Travel to the Mainland [Private]

It was time to move for Niatsu, a year had pasted since his journey and after such events he was left without anything else but to wander the world. “What is this…” spoke Niatsu, the words seeping from his lips like sap gliding down a tree. His eyes array, his heart pounding, a panic attack was taking place as he forced himself onto a ferryboat quietly. He was man likely forgotten about in the world, after all a year had past. Though his soul raged in its continued anger, his heart aches in a pitfall of pain. “Set sail” called the voice of a crewmember as the sound seemed to startle the unsure man, Niatsu had truly become... Empty.

The bells chimed and the engine roared as the ferryboat set sail. With his head hung low, the former shinobi sat with head between his knees, trying to forget the events of the past year that changed him so internally that he himself was shaken by it. Niatsu was one of adaptation, but his ache he felt in his chest, What is this pain... he thought as his daydream was brought to reality by the tapping of a crewmember upon his shoulder "Sir, we've arrived to the mainland" said the crewmember. Looking up calmly Niatsu left without a word and without a particular direction of heading.

The trek across the sea had taken Niatsu to the mainland, to the place that had so many wars, which revealed love along with cause pain. Life here seemed almost like a cycle and he’d heard talk of it before, love breeds pain, that leads to hatred. But Niatsu didn’t need such a dull saying to see that was the case, his life was built around this realization after-all. Taking a step off the boat onto the rugged surface of a wooden pier stretching 100 feet, he paused, taking in the smell of the forest just beyond the small sea-side town that stood before him. “Sir would you like me to carry any bags for you?” asked a crewmember approaching Niatsu, but the voice didn’t even register, Niatsu was already lost in thought. “Sir-Sir?! Helllo?!” shouted the agitated crewmember, his request going unanswered. “Quit being an ass—” but as soon as the word ‘ass’ left the crewmembers mouth, the eyes of the ‘Red Bull’ Niatsu shifted towards him. “I-I-I’m sorry… I’ll go now” the crewmember said hastily walking back onto the ship. Dumb bastard… Niatsu thought to himself, turning his sights back forward and taking his first step forward.

Time had passed since his first step forward, he’d made his way out of the small town, not stopping for anything other than to grab a water, the sensing of people’s emotions but him ill-at-ease and being away from other humans seemed to calm his mind. “Kyouto…” called a voice in the distance, a voice that seemed so familiar. Kiyohime?! he thought, his eyes stuttering his body shifting around swiftly to see no one there, his senses not sensing good or bad intentions. Pausing for a moment he’d check his inner chakra by focusing it to his brain It’s not genjutsu… but my own mind?! he thought to himself as his breathing grew rough, his mind heavily engaged in the thought of her. Staggering a short bit through the trail in the forest he’d lean against a tree, his right hand resting firmly along its trunk, head hung low like a weight being strapped around his neck. “Shit…” he said straightening his back spontaneously by pushing off his right arm. “…Ever since” he murmured thinking back.

-Flashback-
A light satin candle aroma filled the majestic room of royal red colors and golden trim, the bedroom of Niatsu. It comforted him, the women of his dreams, the love of his life in his arms. “I can’t believe it’s been five months, its seems like yesterday you first came to the ramen shop and won me over with those intense eyes” she said being held in Niatsu’s arms. “I love you, Kyouto” she said “I love you too, Kiyohime… But there is something I want to talk to you about?” he said as she shot up to look at his face “Don’t tell me, we’re making the wedding this year?!” she said happily “N-No…” he said pausing for a moment as she stared into his eyes to possibly gain some insight as to what he meant. “Then… what is it…” she asked, starting to realize it was bad news. “Something’s wrong isn’t it… I see it in your eyes.” she said pushing off and away from Niatsu and sitting on the bed, “I’m going to compete in the Jounin Exam” he said “What? I thought you’d said you would retire from being a ninja… I thought we agreed we’d raise kids that would grow up with a father” she said. “I won’t die… Just believe in me…” he said with a wishful smile. She shot up from the bed “If you do this! I’m leaving you! My father died as a shinobi, I won’t let you have the same fate!” she said. Standing up aswell, Niatsu paused for a moment “Kiyohime, I love you. But sometimes you can’t sit stand by and do nothing. Wait for me…” Niatsu said leaving the room, Kiyohime in tears as he left, his heart full of sadness.
-End Flashback-

His mind faded back into reality, his head shook slightly in distain of the memory. Before he could fully comprehend his change in direction, he was headed for the Sound Country, his mind wandering in the realm of his past.
