Information: Some know what the Campfire Chronicles is, others don't, most don't, so I will tell you. The Campfire Chronicles is a children's play of the high school level. That is just a title and I would like for everyone to recognize this work of art if playwrights are your thing. Now for the event that this title name influenced! The Campfire Chronicles contest is for you to write up a children's horror story that you would tell around a campfire with your buddies, say if you were 12 and properly raised to not be a bad kid. Now being as it's a children's horror story, you have to make it scary and able for audiences of 8+! Good Luck!

Rules: No plagiarism! You may not vote for your own, that also means you cannot vote for your own with another account, if there is suspicion that you are doing this your IP will be checked and if its a match you will be disqualified from this and the next writing contest. Your story must be at least four paragraphs long, this means of high school level as well, 5+ sentences per paragraph. If you Flame or Troll people you will receive warnings! 1st warning is verbal, then 33%, and so on. If you are already on 33% or higher you will move up one on that.

You Reap What You Sew...

My cousin and his wife lived in Sydney with this huge doberman in a little apartment off Maroubra Road. One night they went out for dinner and a spot of clubbing. By the time they got home it was late and my cousin was more than a little drunk. They got in the door and were greeted by the dog choking to death in the loungeroom.

My cousin just fainted, but his wife rang the veterinarian, who was an old family friend of hers, and got her to agree to meet her at the surgery. The wife drives over and drops off the dog, but decides that she'd better go home and get her hubby into bed.

She gets home and finally slaps my cousin into consciousness, but he's still drunk. It takes her almost half an hour to get him up the stairs, and then the phone rings. She's tempted to just leave it, but she decides that it must be important or they wouldn't be ringing that late at night. As soon as she picks up the phone, she hears the vet's voice screaming out:

"Thank God I got you in time! Leave the house! Now! No time to explain!" Then the vet hangs up.

Because she's such an old family friend, the wife trusts her, and so she starts getting the hubby down the stairs and out of the house. By the time they've made it all the way out, the police are outside. They rush up the front stairs past the couple and into the house, but my cousin's wife still doesn't have a clue what's going on.

The vet shows up and says, "Have they got him? Have they got him?"

"Have they got who?" says the wife, starting to get really pissed off.

"Well, I found out what the dog was choking on – it was a human finger."

Just then the police drag out a dirty, stubbly man who is bleeding profusely from one hand. "Hey Sarge," one of them yells. "We found him in the bedroom."

An old friend?[/color][/b][/size]

"Jeez...thank God that this is the last football training before the summer vacation" muttered Cody. He had just moved to this part of town and wanted to make some new friends. Luckily, there was a playground plus a football field just a couple of blocks away from his new house.
"Hey there!" said a sweet voice. Cody turned his head and saw a girl on his age; she had shoulder-lenght blonde hair, pale skin and blue eyes. She was wearing a typical pink summer dress and hold a comic magazine in her hands.

"Uh...hey. Who're you?" asked the boy as he looked at her. "My name's Jess. I'm kinda lost...do you live near Snowile street?" asked the girl. Cody thought for a couple of seconds; he was pretty sure it was the street right next to his.
"I think it's quite close. We can walk together if that's fine" said the boy. Jess smiled as they started to walk towards the street. "What kind of comic is that? Looks kinda old" thought Cody as he looked at the magazine. It was frayed around the edges. "Oh, it's Donald Duck. But I never seem to finish it somehow" said the girl. She then popped a piece of candy into her mouth.

They soon arrived Snowile street. "That's my house! Thanks for following me!" said Jess before she ran into the house. Cody then noticed that she had dropped her magazine. 'It's almost 8 PM...I have to get home. I can give Jess the magazine tomorrow' thought the boy as he headed home with the magazine in his hands.
Cody decided to go over to the house at noon next day. He rung the doorbell and the door was opened just a couple seconds later by a blonde woman in her twenties. "Hello. I'm here to deliver a magazine that belongs to Jess" said the boy.
"Are you sure she lives here? There's nobody named Jess who lives here" replied the woman. Cody raised his eyebrows; he had seen the girl walk in here yesterday. He suddenly saw a photo of Jess on the wall right behind the blonde. "Yes, I'm sure! She looks just like her!" said the boy and pointed on the photograph.
The woman turned her head. "Oh, that's my cousin. She died two years ago...I think she choked on a piece of candy while she read a comic magazine".[/font]
