Personality:
Karasu Kumomusha is a proud, arrogant and intelligent child. She is unwilling to acknowledge any faults of her own aloud but will strive to correct any failings on her part. Fiercely protective of her brother, fiercely loyal to her clan, any threats to either are nothing but targets in her eyes, no exceptions.
An extravert, Karasu easily makes friends, but has a hard time keeping them due to her overbearing attitude. She has an easy and loud laugh, and is quick to show it. She dislikes complex situations, but not hard problems. She views her time as far to important to waste, and anything taking up to much of it annoys her.
Karasu has a bit of a touching problem, she doesn't understand the concept of personal space. Maybe it has something to due with a person being inside her. As the granddaughter of a man in a very high position in the clan, she is from an affluent family and has issues seeing eye to eye with the less fortunate, and can come off as crass and obtuse. She is very generous though, but not to the point of it costing her, her brother, or her clan. Karasu is also a smoker, her method of choice a long(1 foot) thin pipe. When told there was a fighting style based on smoking, and asked if she would take it up she responded; "I don't mix business with pleasure."
Karasu has a soft spot for sweets, especially frozen ones. She hates hot days, and cold nights. She would rather be in a forest training then in a dojo, as formality displeases her. This dislike extends to all situations, as she has been known to blow off many formal clan events in favor of a walk and talk with her brother, using him as an excuse; "Wish I could come to the Cloud Village Diplomats meet and greet, but Hato is way to tired.
Karasu is a pragmatist. She chose the medical profession not out of a want to heal the sick on some sort of deep spiritual or emotional level, but because there are sick, that need to be healed. She figured a medic with 12 arms might be more useful then most. She will choose the simpler solution is most situations, not because it's the easy way, but because she believes in the philosophy that the simplest of solutions is most often the correct. The only time she will go contrary to her pragmatic attitude is if a different solution will help the clan or her brother.
~~
Hato Kumomusha a quite, demure, sharp and serious young adult. He is apologetic, aware of his own physical weakness he believes it extends to all aspects of his live and is overall weak and useless. Fiercely protective of his sister, he would do anything for her. This protectiveness does not extend to his clan, the only time doing anything for the clan is by request from his sister. He idolizes his sister, in his eyes she can do no wrong.
Hato is to no surprise, being that he is the "passive" twin, an introvert. He doesn't get much chance to make friends, but when ever the occasion arises, he avoids it. He is far too serious for his age, seeing anything aside from basic functions, training, and studying as frivolous. The rest and down time his sister takes, an exception, as he puts it; "She's had a hard day, she's had a hard life. She deserves some rest." He sees many clan activities, including most ceremonies, as frivolous.
Hato has many aversions, including, but not limited to; Water, fire, dirt, harsh winds, dust storms, thunderstorms, lightning, boats, horses, large birds, large insects, fungi, closed spaces, heights, and dogs. Normally these aren't an issue as his sister is in charge, and they never really come up during a fight(he tends to block most things out) but given the choice of being by, or not being by these things, he goes for the latter.
Hato has a thing for kittens and other small, soft, furry animals. He dislikes cleaning or any other activity his families servants usually do for him. He often if not always goes along with his sisters schemes. Hato is ultimately an accomplice though, going along with Karasu, but never instigating trouble.
Hato cares little for anything aside from his training, his studies, and his sister. He knows nothing of politics, etiquette, or culture aside from knowledge instilled into him by his grandfather or osmosis from his sister. Hato is more intelligent then his sister, but will sabotage himself, or not exhibit his intelligence in order to make his sister look better. Hato stays out of conflicts, and avoid debates. He is uncaring to a near extreme.
Appearance:
Karasu stands at 5'9" with long legs and a graceful build. She is slim, and shapely for her age. She has a rounded face, with rosey and glowing complexion, with no marks aside from one dark black birthmark below her left eye. Her skin is smooth, save some calluses on her hands from working in her garden and training, and on her feet, from walking barefoot so often.
Karasu has shoulder length, jet black, straight cropped hair, bangs parting in the middle of her face. Her hair is silky and flat. Karasu has slanted eyes, near black in color, of an average size. Her eyes have mostly been described as piercing, but on occasion intimidating has been used. Her eyes instantly soften when looking upon her brother.
Karasus typical outfit is a modified kimono. First, while the Sodetsuke(arm hole) is only slightly larger to accommodate the extra arms, the Sodeguchi(sleeve opening) is the same size as the Sode(sleeve), which measures at about 35cm. The top halves collar also is much lower, not enough to expose cleavage, but enough so that he entire neck is open as well as 5cm of her upper back show. This leaves enough room for her brothers head to be comfortably out. Second, the Kimono is actually two parts, with the top half separating at the lower part of her rib cage, and the lower part starting at her hips, which exposes her mid-drift and waist. The lower half as been compared to a undivided hakama, but is just the lower half of the kimono, just lowered down and bound tighter. When not in battle or training, Karasu's extra arms rest inside the elongated and enlarged sleeves, while in battle or training, Karasu merely has to undo one clasp, and the entire top half cascades off of her, revealing her lower garments. Karasu wears only bandages under her kimono, binding her usually size of 36c to an A. The bandages also wrap her shoulders and arms, going to about elbow length.
Karasu's footwear of choice is a Geta with 5cm teeth. While in battle or training, she instead wears Jika-tabi.
~~~
Hato is a small, fair skinned young man, pale as anything. His skin is soft and supple, including his hands and feet, which would usually be callused to an extreme from his training, but because he is in his sister all the time(and he moisturizes) they remain perfectly manicured and beautiful. Hato has never been described as handsome, but is called beautiful more often then his sister. Hato sticks out in his clan because of his fair hair and skin, something that makes him feel even more disconnected from his clan.
Hatos hair is naturally white, flowing down his back and 72cm, and partially covers his face. Although that is his hairs natural state, he often wears it up, keeping it up with two decorative chopsticks, black in color with an extension of obsidian beads and a small white down feather at the end. When his hair is up he also has a clip, a stylized black feather, to keep his hair out of his face.
Hato's eyes are near black in color, deep-sunk, and large. They have been described as serious, dark pools that people can become lost in. Hato has a tendency to stare, or go for long periods of time with out blinking.
Hato wears a Judogi(Black, or white, or light blue) in most situations, not because of any preference, but because the majority of the time he is outside his sister is for training or fighting. In formal situations Hato will wear a black suit, with white accents. When in his Judogi he will wear his hair up in a ponytail, when in formal wear his hair is let down, and he will sometimes wear a black fedora. When in casual wear, a black separated Hakama and white kimono top, that is when Hato wears his hair up with decals, and wears a small amount of make up, typically just eye shadow, eye liner, and deep red lipstick, not enough to be glam, but enough to show off his natural features.
Hato's foot wear is as follows; Geta with the hakama, tabi and zori in the judogi, and black polished shoes in his suit.
Background:
During a previous war, the Grass branch of the Kumomusha clan had come across fighters implementing the Souma no Ko artificial blood line. Impressed with their abilities, Karasu and Hato's Grandfather- Taka- tasked the clans medics with finding a way to duplicate the process. It took many years, but success was finally reached, the first twins to survive the procedure being Karasu and Hatos mother and uncle. Fifteen years ago, a project was started, 8 groups of twins, 16 children in total, would undergo the procedure, that was the first phase of the social experiment dubbed "Project Siamese Spider".
Karasu and Hato were the only dizygotic twins in the group, something unknown at the time of the procedure. This caused several complications. First, the twins lacked the psychic connection that the other had. Second, Karasu, originally the passive twin, was extremely sickly, unable to be outside of her brother for more then an hour before collapsing. And finally, the twins could not instantaneously fuse together after splitting. Taka was worried that his grandchildren would fail the third phase of the social experiment.
The second phase of the experiment occurred 3 years after the 8 sets of twins were born. The parents of the children were killed in the night, and they were to be raised by the community. This was done in an attempt to separate any paternal bonds that might have formed, and replace it with a deep bond to the clan. Taka had carried out the poisoning of his own daughter and her husband. Unfortunately, Hato, who was awake at the time, witnessed his parents murder, and has locked it away since, in a place so deep, not even Karasu, who shares a psychic connection with him, can get to.
Hato trained hard, constantly honing his taijutsu skills in attempt to compensate for his sisters weakness, a weakness he blamed himself for. Karasu on the other hand, trained in the ways of ninjutsu, specifically medical ninjutsu, seeing it as useful when paired with a partner who would constantly be int he thick of battle. Hato was head of his class when it came to taijutsu, but was about average in all other aspects.
At the age of 8, phase 3 of Project Siamese Spider was put into place. The children were gathered, and the children underwent the ritual to gain the new arms. All except Karasu who was deemed too weak. Hato trained hard with his new arms, honing his taijutsu and implementing his 4 new hands. Hato soon became the most skilled genin in the clan, and perhaps the grass village.
10 years after the children birth, the 4th phase was implemented. The children would be gathered one more time, the last time they would be together. It was a fight to the death. Taka had decided that the strongest of the bunch would be married off and have many offspring, creating the strongest fighters the Kumomusha clan had ever seen.
Hato was at a disadvantage, he refused to let his sister leave his body, instead fighting off his twin enemies solo. He had succeeded in killing 10 of his peers, using his taijutsu and multiple arms, occasionally borrowing from Karasu, but it was too much. He was too weakened, he would die. Karasu would not allow this. Emerging from her brother, she used her basic medical skills to heal Hato, and her ninjutsu to defeat 2 of the remaining 4 enemies. Unfortunately she was too weak to continue. Her brother, barely conscious, ordered her to absorb him.
Karasu was confused, was that even possible? She was the passive twin after all, and argued as much. "There's nothing passive about you sister." Hato convinced her, it was the only way for both of them to survive. Karasu did the unthinkable and switched roles, absorbing her brother, she gained enough strength to finish off her enemies before collapsing.
Karasu awoke, days later, and was informed of the repercussions of her actions. Her brother had become weaker then she ever was while she was the sleeping twin. Aside from that, Karasu found that she was unable to perform many of the jutsu she had practiced, and Hato was nearly completely unable to perform his famed taijutsu. It was explained to her it was because when they switched, their chakra channels had completely changed, and they would have to relearn even the most basic of jutsu.
Taka was simultaneously proud and saddened. He had lost a child, but his grandchildren had come out as the winners. Sure, they were weakened now, but jutsu can be relearned. Taka was also disappointed in that his granddaughter, in being chosen as the breeder, could not become the clan widow. This is also the only hing that Karasu disagrees with her clan on. She does not wish to be a baby factory, she would much rather be the clan widow, and it has been the topic of many arguments between her and her grandfather.
4 years later, Karasu is a strong, beautiful young woman, ready to take the world on. Hato has gained enough power to separate from his sister for 4 hours, and has begun his taijutsu training. Seeing they have become stronger, Taka has told Karasu and Hato it is time they were married off. Karasu refused. For the first time in her life, Karasu refused her grandfather, and by extension the clan. When told she was to kill her friends, she accepted, when told her brother would forever be weakened because of something the clan had ordered her to do, she did not begrudge them.
"It would be best for the clan if I were to become widow grandfather." Karasu said in an even and steady tone. Her grandfather was silent for a while. Finally;
"Very well, I will allow you to try for the position of widow. But wiht one condition; You must go out into the world, and learn the secrets of 6 other clans."
The Grass Kumomusha clan had adopted a globalization stance on clan abilities. They wish o collect the secrets of several other clans in order to strengthen themselves. In exchange they will teach the clans they gain information from a modified version of the clans Ritual of the Spider. The modified part is a secret that only Taka and a few others know about.
"So all I have to do is learn 6 clans secrets in exchange of our own clans abilities, and I can attempt to become widow?" Karasu asked, sceptically.
Taka assured her he was telling the truth.
With a new purpose in life, Karasu returned to training, and would soon depart on an adventure for knowledge. Hato though, suspects their grandfather has ulterior motives, but will support his sister, who in the span of 4 years had become an inspiration to him, with anything.
Type: Secondary, 15 per Slot, Combative, Projectile, Shuriken
Effect: Is a concealed weapon that is generally for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Hira-shuriken is constructed from thin, flat plates of metal derived from a variety of sources including hishi-gane (coins), and kugi-nuki (carpentry tools), and generally resemble popular conceptions of shuriken. In modern popular culture, these are called "throwing stars" or "ninja stars". They often have a hole in the center and possess a fairly thin blade sharpened only at the tip. The holes derive from their source in items that had holes - old coins, washers, and nail-removing tools. This proved convenient for the shuriken user, as well, as the weapons could be strung on a string or dowel in the belt for transport, and the hole also had aerodynamic and weighting effects that aided the flight of the blade after it was thrown. There is a wide variety of forms of hira-shuriken and they are now usually identified by the number of points the blades possess.
First, while the Sodetsuke(arm hole) is only slightly larger to accommodate the extra arms, the Sodeguchi(sleeve opening) is the same size as the Sode(sleeve), which measures at about 35cm. The top halves collar also is much lower, not enough to expose cleavage, but enough so that he entire neck is open as well as 5cm of her upper back show. This leaves enough room for her brothers head to be comfortably out. Second, the Kimono is actually two parts, with the top half separating at the lower part of her rib cage, and the lower part starting at her hips, which exposes her mid-drift and waist. The lower half as been compared to a undivided hakama, but is just the lower half of the kimono, just lowered down and bound tighter. When not in battle or training, Karasu's extra arms rest inside the elongated and enlarged sleeves, while in battle or training, Karasu merely has to undo one clasp, and the entire top half cascades off of her, revealing her lower garments. Karasu wears only bandages under her kimono, binding her usually size of 36c to an A. The bandages also wrap her shoulders and arms, going to about elbow length.
Karasu's footwear of choice is a Geta with 5cm teeth. While in battle or training, she instead wears Jika-tabi.
Hato is a small, fair skinned young man, pale as anything. His skin is soft and supple, including his hands and feet, which would usually be callused to an extreme from his training, but because he is in his sister all the time(and he moisturizes) they remain perfectly manicured and beautiful. Hato has never been described as handsome, but is called beautiful more often then his sister. Hato sticks out in his clan because of his fair hair and skin, something that makes him feel even more disconnected from his clan.
Hatos hair is naturally white, flowing down his back and 72cm, and partially covers his face. Although that is his hairs natural state, he often wears it up, keeping it up with two decorative chopsticks, black in color with an extension of obsidian beads and a small white down feather at the end. When his hair is up he also has a clip, a stylized black feather, to keep his hair out of his face.
Hato's eyes are near black in color, deep-sunk, and large. They have been described as serious, dark pools that people can become lost in. Hato has a tendency to stare, or go for long periods of time with out blinking.
Hato wears a Judogi(Black, or white, or light blue) in most situations, not because of any preference, but because the majority of the time he is outside his sister is for training or fighting. In formal situations Hato will wear a black suit, with white accents. When in his Judogi he will wear his hair up in a ponytail, when in formal wear his hair is let down, and he will sometimes wear a black fedora. When in casual wear, a black separated Hakama and white kimono top, that is when Hato wears his hair up with decals, and wears a small amount of make up, typically just eye shadow, eye liner, and deep red lipstick, not enough to be glam, but enough to show off his natural features.
Hato's foot wear is as follows; Geta with the hakama, tabi and zori in the judogi, and black polished shoes in his suit.
Background:
During a previous war, the Grass branch of the Kumomusha clan had come across fighters implementing the Souma no Ko artificial blood line. Impressed with their abilities, Karasu and Hato's Grandfather- Taka- tasked the clans medics with finding a way to duplicate the process. It took many years, but success was finally reached, the first twins to survive the procedure being Karasu and Hatos mother and uncle. Fifteen years ago, a project was started, 8 groups of twins, 16 children in total, would undergo the procedure, that was the first phase of the social experiment dubbed "Project Siamese Spider".
Karasu and Hato were the only dizygotic twins in the group, something unknown at the time of the procedure. This caused several complications. First, the twins lacked the psychic connection that the other had. Second, Karasu, originally the passive twin, was extremely sickly, unable to be outside of her brother for more then an hour before collapsing. And finally, the twins could not instantaneously fuse together after splitting. Taka was worried that his grandchildren would fail the third phase of the social experiment.
The second phase of the experiment occurred 3 years after the 8 sets of twins were born. The parents of the children were killed in the night, and they were to be raised by the community. This was done in an attempt to separate any paternal bonds that might have formed, and replace it with a deep bond to the clan. Taka had carried out the poisoning of his own daughter and her husband. Unfortunately, Hato, who was awake at the time, witnessed his parents murder, and has locked it away since, in a place so deep, not even Karasu, who shares a psychic connection with him, can get to.
Hato trained hard, constantly honing his taijutsu skills in attempt to compensate for his sisters weakness, a weakness he blamed himself for. Karasu on the other hand, trained in the ways of ninjutsu, specifically medical ninjutsu, seeing it as useful when paired with a partner who would constantly be int he thick of battle. Hato was head of his class when it came to taijutsu, but was about average in all other aspects.
At the age of 8, phase 3 of Project Siamese Spider was put into place. The children were gathered, and the children underwent the ritual to gain the new arms. All except Karasu who was deemed too weak. Hato trained hard with his new arms, honing his taijutsu and implementing his 4 new hands. Hato soon became the most skilled genin in the clan, and perhaps the grass village.
10 years after the children birth, the 4th phase was implemented. The children would be gathered one more time, the last time they would be together. It was a fight to the death. Taka had decided that the strongest of the bunch would be married off and have many offspring, creating the strongest fighters the Kumomusha clan had ever seen.
Hato was at a disadvantage, he refused to let his sister leave his body, instead fighting off his twin enemies solo. He had succeeded in killing 10 of his peers, using his taijutsu and multiple arms, occasionally borrowing from Karasu, but it was too much. He was too weakened, he would die. Karasu would not allow this. Emerging from her brother, she used her basic medical skills to heal Hato, and her ninjutsu to defeat 2 of the remaining 4 enemies. Unfortunately she was too weak to continue. Her brother, barely conscious, ordered her to absorb him.
Karasu was confused, was that even possible? She was the passive twin after all, and argued as much. "There's nothing passive about you sister." Hato convinced her, it was the only way for both of them to survive. Karasu did the unthinkable and switched roles, absorbing her brother, she gained enough strength to finish off her enemies before collapsing.
Karasu awoke, days later, and was informed of the repercussions of her actions. Her brother had become weaker then she ever was while she was the sleeping twin. Aside from that, Karasu found that she was unable to perform many of the jutsu she had practiced, and Hato was nearly completely unable to perform his famed taijutsu. It was explained to her it was because when they switched, their chakra channels had completely changed, and they would have to relearn even the most basic of jutsu.
Taka was simultaneously proud and saddened. He had lost a child, but his grandchildren had come out as the winners. Sure, they were weakened now, but jutsu can be relearned. Taka was also disappointed in that his granddaughter, in being chosen as the breeder, could not become the clan widow. This is also the only hing that Karasu disagrees with her clan on. She does not wish to be a baby factory, she would much rather be the clan widow, and it has been the topic of many arguments between her and her grandfather.
4 years later, Karasu is a strong, beautiful young woman, ready to take the world on. Hato has gained enough power to separate from his sister for 4 hours, and has begun his taijutsu training. Seeing they have become stronger, Taka has told Karasu and Hato it is time they were married off. Karasu refused. For the first time in her life, Karasu refused her grandfather, and by extension the clan. When told she was to kill her friends, she accepted, when told her brother would forever be weakened because of something the clan had ordered her to do, she did not begrudge them.
"It would be best for the clan if I were to become widow grandfather." Karasu said in an even and steady tone. Her grandfather was silent for a while. Finally;
"Very well, I will allow you to try for the position of widow. But wiht one condition; You must go out into the world, and learn the secrets of 6 other clans."
The Grass Kumomusha clan had adopted a globalization stance on clan abilities. They wish o collect the secrets of several other clans in order to strengthen themselves. In exchange they will teach the clans they gain information from a modified version of the clans Ritual of the Spider. The modified part is a secret that only Taka and a few others know about.
"So all I have to do is learn 6 clans secrets in exchange of our own clans abilities, and I can attempt to become widow?" Karasu asked, sceptically.
Taka assured her he was telling the truth.
With a new purpose in life, Karasu returned to training, and would soon depart on an adventure for knowledge. Hato though, suspects their grandfather has ulterior motives, but will support his sister, who in the span of 4 years had become an inspiration to him, with anything.
