Animal companion I'm trying to find: Toshio.

Chance of finding: 20%.


'Right...what sort of animal should I look for? I already have a bird' thought the male as he went through the streets of Zokuji. He had been thinking on finding a second animal companion for himself, but he was not sure what animal to pick.
An aquatic animal like a seal or fish was out of the question. The same went for an amphibian like a lizard, frog or crocodile.

'Large mammals like a bear or a reindeer is out of the question as well. Same goes for rats plus squirrels since Shimoko-chan may eat them up' thought Minoru. Maybe he should go for a cat or a dog?
Cats or dogs were large enough to defend themselves against Shimoko. Not to mention that they had an excellent sense of smell that could be useful on missions.

'I think I'll go for a cat. My parents are big cat lovers and the Inuzuka people in the village has enough dogs' thought the guy as he entered the library. He then found a book that had information about the different cat races.
'I need a social cat that does not require a lot of grooming. So long-haired cats like the persian is definitely out of the question' thought the Chuunin.

His eyes then landed on a cinnamon coloured cat with golden yellow eyes. 'Abyssinian cats loves to play plus that it is quite social. I think I should go with this one' thought the male before he exited the library.
After a quick visit to the tourist information centre, the black-haired guy decided to check one of the breeder's shops first. He found it about ten minutes later.

A small 'pling' was heard when the guy entered the shop. The clerk was busy talking to a customer. 'Hm...the cats are sorted alphabetically. Should be easy to find it then' thought Minoru as he went to the 'A' section.
Lavender eyes looked into the large cage-thing that contained American shorthair cats. Would there be an Abyssian in the group as well?

'Hmmmm' thought the male as he searched the large cage for the animal that he wanted. But there were no Abyssinian kittens or cats in there whatsoever. "May I help you?" inquired a friendly voice behind him.
Minoru looked up and saw a clerk with white hair tied back into a somewhat loose ponytail. "I'm interested in buying an Abyssinian cat" replied the guy in a polite voice.

"Aha...I'm afraid we don't have any at the moment. Do you want me to look up some breeders instead?" suggested the woman while she adjusted her ponytail a little bit.
"Sure, that would be great! Thank you" answered the Chuunin before he went with her towards the back of the counter.

"Just give me a minute please" murmured the ivory-haired female as she picked up something that looked like a catalogue. She then ripped out a page from a notebook that laid on her desk. The clerk then scribbled down some adresses on it before she handed the note to him.
"All of these places are registered as breeders. I'm quite sure the top three has just had a litter with Abyssinians" informed the woman.

"Thank you. Have a nice day!" said the guy as he exited the shop with the note in his hand. 'First place is on Akahoshi boulevard...which is only three blocks away from here' thought the Chuunin as he checked the map.
He started to jump from roof to roof in order to get there as quick as he could. It did not take long before he reached the breeder's shop, which was named 'Tsukineko'.

Lavender eyes looked in through the window. There was a poster in the window that listed all the types of breed that were now up for purchase. 'Kami...it's probably ten types of cats on this list if not more' thought the male.
He narrowed his eyes while he looked for the name of the race he wanted to buy. Would the word 'Abyssinian' be printed on this list?

His ebony brows knitted when they noticed that there were no Abyssinians on the list. 'Looks like I have to go to the second place. They may not have litters, but I can check at the least' thought the male.
He looked at the adress; the next place was located about a mile away from where he was now. Minoru started to roof jump again while he kept an eye on the street names so he did not miss it.

'Kinda funny that my mission to a place like this would lead me to find my second animal companion. Not to mention that it is something as ordinary as a cat instead of something exotic like a monkey' thought the guy with a small smile. He stopped up for a moment as he saw the road split in two at a square.
'THERE!' thought the Chuunin as he saw something that looked like a petshop at the street that went to the right. He jumped down from the roof before he landed right next to a lamppost.

'Chibi creatures eh? Nice name' thought the male as he entered the shop that had a cute kitten as its mascot. This shop had medium-sized rooms with windows that had numerous animals like cats or dogs inside them.
'Looks like this is a dog room' thought the black-haired guy as he looked into the first room. It had five types of dogs from puppies to adults inside it.

He moved on to the next room that had the number '2' on the door. Pale purple optics peeked through the window in the search for a suitable cat. There were at least four cat races in there, but was there an overview of some sort nearby?
'Ah, there it is!' thought the guy as he saw a list taped onto the door. His eyes read down the names of the cat races...would the cat he looked for be inside this room?

'No Abyssinian cats or kittens here either' thought the male with a disappointed look on his face. His eyes then moved down to the list that the clerk in the previous shop had written. 'She told me that this shop did not have one, so no surprise there' thought Minoru as he found his next destination.
The next place was 'Amaya breeder association' that had three shops that sold cats in the capital. 'Hm...the closest one is about ten minutes away' thought the guy as he checked the map.

He jogged through a small alley as he continued his journey for a new animal companion. 'Wonder how the cat will react when it sees Shimoko-chan. I know she's quite tolerant about dogs, but I hope my new companion won't try to eat her' thought the Chuunin as he landed on a roof.
His animal companion was in his backpacker since she had stayed up most of the night. Lavender eyes scanned the streets below in an attempt to find the branch that belonged to the association.

'BINGO!' thought the male as he saw a shop with animal equipment that was located next to a beauty salon. 'Let there be some kittens in there please!' prayed the black-haired guy as he hopped down from the roof. He landed on the ground a second later and walked into the shop.
A number of cats were located at the left side of the store while the dogs were located at the right. The guy decided to ask the black-haired man who sat behind the counter.

"Excuse me. I would like to buy an Abyssinian cat for an animal companion" informed Minoru as he looked at the clerk. "Hold on a second...I'll see if we have any left" replied the man as he opened one of the drawers.
The clerk took out a catalogue and started to flip through the pages. Would there be any cats of that race available in here?

The male bit his lower lip while his eyes flitted across the small cages that were inside the shop. "Sorry. We don't have any Abyssinian cats available at the moment" informed the man.
"Aaaah...that's too bad. Thanks for helping me out anyways" replied Minoru with a polite voice and exited the shop right afterwards.

'Where is the next shop located?' thought the guy as he looked down at the map he had gotten earlier. The next shop was about seven blocks away, not too far away from where he had first started his search. 'Kami...I should have gone there first' thought the Chuunin while he rolled his eyes.
It did not take long before he was jumping from roof to roof in order to get there as fast as possible. He then felt some small nudges from the inside of his backpacker.

'Shimoko-chan is probably awake now. Which is good since it's 01:35 PM' thought the male as he landed on the roof of a house that appeared to be an art gallery. 'Hakunai art gallery...I should be here' thought the black-haired guy as he jumped down towards the ground in a careful manner.
A pair of pale purple optics searched for the shop that belonged to the Amaya breeder association. Just where was the pet shop located in this street!?

His eyes widened as he saw the logo stand on a door that lead into another building. It appeared that a number of shops were located in there, so maybe it was a mini-mall of some sort. The guy went towards the door while he opened his backpacker so his animal companion could get out.
'I hope that I will find the cat soon. I promised my aunt in Hitofuki that I would take the 4 PM boat from Zokuji' thought Minoru as he approached the shop.

He entered the building and soon found the shop that was owned by the breeder association. The male was surprised when he saw that most of the cats were walking around freely in two rooms that had windows. "Can I help you?" inquired a pink-haired teenager girl in a uniform.
"Uhm...yes. I'm looking for an Abyssinian cat that can be my animal companion" informed Minoru, hoping that his voice sounding a bit determined.

"You're a shinobi huh? Don't worry; I'm quite sure we have an Abyssinian cat here" answered the girl as she looked towards one of the rooms. She entered it and came out a minute later or so with a young cat in her arms.
"This is Toshio...I got him in quite recently. He is six months old, has had all the shots taken, been spayed plus that he is potty trained so to speak" informed the clerk.

"Is he afraid of bigger animals? I have a large bird as my second animal companion, but she only spends the nights inside where I live" said the guy while he hoped for a positive reply. "Hm...let me check for a second. Hold him for a minute please while I check the sheet that the breeder gave me" muttered the girl. She handed Toshio over to him before she went over to the counter.

Lavender eyes met a pair of gold ones. They seemed curious at the human who hold him. "According to what the breeder wrote, Toshio is fine with larger animals" informed the pinkette as she walked over to him.
"Sounds good...I think I'll take him" replied the Chuunin with a smile on his face. "Very well, please take good care of him!" answered the female as she took out a cardboard box with holes in it.

She laid the animal inside the box together with some sort of water bottle plus some food. "Thank you and have a nice day" stated the male as he exited the shop. He could not wait to get home again so he could start training Toshio.
'I better get on the boat as soon as I can! Hope you're not seasick Toshio-kun' thought the black-haired guy as he jogged towards the harbor.
