Mikio stared at the barren wasteland in front of him with discontent; it was obvious why they wanted to reforest the area at least. It didn’t seem right for such a large area to be void of life, which made him glad that it was his mission to fix it. The shinobi supposed that he could make trees grow with Hanakora seeds, but he didn’t have nearly enough to cover the entire area that had been assigned to him. Taking a single seed from a bag, he rolled it in his hand for a moment, wondering how he’d be able to turn it into many more. Staring at it for a moment or two, something popped into his mind.
Making the seed in his hand grow into a fully bloomed daisy, he set it on the ground and formed the barely remembered handseals. Watching the flower expectantly, a look of disappointment flashed through the green eyes as he noticed that nothing was happening. A frown marred Mikio’s usually grinning face as he glared at the flower, why didn’t it work? The shinobi supposed that his control could be off, that was usually where he messed up anyway. Seeing as how no visible change occurred, he figured that he didn’t put enough power into it rather than it being too much. He didn’t know what would happen if he had used too much chakra, but he was sure that it would have been something other than nothing.
Forming the seals again, he leaked more energy into them as he carefully watched the red daisy. His eyes lit up when the flower began to wilt, but the expression faded when it didn’t do anything more besides discolor slightly. The flower was supposed to decompose, but it only seemed to start doing that. Since it didn’t complete the change, the attempt was a failure in his eyes. Feeling a bit frustrated, Mikio made the handseals again while pushing even more chakra into it than before, figuring that putting in a lot would get something done.
The dying flower promptly withered, but it didn’t turn into pollen or seeds, it just sat there in a dry husk of what it had been just moments ago. The crumpled brown plant seemed to be mocking him, so he stomped on it. Turning his back on the offensive, now dead flower, he walked away from it and started planting seeds from one of his bags. Once he started running low on supplies, he stopped and started to make the planted seeds grow into trees. The process was rather draining, so once he was done he toke a short brake and toke one of few remaining seeds out of the bag.
Setting the seed on the ground, he turned it into a new flower and formed the seals once more. Pouring in about the same amount of chakra into it as before, he measured it to gouge how much more or less energy he’d have to put into it. Watching as the daisy crumpled into the dead browned form, a tick still formed on his forehead even though he was fully aware of what was going to happen. Noting that it seemed he’d need a bit more power punched into the latter handseals, he figured that it’d give him the results he desired.
