The eight whips cracked around Atsy's body sinisterly as he held his arms up in defense. The boy knew that he was no expert of Taijutsu, but he still had enough confidence in his ability to stop the majority of his mother's blows. Even if he could not guard himself, with his hands now free, Atsy would be able to evade his mother more efficiently.
Erith wasted no time in her assault, taking advantage of the poor visibility and hearing to strike at her son from his blind spots. The Suiton no Tate whips struck at the woman every time she attacked, while the boy ducked and dodged her devastating blows. The pair danced on top of the raging waves for what seemed like hours before the boy fell to his knee. Atsy's chakra was running low.
"We need to take a break!" the boy called out panting to the open lake. Atsy was not sure if his mother could hear him, but he hoped that she would. "Just a short..."
A knee connected with the boy's open face, sending him soaring backwards through the air. The a pair of whips wrapped around the offending leg as the boy flew, jerking him to a halt while he tried to regain his senses. Atsy felt as if he was going to die from exhaustion and his mother continued still. The boy grunted as he got back on his feet.
"Fine!" he called out again. "We'll keep going until I die!"
As if answering the boy's smart remark, a water whip grabbed Atsy's ankle and swung him. The whip released the boy's ankle mid swing, sending the boy's small body crashing over the wavy water. Atsy tumbled as he landed, rolling over the waves until he slid to a halt. His own water whips sprang to life as soon as the boy regained his awareness, just in time to stop a handful of shuriken from penetrating the boy.
The eight whips caught the shuriken and spun them on their tips, waiting to release the shuriken back to their owner. Atsy closed his eyes and blocked out the sound of the storm. The boy's senses were as chaotic as the environment around him. And while Atsy's jutsu training had progressed quickly, the boy knew that it would not be enough to stop the fight.
