai moved with both grace and speed as he moved quickly down the path that led toward the docks. Each step carried him farther and farther from the village he would be representing in these upcoming exams. Were he to pass, Masuo would advance to the next level of honor amongst his fellow shinobi, the rank of Chuunin. Little effort was required for him to make it all the way down to the nation's cost where the boat awaited him; a brief nod to the boat master and he was on board awaiting whatever other passengers would be using it to carry them across the vast body of water to the Land of Sea. Once all the others had boarded the ferry would be on its way.
The small vessel moved smoothly across the surface of water, sending ripples dancing across the water's surface in its wake. At the other end of his long journey was the goal that he had been awaiting for so long, a true test of his skills as a shinobi and a chance to be considered 'ready' for the next step. The young Sakurai could not help but allow his mind to wander off, lost among the infinite possibilities of what these exams may hold for him. Where most would be taking this time to think about whether or not they were prepared for these exams, Masuo was merely contemplating the possibilities that could arise from his success; why should he? He was more than confident in his abilities to perform at the level that was required of him to succeed.
In the midst of all his thinking, the Genin almost forgot about the boat he was standing on and did not realize that it was nearing his destination. Only a few hundred yards away was the country that held his future. So close and yet so far, a seemingly endless amount of time passed before the boat finally docked at the shores of the nation and he set foot on land in this new place. A country that he had never yet visited, but sure enough this would not be the last. The unfamiliarity with his surroundings would merit a brief look around before he was ready to set forth to find the registration area for the exams.
