Character Depth
Personality:
Laid back:
Daisuke is a particularly chilled out individual. But, that's not to say he isn't responsible or ambitions. He generally tries not to get involved in social/political matters unless absolutely necessary or is ordered to do so. He always keeps his cool in high pressure situations, and usually thinks about most matters before acting.
Reluctant Leader:
Being as laid back as he is, Daisuke would just as soon let someone else lead then himself. However, Daisuke happens to have natural leadership quality's, such as: taking charge in dangerous situations, making intelligent and strategic decisions and standing up to tough challenges while keeping his head on straight is something to be admired.
Ambitious:
Admittedly a bit of a contradiction to his care free nature, Daisuke is very ambitious and has large goals. He strives for perfection as a shinobi, and always drives to become stronger. When not on missions, or relaxing, Daisuke spends hours training to prefect his skills, learning new ones, or studying theory and other intellectual pursuits at the library.
Intellectual:
Daisuke values knowledge above all else. Knowing that the difference between life and death could be as simple as outsmarting your opponent. He usually carries a book with him, which he reads in his down time. Daisuke actually has an above average IQ and outperformed many of his peers at the Academy, however he doesn't believe that his intellect makes him better than anyone else and would prefer that no one knew about his mental prowess.
Kind/Loyal Friend:
Daisuke is, above all else, a nice guy. His laid back demeanor leaves him agreeable, staying out of arguments unless its something relevant to a mission, or something he strongly believes in. He is compassionate, and looks out for the good of others. To his good friends, Daisuke is loyal to the death and would go out of his way to help or protect his friends and love ones.
Artist/Philosopher:
Daisuke has been involved in artistic endeavors since a young child. Due to his mothers influence, he is an exceptional painter and has to be as he is a member of the Li clan. When he needs to get away or to think, he will often leave the village to find a remote cliff where he can paint and meditate. Daisuke is the thinking type, and has formulated strong beliefs about the world in one way or another. He would usually to prefer not argue about them, but no matter the situation, he will follow his heart regardless of the opposition.
Time To Get Serious:
Even thought Daisuke is mostly laid back, even sometimes in battle, he always knows when the situation gets serious and changes his attitude accordingly. When facing tough opponents he keeps his cool and adapts a serious and tactical attitude. This often comes as a surprise to his teammates, but an even bigger surprise to the enemy.
Addict:
Daisuke is slightly addicted to smoking, and frequently has a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. He wouldn't have a tough time quitting, he just chooses not to. Daisuke also drinks Sake from time to time after high stress missions, which he has be scolded for many times from elders and friends.
Pessimistic/Sarcastic:
Sometimes, being an intellectual and seeing the world as it is, leads a person to see the glass half empty instead of half full. Although usually in a good mood, Daisuke is prone to periods of pessimism where he is negative about most things. He also has a tendency for sarcasm.
Vengeance:
Daisuke is not one to be easily offended, or angered in anyway. However if someone crosses the line, he likely won't forgive easily. When it comes to a friend or loved one dying by the hands of another, Daisuke feels obligated to avenge their death so that their souls can rest in peace.
Appearance:
[ This image is property of me, please don't steal!
Daisuke is slightly taller than average, standing at 5'9". He has an athletic build, but more is more lean than buff (example: competition swimmers build). His build endows him with slightly more agility, flexibility and speed than someone who is of heavy or skinny physique.
Daisuke has a light skin tone, with an olive tint to it; giving him the "not too pale, not too tan" look. His hair is of a unique charcoal color, being primarily dark but looking almost dark gray in certain light. His hair is layered and shaggy (see picture), the longest parts falling just below his ears.
Daisuke's was blessed with a thin and handsome face, making him popular with the ladies. He has thin sideburns that run down just past his ears, as well as patchy stubble that runs across his chin. Perhaps his most interesting feature is his eyes, which are of a golden brown color. They give Daisuke an intense and mysterious vibe that seem to stir ones very soul. Oddly enough his eyes tend to be more of a brown tint when Daisuke is calm and at rest, but glow a bright gold when in battle or training. However Daisuke has never paid to much attention to whether or they actually change color.
Daisuke's mission and training attire (what he wears most) consists of a Light Grey Shinobi Tactical Vest, which is common among ninja as it provides light protection and functionality. A dark red long sleeved shinobi shirt, which comes with an attached lower mask, however Daisuke leaves the mask part rolled down around his neck. The Li Clan insignia patch is sewn on to both sleeves and is located on the upper arm, where Daisuke's deltoid is. Just underneath the Li clan patch is a white cloth wrapping on each arm that is only wrapped around several times just covering the top half of each bicep. Oh his hands Daisuke wears a pair of black gloves that are fingerless only on the thumb and index fingers of both hands for easier shuriken control.
Moving down, Daisuke wears a pair of black trousers, with a white cloth wrapping on his right thigh, over the top of the wrapping is a small pouch exclusively for shuriken. Starting at the mid calf, his trousers are wrapped onto his legs with a white cloth that continues down just above his ankle. This is a shinobi standard, to prevent excess cloth from getting snagged on something. For footwear Daisuke wears standard shinobi sandals.
As for his his Iwagakure headband, which is a metal plate with the Iwa insignia fixed to a dark red headband; Daisuke usually wears it hanging from his neck, but during battle he will shift it to his forehead, underneath his bangs.
When wearing civilian clothing Daisuke wears a fitted, light grey zippered hooded sweatshirt over the top of a dark red, v-neck style t-shirt. For pants, he wears a pair of black trousers without wrappings on his calves, and a pair of shinobi sandals.
Background:
Daisuke was born in the Leaf Village on a rainy day in the middle of spring, to proud parents Ichiro and Suzuka Nakamura. Ichiro was skilled Jounin shinobi and master of Puppetry for the Leaf Village, he was also a respected member of the Nara Clan. Suzuka was a former ANBU shinobi for the Leaf Village, a widely renowned artist and respected member of the Li Clan. Ichiro and Suzuka first met during a joint mission, took a liking for one another and continued to date for several years. Ichiro finally purposed and the two were soon married. Not long after their marriage, the pair both retired from their respective shinobi positions and took on domestic jobs so that they could start a family. Ichiro worked as a craftsman, and made shinobi puppets while Suzuka became renowned for her paintings in the village, and made a living through art.
Approximately a year after the couple married, they bore a son, Daisuke. After careful consideration, the family decided to move from the Leaf village, to the Stone village. Ichiro ‘s family was from the Earth Country and his father Jiro Nakamura was a highly respected elder in the Stone village, and assured the family a warm welcome to the village. The family soon settled in, and continued their respective jobs; Ichiro made puppets from Iwagakure shinobi, and Suzuka cared for Daisuke while making paintings on the side.
Daisuke grew up with much love from his family. The pride of his father, the joy of his mother along with a loving grandfather who always spoiled him. As young has 3 years old, Suzuka taught Daisuke to paint, which he showed great aptitude for. At 4 Ichiro taught his son to throw shuriken, and Daisuke’s grandfather Jiro would bring him to the library and read him books. All these experiences primed Daisuke for the man he would become.
When Daisuke was 8 years old, at a time when a lot of children were entering the Academy; Ichiro and Suzuka decided it would be best for Daisuke to see the world before becoming a shinobi. Much to Daisuke’s chagrin, they left and set off for the Fire Country. They visited the Leaf Village, and introduced Daisuke to members of the Nara and Li clan’s. Then they visited the Land of Thunder, where Suzuka was born. They spent the next two years traveling, sometimes encountering hard situations; sometimes having more fun than any 8 year old child could expect to have. It all ended up making Daisuke well rounded by the time the returned.
After they returned, Daisuke spent the next two years learning about the clans his parents were in, and spending a lot of time in the library, learning about shinobi, science and philosophy. This marked the beginning of his lust of knowledge. At 12 years old, Daisuke finally entered the Shinobi Academy. Two years later he graduated top of his class, and became a Genin. At this point, he learned some of the basic Clan jutsu for the Li and Nara clans, and was officially inducted into both. Ichiro was somewhat disappointed when he found out Daisuke had no interest in being a Puppeteer Shinobi, but was pleased that he took such an interest in Nara clan jutsu.
Soon after Daisuke’s graduation to Genin, on his 14th birthday, his grandfather Jiro was attacked and killed by rogue shinobi outside the village. Once he heard the news, Daisuke was filled with despair and rage, and left the village in search of the rogue shinobi. After tracking the group back to their hideout, Daisuke blindly ambushed them. The group easily defeated him and were about to deal the finishing blow, but Daisuke’s parents found him, killed the group of rogue ninja and returned him home. After recovering, Daisuke realized what he did was stupid, and became all the wiser for it. But he also decided that he never wanted to let any of his loved ones get hurt again.
Now, 3 years later Daisuke is much more skilled and wiser than he was a few years back. He still has a lot of learning to do, but he is driven to become the shinobi his Grandfather would be proud of.

Hira-Shuriken (Overview)

Drawback: ---

In modern popular culture, these are called "throwing stars" or "ninja stars". They often have a hole in the center and possess a fairly thin blade sharpened only at the tip. The holes derive from their source in items that had holes - old coins, washers, and nail-removing tools. This proved convenient for the shuriken user, as well, as the weapons could be strung on a string or dowel in the belt for transport, and the hole also had aerodynamic and weighting effects that aided the flight of the blade after it was thrown. There is a wide variety of forms of hira-shuriken and they are now usually identified by the number of points the blades possess.
Limit: These types of items may be capable of being bought inside any Weapon Shop.
Cost: 1,500 Ryo per Slot, or 100 Ryo Each.

Special: ---
Drawback: ---

Other items were also thrown as in the fashion of bo-shuriken, such as kogai (ornamental hairpin), kogata (utility knife) and hashi (chopsticks), although these items were not associated with any particular school of shurikenjutsu, rather they were more likely just thrown at opportune moments by a skilled practitioner who was skilled in a particular method or school.
