Council Chambers IC [Private]

Deep within Kiri’s village borders, the nest of the Council of Elders lie in rest for one of its agents to report in. Within the main meeting room, 7 figures sit, currently sipping tea. Their reports from sources claim that she had returned to the land. How much longer would they have to wait? Well, it wasn’t as if they were really simply waiting around. Rather, they were enjoying themselves and scheming over oolong tea, sipping the bitter sweet substance between speech. The dimly lit room they inhabited was in the center of the mansion-esque villa, facing an inner garden. When She arrived, they would be informed, and grant her audience to her supperiors.

The long awaited agent of Kurokiri had finally arrived. She took as many back roads as she could to avoid eye contact. For some reason it always seemed like Kurokiri was "infiltrating" the village when they entered or at least for her it was. The Phantom would descend to the entrance of the manor, carrying an interesting gift in tow. The elders no doubt were busy plotting over Oolong tea, so they'd have a messenger at the door. Said messenger must surely be able to differentiate the Kage and his ANBU from one of their own operatives but how?

"Phantom 0001, reporting." was all the messenger needed to hear and once escorted inside, the operative would then release the henge, garbed in the iwagakure ANBU guise once more. The dimly lit room made it hard to make out the greatest amount of details, which is probably how the council liked it. She'd kneel down presenting the Chuunin's body, along with a notebook of information.

"That notebook is documentation on Iwagakure. It details their gate security, as well as missions they've taken. At the moment I'm garbed as one of their ANBU from the Owl division. Since I did not want to reveal my identity to someone not affiliated with the council, I had to subdue this Chuunin ninja, my appologies..."

Her fellow operative seemed familiar with the gesture, as well as the operative number, allowing her passage without even a pause. As she made her appearance before her superiors, it should be noted that of the 7 seated figures, 1 sat closer to the forefront. This figure was the one whom had since stopped sipping his tea. It was obvious he’d be the speaker for the day, one who would in a sense, own the floor. Nodding perhaps to himself, the old yet masculine figure cleared his throat.


“It is clear you take your jobs rather serious Kamiko chan. When summoned, you should do better to appear sooner, as we’ve had to pursue our course of actions without you till this point. Now, as to your spying, we will review your findings later. In the meantime, it is good that you cover your whereabouts. You will not be punished for this chuunin’s fate.” A break in the conversation arose with the clamor of the other council members. More whispers were heard than actual snippets of conversation.


Eventually, the chambers grew quiet, followed shortly afterwards by the main figure clearing his throat again. “Kamiko, have a seat. How rude of me. Now, on to current business. The council has decided to instate you as an official shinobi so that you may prove more useful. Before that, however, we like to hear of your whereabouts this past year. How has your training been going?” Was that genuine concern in her progress as a shinobi? Doubtful. Rather, it was more likely they would soon need to “use” their little tool sometime in the near future. However, what would this future hold?

Kamiko listened intently, though somewhat fearful. She was grateful the Owl mask guised her facial features. The break in the conversation had made her somewhat weary but silence would shortly resume. When instructed to have a seat, she'd stand up and take a seat at the center of the room, giving the different council members a much clearer view. Kamiko herself focused her attention upon the Council member whom was at the forefront. Judging by the voice and sillhouette he was male, as he continued to speak the voice triggered a memory of when she was reawoken from imprisonment. She was almost positive this was the voice she awoken to, but made sure to strain her ears, just to clarify.

Behind the Owl mask, her amethyst eyes had a slight glint to them, Eternal Chaos had remained active since she was trying to get a steady grasp on the situation. The auras of each council member were presented to her and she took mental notes as the "conversation" progressed. Now that it was her time to speak, she would summarize the situation accordingly:

"I was perfecting my technique in Gintsuki no seiko mai. I've reached the Guardian stage, making me a master of the discipline. I then found myself in Kaminari no Kuni where I met with an old acquaintance. I then gained the oppertunity to become acquainted with an Iwagakure ANBU and proceeded to do research on the village within their very walls. It is through this aquaintance that I posses my current garb."

She paused for a moment, before continuing with her next train of thought.

"If you wish to instate me as an official shinobi of the village then that's fine, however I won't be able to perform any phantom missions since I'll have low level clearance..."

Kamiko's voice trailed off, she didn't want to sound rebelious for fear of being Imprisoned once more. Her gaze no sooner averted down to her lap, she clasped her hands together so as not to twiddle her thumbs or portray her nervousness via body langauge.

"I don't quite understand what they're up to but perhaps I'll be able to gain their identities now that they're actively engaging me..." the Akumu mused to herself.

Listening intently, the entirety of the council could be seen nodding at the accomplishment. The shadowed figurines bobbed about slightly before several would resume sipping off their tea. As she finished her conversing, a subtle change in the overall vibe began to unsettle itself. Ah, it seemed the young lass forgot who held her sovereignty with their very meticulously placed hands. Throughout the dimly lit room, a brief shifting of the lighting would allow her to get a clear view of part of the fore figures face. What she would see would be a very cold, nearly reptilian eye, with the light slanting diagonally to his lips, curled in a grin.


“Now, now, Kamiko chan. Don’t be mistaken. We’re not discarding your convenience. We’re simply, adding to your practices. You’ll simply have to live a double life for us as well. Just don’t allow any slip ups. You were your -fathers pride and joy. It would be a shame for your clan to need a new Heiress. You know what happens with such a failure after all. And poor Jishiro had such a bright future till that time. Oh well.” A slight snicker followed suit, the brief flicker of light passing to an empty section of the room.


It was as if he were trying to hold a past threat over the Akumu’s head. Yet, would it instill the fear and obedience he intended, or would it only stir the flames of contempt and wrath? “Now, there will be a chuunin exams being held in some months. If you’re that worried about official rankings, you may attend him, and earn the Mizukage’s acknowledgement, in which case, you still report to us. But in more important news, your brother organization, the Red Fangs have been having some difficulties. We would like you to investigate them. Until, then recover sono 6060 and summon him here. There are more matters to discuss.”

Shady movements occured within the room despite the heiress' eyes beholding their auras. Upon the shifting of light, her eyes naturally honed in on where the light stopped. Her heart literally skipped several beats, before pounding rapidly. The repitilian eye, the grin on his face, she had no idea it was this very monster that had awakened her from Imprisonment when she first came to. Her form was freezing up as he began to talk. "Double life? So I'm expected to mask my Phantom activities and try to be a genin under the Mizukage's ranks? Is that even possible..."

Yet before she could contemplate, it would seem the council not only thought it was quite possible but failure to adhere to the request...well, she didn't want to end up like her father. Nor did she want to inconvenience her clan in anyway. She had responsibilities to them, it became possible at that moment that her success or failure very well determined the lives of those she held dear. These elders like the generation before them meant business. Though they didn't seem to consider her father to be much, snickering at his failures and manipulating his daughter...those gathered here were truely evil or where they?

Politics forced the hand of many in these times. Peace reigned and restricted the movements of villages. There would be no war against other villages, so how could they pull ahead via traditional means? Simple, you cheat the system like the council was doing. Perhaps it was for the best? Well, the heiress didn't really have much say in the matter, her life was on the line.

"I understand and will obey the council's wishes. Before I retrieve sono 6060, I'm lacking the necessary garb to do my work. Will it be possible to exchange this Iwagakure ANBU uniform for Kirigakure's?" Hopefully her well meant request wouldn't go against her...

Ah, very good. It seemed the young Heiress understood perfectly. She did have no leeway in the manner. It was simply follow orders, or suffer dire consequences. However, the man seemed quite pleased with her response, as when he would begin to speak again, the impending threat and promising tone was lost. “Ah, yes. But of course. I wouldn’t begrudge you such a necessity. Follow the messenger here to the quests changing room. I’m sure there is a spare uniform there that you can use.”


A brief clapping of his hands would summon a different messenger than the one who led to the council’s meeting area. Motioning for her to follow, she would be led down a corridor to a room that very plainly decorated. The door, swinging wide open, revealed a stockpile of different clothing, but surely, she’d find what she was looking for. She’d be left alone for a few minutes while she changed. When she left, that messenger would lead her back out the grand mansion, where she could pursue her next objective, of course, only after being handed her official phantom task.

Objective: Spy on Sono 6060 before retrieving him for the council.
Description: Kiri’s council of elders requires the gathering of other operatives. Today’s target is Sono 6060. Observe his behavior for a short while before retrieving him to bring him forth before the council. Once he has been retrieved, make a personal report on his whereabouts to the council.

"Thank you honourable Elders." was the only response given after the brief clap. A new messenger was summoned and Kamiko took note of this individual. Following along in silence, she began to take mental notes of the details of the council's quiet villa. How nice that the village paid for such an establishment. Though her mind was currently thinking about what was said earlier:

"Brother organization...just how deep is the council's influence? I'm in need of some more information, while I was away I didn't keep up with as much tabs as I should concerning Kirigakure. Aren't the Red Fangs a criminal orgaization...?"

The heiress mused to herself as she was lead to a plainly decorated room. The door swung open to reveal a stockpile of different clothing. Clearly if the council possesed the uniform for ANBU, as well as other critical positions...then was it possible that the ranks of ANBU in this village were filled with unqualified (at least in terms of official ranks) shinobi? Not that she was any better. Though in her case, this was more of a disguise around the village unless making contact with the Kage. Thus she'd close the doors for privacy sake, before beginning to change her clothes. Of course that Taihaku didn't get her clothes that fit but one could say he fufilled most of his requirements. What he didn't fufill were the scrolls, thus as part of her side mission; she'd be hunting him down with her newfound access. After all, he needed to fully "pay" for the Tokihaga he wielded.

Once she was suited up, she'd look at the Kirigakure ANBU mask before her. It had been quite awhile since she donned such a mask, but just like before...her purpose was...shady. The mask she beheld had red stripes painted vertically along each eye. Said eyes were slanted, like a cats, signifying how deceptive and cunning ANBU could be. Once she placed the mask on, she felt complete and would be able to head to her little "residence" in the village. Of course she wouldn't be able to leave withot her task, it was promptly handed to her by the messenger and she'd nod confirming the duty before a miniture sonic boom was heard as she disguised her high speed movements.
