Name: Operation: Sea Guard
Rank: B
Plot:
In the years before the conclusion of the first shinobi war, the Tena clan known for their hellish jutsu and scorpion insignia had supported the creation of Sound Country. Considered to be more powerful than any other clan in Sound Country, they were known be the elitist sort; striving for their own utopia. This utopia however, didn’t include the rest of the clans that had fought for the land they’d gain to form this country. After a month of attempting to gain leadership on a diplomatic level, the Tena clan had enough of peaceful negotiations and started what would be known in the country’s dark past as “Laconic War” due to its swift end. The leader known for his lust for power had went into hiding at the end of the war and the Tena clan itself was “abolished” from existence or so would for the time being.
Many years after the creation of the Sound Village and other shinobi wars, one group would emerge from the woodwork; a small family who’d proclaim themselves to be of the “Tena Clan”; this clan would sweep across the nation of the Sound, gathering those who had ancestry in the clan in the attempt to restore the clan in its previous glory with the intention of doing what their ancestors could not and rule the village of Sound. Although rather small in size, for several years this reemerging clan had become a thorn in the Sound Village’s side. Their tactics had involved guerilla warfare and terrorist activity in both the military installations in the Sound Village and the Capital City. Seeing this as little more than a small threat in the early days (they left no casualties), the Sound village did little other than conduct missions of capturing and jailing enemy combatants that would attempt to scare or sabotage plans.
They would remain little threat till a new leader would arise a year later in the famous jail break known as the “Great Enigma” in military reports. Their new leader known as Gentama had convinced his family, sons and daughters to finally shed blood for they perceived to be their “divine right” in regard to leading the Sound Village. On the day of the Great Enigma, five were dead, all shinobi on the side of the Sound village. The attack was a success, but this wouldn’t come without repercussion, from that day on the Sound Village refused to simply imprison the Tena clan, but rather execute everyone involved in an illegal activity and begin their extermination of the leadership in the clan. The Tena clan already exiled and hated by the rest of Sound Country would find comfort in their roots and remain in Sound Country but in hiding; after finding a suitable place of solitude they’d begin what would be later known as the “Chain of Misfortunes” by using explosives in busy city areas and destroying ships that could supply to the country of Sound.
As time went by, their violence increased and the search for this clan grew every more frustrating, finally an infamous sound ninja known for his tracking skills had found the hideout for this clan. After reporting it to the appropriate authority the Tena clan would perform one last devious deed that would result in several hundred casualties. On a warm summer day along the east shore of Sound Country, many residents had taken to the beach to relax; unbeknownst to them they’d been trapped in a barrier seal and would slaughtered by the highly skilled Tena Clan members involved. The name for this event would be known as the “East Shore Massacre” leaving only a handful of survivors to tell the tale as result; some say that the only reason they’d survived was due to the dulled blades after cutting so much flesh and others that the survivors did so by simply playing dead as being struck.
This would come as a last straw to the Daimyo of Sound Country who’d issue the order to the kage to mobilize forces and capture the clan. After surrounding their hideout, the clan itself would surrender. The Sound village would take every male above the age of fifteen as a result, leaving their fighting force near nothing. Held in captivity for five years the boys who were near the age of fifteen would grow to learn from the mistakes of their father’s and seek redemption of their blood. After meeting with the Daimyo themselves they’d agree to give up their freedom to keep their name as the Tena clan and conduct task for the Country as a form of redemption. Striving for peace, many saw this clan as taking steps towards a peaceful assimilation back into Sound Country culture.
The witnesses however would end up testifying against the unaccountable members involved and sentence them all to death. Having done such a deed, they knew the Tena clan wouldn’t be happy and as a precautionary measure ordered their relocation every year as part of the “Witness Protection Program”. Though on a day of relocation it was reported that this clan not only killed the victims of the East Shore but also destroyed a small village known as ‘Niban Konoha’ to show their distaste for the Sound Village’s actions; this report had come from none other than Niatsu who realized that a few members had infiltrated the ranks. As of result the order has finally been given by the Daimyo himself for the eradication of this clan permanently.
