It wasn't too long before the sight of Enrai was no longer on the horizon, and all that was keeping him company was the cold air, the snow, and his own thoughts. He had prepared for the exam for some time, finding flaws in his styles and techniques, finding ways of countering them so that he could be prepared for any mistakes as best as he could. he had the additional resources that Marii had given to him as a gift, and he still had his greatest asset - his mind. All that was left to do now was arrive, register, and wait for the first tests. The snow crunched underfoot as he moved down the road towards the coastline where the harbour and his ship would be waiting for him. A few hours, he would be out on the open sea on his way for the long haul around the continent to reach the island where the exam would begin.
The sky darkened, the air taking a turn for the colder, and his coat became the only thing keeping his body from freezing in the air - he thought that the winters of Yuki no Kuni were bad, but this was almost as vicious and merciless as the weather from there as well. 'I guess everywhere can have bad weather then.' He mumbled under his breath, breathing into his coat to keep the warm air as close to him as possible. Fortunately, he could see the harbour town before his eyes, and he rushed across to there as fast as his cold-bitten body would take him.
Within a short while, he was on the boat, his belongings packed into a footlocker, and himself wrapped into three layers of blanket to bring warmth back through his body. The boat left the harbour, heading southwards around the coastline, and within time he would be relaxing on the ocean as it drew closer towards the Land of the Moon, the site of this years Chuunin Exam.
