Good luck seemed to run out for the team at that moment, such a pity it could not last through the experiment. As everyone worked busily on their comatose test subject, a disaster began to strike. A sort of flickering began to become noticeable, entering the seal which they had prepared beforehand. Shit, this was a bad sign, that seal had been deemed an essential piece to the entire experiment and they could not allow it to fail. Though luck had seemed to abandon them, preparation for any such occurrence was something they had factored into their calculations.
Three men who had been standing on the sidelines doing nothing until this point rushed out. The special design of the seal would allow them to continue placing chakra into it as was needed, but that design also required three people for that to be done. Simultaneously each man focused on their inner power of the gods and the tenketsu that locked it up were forced open. Each man could feel it, that sickly sweet power, the tar tainted joy in its purest form as it focused around their hands. The ethereal blue glow of that energy began to emanate around their arms and finally after reaching their hands the three men began pouring that strength they had gathered into the seal to keep it from dying.
Though they were all worried about the situation, those in the observation deck were not allowed to interfere with the work of their colleagues. They simply prayed that the foresight the staff had shared would come in handy and save them from this massive fuck up. As new chakra flowed into the seal that had been fading moments ago the doctors at work on the man who was all but dead now continued without stop. Both arms had been completed, emptied of bone sinew and flesh and replaced with oak planks the same shape as his old body and filled with wire. The extremities were almost completed, so up next would be the legs, and once the legs were replaced with wire the torso would be worked on.
In the same way the arms had begun, each of the scientific doctors made evenly spaced incisions into his legs. The flesh was carefully being cut away from the sinew, detaching flesh from muscles would allow for a greater range of movement. That did not really matter much though, wood would become flesh and wire would become muscle. As the progress was made on the legs of Kiyotaka others finished up the last bit of work on the man's arms. Wire was sewn into small holes to slightly attach the planks together, the test subject would have to finish up the patch job himself if he survived this.
