Slowly, the sliding door that led to the Kusagakure's Kenjutsu dojo was pushed open to admit a small figure within. Honey blonde locks were pulled up into their signature pigtails, perfect for staying out of her face whilst she trained. "Raiju-sensei?" She called out quietly, glancing around the room filled with dummies and mats. "Sensei, are you here?" Shuffling footsteps caught her attention and she pushed further into the room, lips peeling back into a smile as her old sensei appeared before her. "Ahh.. Riou," he cooed, nodding his head. "You are here to finish your studies." It wasn't a question; she had no other reason to be in this place. "Then let us begin."
"Yes, sir," she chirped, and stood back to watch even as he moved his hand to pat the hilt of his sword, which was tucked through his obi. "Now, my student. You have already mastered Battojutsu, and that is wonderful. But defense is just as important as offense, and this is why I shall show you as much as I can in Iaijutsu."
Facing her, he took a few steps forward and bent his front knee. "You cannot see," he murmured, a concentrated look flashing across his face, "But I am distributing most of my weight upon this front leg. You must do so as well." His rear leg was kept stretch out, but also bent slightly. "Do not lock your back knee. Turn your toes at a forty-five degree angle.." He did so, whilst speaking. "This is called the bow stance, and it is the building block for the Iaijutsu stance."
From that position he moved his hands, his right hand resting gently over the hilt of his katana. "Watch closely," he sighed. His other hand was held just under the hilt, on the sheathe. "From this position you can move to kneeling or standing, perfect for what I am going to show you soon." With that, he straightened out of the stance quite easily. "Got it?"
"Yes, sensei!"
